R&B Brand Audit: Apparel Group-Owned, Made in India, ₹299 Tees

R&B is owned by Dubai's Apparel Group. On 29 September 2026 its Indian goods declared India as origin, and men's tees on its own site ran ₹299 to ₹799 MRP.
R&B brand audit by FashionAudit: R&B logo and the headline “Apparel Group-Owned, Made in India, ₹299 Tees” over a stack of folded colourful t-shirts beside folded denim shorts on a dark table

R&B is a value-fashion chain belonging to Apparel Group, a privately held retailer in Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai; a group release records that it “was launched in Muscat Grand Mall, Oman, in October 2012”. In India the name is sold by the group’s own Mumbai companies, and this audit sets out which of them appears where.

On 29 September 2026 the Indian site, randbfashion.in, printed one group company in its terms, a second in its footer and a third on its returns page; on a large Indian fashion marketplace “R&B India Private Limited” sat on the “Manufactured By” line of every record opened, and the footer company was seller of record on all 20.

The short answer

R&B is owned by Apparel Group of Dubai, a privately held group. The Indian site’s terms name “Rare & Basics India Pvt. Ltd.”; a register mirror carries that former name under Apparel Group Retail Private Limited; the marketplace pack prints “R&B India Private Limited”; and the seller of record on 20 of 20 records was Apparel Group Global Fashion Brands Private Limited. The first 40 listings’ median selling price was 83.0% of their median MRP; the site allows a 30-day return, no exchange and no stated warranty period.

No accounts, revenue, profit or R&B segment figure appear in any document read. The group’s timeline records, under 2022, “Major Brands officially becomes Apparel Group India Pvt.Ltd.”.

A trade-mark entry records who holds the mark; it does not say who sells the goods. Here the mirror prints the proprietor as “Major Brands”, at B-907 Mittal Commercia, Mumbai. A Ministry of Consumer Affairs list carries importer registration “GOI/MH/2020/363” for “M/s Major Brands (India) Pvt. Ltd.” at the same B-907 unit, and the group’s timeline records that Major Brands became Apparel Group India Pvt. Ltd. in 2022.

How R&B reaches India

No franchisee, licensee or distributor is named in any document read; every release on an Indian store credits it to Apparel Group or Apparel Group India. The Gulf site, randbfashion.com, offers six country locales and no Indian one; the Indian shop, randbfashion.in, is named as the online channel in the Mumbai release of 20 August 2025, issued by Apparel Group India.

The Indian openings, as releases and trade press dated them: eight stores (23 May 2023); an 18th at HSR Layout, Bengaluru (6 February 2024); a 20th at Maninagar, Ahmedabad (4 April 2024), in a report naming “Apparel Group India Private Limited” as operator; a 26th and 27th, “in 11 Indian cities across six states” (9 June 2025); and Phoenix Marketcity, Mumbai (20 August 2025).

Three Mumbai companies carry the group’s name on a companies-register mirror, all “Active” on 29 September 2026.

R&B on the shelf

On a large Indian fashion marketplace on 29 September 2026 a search for “r&b” offered an R&B brand filter holding 4,537 listings; a separate facet, R B SAREE HOUSE, held 167. The filter ran to 40 categories, led by Tshirts 1,481, Shirts 406, Dresses 372, Sweatshirts 359, Trousers 341, Kurtas 308 and Tops 275.

The first 40 in the filter’s own order had a median MRP of ₹1,299 and a median selling price of ₹1,078, 83.0% of MRP, with 26 of the 40 below their MRP. Behind the Tshirts filter, 30 listings had a median MRP of ₹699 and a median price of ₹580, again 83.0%, 23 reduced; behind Dresses, 30 ran ₹1,299 against ₹929, 71.5%, 18 reduced. Among ten brand filters read on that marketplace the same day, R&B’s 83.0% was the largest share of MRP and its 26 of 40 the fewest reductions. That is one shelf on one day.

Twenty of the 40 were opened for the declaration beside the buy button. A listing’s declaration prints the country of origin, an importer where there is one, and a “Manufactured By” line naming the party declared answerable for the garment under Indian packaging rules, not the room where it was sewn. All 20 named as seller APPAREL GROUP GLOBAL FASHION BRANDS PRIVATE LIMITED. The manufacturer field read “R&B India Private Limited, Raiskaran Tech Park Third Floor, Unit No.1, Tower I, …” on 18 and “R&B India Private Limited, Mittal Commercia, Maharashtra, Mumbai – 400059” on 2. The importer field was blank on 11 and repeated the Raiskaran string on 9. Origin read India on 20 of 20.

“R&B India Private Limited” is printed here as the listing prints it. The Raiskaran Tech Park address on that line is the one the register mirror gives as the registered office of Apparel Group India Private Limited.

Where R&B is made

No document read names a factory, a contract maker, a supplier count or a country share for R&B. What is printed is the origin line: “Country of Origin: India” on all three randbfashion.in product pages read on 29 September 2026. The product pages print “Machine Wash” and one fabric word, “Cotton” or “Blended”, with no percentage, no GSM and no certifier.

Both operating Mumbai companies carry NIC code 1810 on the register mirror, “Manufacture of wearing apparel, except fur apparel”, covering “both regular and contract activities”; that is a register classification, not a statement that either runs a plant. The brand’s own Indian product pages read print no “manufactured by” line, so the only manufacturer declaration here is the marketplace one.

Three names on one Indian site

The register mirror links two of them: RARE & BASICS INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED is the former name it prints for Apparel Group Retail Private Limited. The footer company, Apparel Group Global Fashion Brands Private Limited, incorporated on 28 February 2026, is the seller of record on the marketplace.

Returns, warranty and who answers

If there are defects in the goods you have purchased, R&B India abides by all statutory guarantee regulations.

randbfashion.in, Terms and Conditions, read 29 September 2026.

The terms give no warranty period or claims process beyond that sentence. The returns page allows a return request registered within 30 days of delivery, goods unused with labels and tags attached, and a refund “to the card originally used” within 30 days of the return being received. Swimwear, underwear, pierced earrings and cosmetics are excluded “due to hygiene reasons”. The page states “We don’t currently offer an exchange service”, so a wrong size means a return and a fresh order.

The contact points printed are customer.care@randbfashion.in and 1800-833-5350. The returns page’s copyright line names Apparel Group Retail Private Limited.

What R&B costs in India

This audit sets no Gulf price beside the Indian one. The Gulf site carries category pages titled “Under 25 AED”, “Men Under 50 AED” and “20 AED”; the only AED prices in a company document read are for school bags in an August 2024 release, such as “backpacks at AED 65”. No exchange rate is applied.

randbfashion.in productStyle codeMRPProduct page priceCategory page price, same dayFabric as printed

R&B Men Off White Textured Resort Collar Short Sleeves Relaxed Fit Shirt525-0833MN003-2IVORY₹999₹649, “35% off”Not read“Cotton”

All read 29 September 2026. The men’s t-shirt category page also listed printed tees at ₹299 MRP and ₹224, and a navy stripe at ₹699 and ₹524.

Two styles carried a lower selling price on the category page than on their own product page the same day, ₹599 against ₹719 and ₹524 against ₹594; both are printed and neither is called the price. No product was found on both the Gulf and Indian sites under one style code, so the like-for-like comparison cannot be closed here.

The marketplace median MRP, ₹1,299 across the first 40, sits above every MRP read on the brand’s own men’s pages. This site’s audits of Westside and Reliance Trends price other chains to read it against; for the ₹299 printed tee there is the Bewakoof audit, and for the 308 kurtas in the filter, Biba’s audit.

Checking an R&B is genuine

The checks below rest on what the listings and the brand’s own site print.

Check 01

Read the seller of record

APPAREL GROUP GLOBAL FASHION BRANDS PRIVATE LIMITED stood behind the buy button on all 20 marketplace records examined on 29 September 2026. A different seller is a question to put to that seller first.

Check 02

Read the address on the pack

The manufacturer line read “R&B India Private Limited” at Raiskaran Tech Park on 18 of 20 and at Mittal Commercia on 2.

Check 03

Match the style code

randbfashion.in prints a style code on each product page read, such as 126-0003MN004-2_BEIGE. No document read says whether the garment label carries that code, so compare any code a listing prints with the one on the brand’s own site.

Check 04

Compare MRPs, not discounts

The brand’s own site printed two selling prices for one t-shirt on one day. The MRP, ₹699 for that beige cotton tee, is the figure to check a listing against.

The record in India

The dated record here is the registers’: three Mumbai companies “Active” on 29 September 2026, the class-25 device mark “Registered” to 12 June 2029, and the registered marks in the table above, as the mirror prints them.

Who R&B is actually for

R&B suits a buyer who wants a t-shirt or shirt at ₹299 to ₹999 MRP, or a dress from a filter whose median MRP was ₹1,299, from a chain whose marketplace seller carries the owner’s group name and whose site gives 30 days to return. It suits less well anyone who wants an exchange, a stated warranty period or a price further below MRP than the shelf’s median 83.0% share on the day read.

Common questions

Does R&B offer exchanges or a warranty in India?

The FA take

R&B is easy to price. The owner is a private Dubai group, and its Indian shop and listings name several of the group’s Mumbai companies, with Apparel Group Global Fashion Brands as seller of record on every marketplace record read.

The goods declare India on every record read, the marketplace seller was one group company on all 20, and a men’s tee is ₹299 to ₹799 MRP on the brand’s own site. Against that, the site offers no exchange, and its terms state no warranty period beyond the statutory position.

A ₹699 t-shirt from a group company you can name, sold near its MRP, with a 30-day return and statutory rights behind it.
