The Dadar West streetwear label has released ‘Bonkers X Major Rishabh’, a line of hoodies, a canvas jacket and wrinkle-free shirts made with the retired Army officer.
What happened
Streetwear label Bonkers Corner has released a collaboration with retired Major Rishabh Singh Sambyal, Mint reported. Sambyal earlier served as Aide-de-Camp to President Droupadi Murmu, and the new line carries the name ‘Bonkers X Major Rishabh’.
According to Mint, the range pairs relaxed layers with smarter basics. Two hoodies lead the edit, the Black Stardust Zip Hoodie and the Royal Cheetah Hoodie, and a Paisley Canvas Jacket sits beside them. Buyers after something plainer can pick wrinkle-free shirts, offered in white, black and navy blue.
Sambyal took up the ADC role in the President’s office in March 2023, Mint reported. He went on to leave the Indian Army at the age of 30, having served for 12 years. The streetwear tie-up puts a familiar name from public service on a youth fashion label’s racks.
The background
Bonkers Corner started in 2020 in Dadar West, Maharashtra, with streetwear for young buyers as its core. The homegrown label has since built a sizeable physical presence, and Mint reported that it now runs 51 retail stores across India.
The brand reached a much wider audience when it appeared on Season 5 of Shark Tank India. On the show, the ask from Shubham Gupta, one of its co-founders, was ₹1.5 crore for a 0.5% stake, which put the company’s worth at ₹300 crore. Namita Thapar accepted the offer, according to Mint.
More recently, Anushka Sen, who works as an actor and model, became the face of Bonkers Corner in an ambassador role. A company blog post sets out three pillars behind its vision: building a sustainable ecosystem, growing its offline business, and combining premium quality with collaborations. The Major Rishabh line falls under that third pillar, alongside the brand’s steady push into physical retail.
What it means for you
For shoppers, the collection offers a spread of styles in one place. Those who like bold casual wear can look at the two hoodies and the paisley jacket, while anyone building a simple work or weekend wardrobe may find the shirts more practical, since they resist creasing and come in navy blue, black or white. With 51 stores across the country, the brand has a wide offline network, which makes it easier for many buyers to try pieces on before deciding.
Mint’s report did not include prices or say which outlets will stock the line, so shoppers may want to check with their nearest Bonkers Corner store before planning a visit. Since the brand lists collaborations among its stated priorities, fans of the label may also want to keep an eye out for further partnerships of this kind.
