VEJA is a French sneaker brand run from Paris by VEJA FAIR TRADE S.A.R.L., a private company founded in 2004 by Sébastien Kopp and François-Ghislain Morillion. It sells a white leather trainer on a story about raw materials: wild Amazonian rubber, organic cotton and no paid ads.
In India, as read on 21 September 2026, VEJA sells through its own India storefront, which ships from France, prices in US dollars and leaves customs duty to the buyer. No Indian VEJA company or named Indian partner was found.
VEJA belongs to VEJA FAIR TRADE S.A.R.L. of Paris, managed by its two founders since 2004; its shareholders are not shown on the public register mirrors. Its core models are made in Brazil. Indian buyers are served by VEJA’s own India storefront, which sells from France in US dollars, with duties paid on delivery. No Indian VEJA company was found in the register search read.

Who owns VEJA
The company behind the brand is VEJA FAIR TRADE S.A.R.L., a French private limited company, SIREN 478 328 107 on the Paris trade register. Its registered office is at 146 rue du Faubourg Poissonnière in the 10th arrondissement. It was created on 23 August 2004 with share capital of €400,000, and it names itself as the seller in the terms on its own store.
The two founders run it. Pappers, a private site that republishes French register data, lists Sébastien Kopp and François-Ghislain Morillion as gérants — managers — since 24 August 2004. VEJA’s India storefront says it has been making sneakers since 2005. Both dates can be right: the company came first, the shoes the year after.
Who owns the shares is a different question, and the public record does not answer it. Neither Pappers nor Societe.com shows shareholders, and French beneficial-owner data is not open to the public. Nothing read shows an investor round or a change of control. So this page does not call VEJA founder-owned or independent.
There is no listed parent. In the United States, VEJA’s store is run by a separate company, VEJA North America Inc. of New York. In Brazil, the brand’s store is still titled “VEJA – VERT”; a Brazilian law firm’s blog says an earlier registration blocked the VEJA name there, and that the Paris company bought that mark in 2022.
What the register mirrors carry on money
VEJA publishes no revenue, pair or staff figures on its own transparency page. The numbers below come from register mirrors, not from accounts read for this page. Pappers carries every year; Societe.com carries the exact 2024 figures and had not yet posted 2025 on 21 September 2026.
| Year to 31 December | Revenue | Net result | EBITDA | Accounts filed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2022 | €158 million | €33.9 million | €51.2 million | 17 January 2025 |
| 2023 | €162 million | €53.4 million | €74 million | 17 January 2025 |
| 2024 | €132 million (€132,470,000 per Societe.com) | €21 million (€21,045,000 per Societe.com) | €39 million | 15 October 2025 |
| 2025 | €115 million | €27.1 million | €18.9 million | 21 July 2026 |
Pappers and Societe.com register mirrors, read 21 September 2026. Single-company accounts of VEJA FAIR TRADE S.A.R.L., not a group total.
Read as the mirrors carry them, revenue fell by about 29% in two years, from €162 million in 2023 to €115 million in 2025. The company stayed profitable throughout. These are the accounts of the French company alone; the American seller files separately, so they are not the whole brand’s sales.
The B Corp score
B Lab, the non-profit behind the B Corp label, lists VEJA as certified since December 2018 with an overall B Impact Score of 92.7. The same page carries a 2018 score of 84.2 and does not say in which year the 92.7 was assessed. Of the five parts of the score, Environment scores 26.7 and Customers 2.6.
Who sells VEJA in India
Foreign footwear brands reach India in a handful of ways: an Indian subsidiary, a named Indian operator, the brand’s own store shipping from abroad, or nothing at all. VEJA is on the third route.
No Indian company carrying the VEJA FAIR TRADE name, and no foreign-subsidiary company called VEJA, was found in the register search read. Skechers, by comparison, sells in India through an Indian foreign-subsidiary company; our Skechers audit covers that route.
What VEJA does run is an India-facing store at veja-store.com/en_in, headed “VEJA Official Indian Website” and labelled “Veja APAC”. Its legal page names only VEJA FAIR TRADE SARL of Paris as the seller. Prices are in US dollars. Standard Colissimo delivery takes 7 to 20 working days for $25, free over $165; Express UPS takes 3 to 9 working days for $30.
Customs duty is paid by the buyer. The shipping page says prices outside the European Union are shown without tax, and duties and taxes “may be invoiced upon receipt of the parcel”. The terms repeat it: non-EU prices “exclude taxes; customers may face additional customs duties”. The storefront does not say how much that will be.
Indian shops and the 2020 drop
VegNonVeg, the Indian sneaker retailer, carried two VEJA product pages on 21 September 2026: a V-10 in extra-white and black, style code VX020005B, and a V12 “Bastille”, code XB021469. Both showed as sold out. The pages name HSS Apparel Pvt Ltd of Okhla Industrial Area, New Delhi, as the marketer. VegNonVeg had no VEJA brand page that day.
VEJA has been sold in India as an event before. In January 2020, the Indo-French Chamber of Commerce reposted a Vogue India report that Bhaane and VegNonVeg brought VEJA to India with a limited-edition drop at India Art Fair 2020. That was a one-off in 2020.
Myntra had no VEJA brand listing on 21 September 2026. Typing “veja” into the search box brought up Puma, Nike, adidas and Skechers instead. That is one marketplace on one day, not a statement that VEJA cannot be bought in India.
- 2004VEJA FAIR TRADE S.A.R.L. created in Paris
- 2018B Corp certification, December
- 2020One-off drop at India Art Fair with Bhaane and VegNonVeg

- 2026India storefront in USD; no Myntra brand listing on 21 September
The Indian sales read ran through VEJA’s own storefront or Indian sneaker retailers.
What VEJA costs in India
There is no rupee price to print. VEJA’s India storefront charges in dollars, before duty, and no Indian shop had a core model in stock on the day. So the table sets VEJA’s own French prices beside its own India-storefront prices, as each is shown, with no conversion.
| Model | Style code | France store (incl. VAT) | India storefront (before duty and tax) | Made in |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| V-10 Leather White Natural | VX0203665 | €140 | $160 | Brazil |
| Campo Leather White Natural | CP0502429 | €140 | $175 | Brazil |
| Esplar Leather White | EA0200001 | €130 | $155 | Brazil |
VEJA’s France and India storefronts, read 21 September 2026. VEJA’s terms say EU prices include VAT and non-EU prices exclude taxes.
The two columns are not like for like. The French price includes VAT, and the India price excludes duty and tax, which may be billed on arrival. Add $25 for standard delivery below $165, or $30 for express. The dollar price on screen is therefore the floor of what an Indian buyer pays, not the total.
VEJA says on its FAQ that it does not take part in Black Friday or private sales. On the France men’s page, other V-10 leather colourways sat at €155 and a Campo canvas at €125.
The dollar price on VEJA’s India store is where an Indian buyer starts, not where the bill ends.
Where VEJA is made
VEJA’s production page covers both countries. It says: “Since VEJA was created, our sneakers have always been made in the same place: Brazil.” It also says that in 2023 VEJA “secretly launched production in Europe” and has “already produced over 100,000 pairs in Portugal”. The India storefront says production is “in Brazil and Portugal”. Each wording is the brand’s own.
The three reference models read — V-10, Campo and Esplar — all say “Made in Brazil”. The production page names Northeast and Southern Brazil, with Porto Alegre in photo captions, and says two Brazilian factories carry Fair Trade Certified status and make up 75% of production.
On pay, VEJA says line workers in its Brazilian factories averaged R$2,015 a month in 2024, and that monthly salaries in Portugal average €1,150. It says it runs a social audit every year. It names neither the factories nor the auditor, and it does not say whether it owns any factory.
What the material claims stand on
VEJA’s selling point is its supply chain, so its project pages and product pages were read on 21 September 2026 for a number and a named standard behind each claim.
| Claim | Figure published | Standard or certifier named |
|---|---|---|
| Wild Amazonian rubber in the sole | Rubber page: “50% of Amazonian rubber”. V-10, Campo and Esplar product pages: outsole 40% Amazonian rubber, with silica, recycled and synthetic rubber | Fair for Life (2019), with Ecocert support |
| Organic cotton canvas | Over 280 tons from 1,350 families in 2024; paid R$29.59 a kilo, “3 times more than the market price” | Peru: GOTS and organic standards; Brazil: a participatory guarantee system |
| C.W.L., the leather alternative | “54% bio-based” on the leather page; “45% of its composition remains petroleum-based” on the limits page | None named |
| B-Mesh from recycled bottles | “Entirely composed of recycled polyester”; no bottles-per-pair figure | None named |
| Bio-based EVA insole | V-10 40%; Campo and Esplar 45% | None named |
| Leather | “ChromeFree” tanning; bovine leather from southern Brazil and Uruguay | Leather Working Group Gold, for all suppliers |
VEJA project pages (rubber, cotton, leather, upcycling, limits) and product pages, read 21 September 2026.
On rubber, the brand-level page says “50% of Amazonian rubber” and the product pages for the three core models give 40% Amazonian rubber in the outsole; the pages do not say whether the two figures are on the same basis. Each figure is the brand’s, quoted with its page.
The cost model is the centre of the pitch. VEJA’s page says 70% of the cost of “a normal big sneaker brand” goes on ads, and that “producing a pair of VEJA costs 5 times more” because of its raw materials. Its FAQ says: “We never advertise.” No breakdown of either figure is published.
VEJA’s limits page lists its own shortfalls. It says the dyes are not natural, the eyelets are “made of metal we didn’t source ourselves”, and that it dropped vegetable-tanned leather, used from 2008 to 2015, for “prohibitive costs and unsatisfactory quality”. The B-Mesh page describes the fabric as “waterproof” and names no test or standard.
Buying a genuine pair
VEJA publishes no per-pair check — no code lookup, hologram or QR code — on the pages read, and no list of authorised Indian sellers. A search of Indian Kanoon for “Veja Fair Trade” and “veja sneakers” on 21 September 2026 showed no Indian judgments.
Distrust a discount
VEJA’s FAQ says: “If the price seems too good to be true, it is likely a counterfeit.” It says it runs no Black Friday or private sales, so a deep VEJA discount is a question.
Read the domain name
The FAQ warns that a domain containing a country, a city, “sale” or “promotions” is likely fraudulent. The official domain is veja-store.com.
Name the seller
On VEJA’s own India store the seller is VEJA FAIR TRADE SARL, Paris. From an Indian shop, read the box for MRP, country of origin and the company answerable for the goods.
VEJA’s own India store carries “en_in” in its web address. That sits after veja-store.com, not in the domain name the FAQ warns about, so it passes the brand’s own test.
Who VEJA is actually for
VEJA suits a buyer who wants a plain leather trainer and cares where the rubber and cotton came from. VEJA publishes the price per kilo it pays rubber tappers and cotton farmers, and a page of its own limits. The Paris company is profitable on the register mirrors, and its founders have managed it since 2004.
For an Indian buyer the path is narrow. Order from the brand’s store and pay $155 to $175 for a core leather model, plus $25 standard delivery below $165, plus whatever duty is billed on arrival. Or watch Indian sneaker retailers such as VegNonVeg, whose VEJA pages were sold out on 21 September 2026. Either way, compare against the brand’s own dollar price.
Common questions
Is VEJA a French brand?
Yes. It is run by VEJA FAIR TRADE S.A.R.L., a private company registered in Paris in August 2004 and managed by its two founders. Its core models are made in Brazil, and the brand says it has also made shoes in Portugal since 2023.
Is VEJA sold in India?
No Indian VEJA company was found in the register search read. Its own India storefront ships from France, priced in US dollars, with customs duty billed to the buyer on arrival. VegNonVeg carried sold-out VEJA pages on 21 September 2026, and Myntra had no VEJA brand listing that day.
Why does VEJA cost more than it looks on the India store?
The storefront’s dollar prices exclude duty and tax, which may be invoiced on delivery. Standard delivery costs $25 below $165 and express $30. The on-screen price is the starting point, not the total.
Is VEJA a B Corp?
Yes. B Lab lists VEJA as certified since December 2018, with an overall B Impact Score of 92.7. The page does not say which year that score was assessed.
How do I spot a fake VEJA?
VEJA publishes no code lookup. Its FAQ warns about prices that look too good and about domains containing a country or “sale”. Buy from veja-store.com or a seller you can name, and read the declaration on the box.

VEJA publishes a great deal about its raw materials: prices per kilo, family counts, a certifier for rubber and cotton, and a page listing its own shortfalls. The French company behind it has been run by the same two founders since 2004 and was profitable in every year the register mirrors carry.
For an Indian buyer the points to weigh are practical. The brand’s pages give 50% Amazonian rubber at brand level and 40% in the core outsoles, and production now includes Portugal as well as Brazil. The “5 times more” cost statement is published without a breakdown. And in India VEJA sells through its own storefront: the $155 to $175 on the India store is before duty, which may arrive as a separate bill.
VEJA publishes more on its materials than on its costs; in India it is an import you order from the brand’s own store, and the price on screen is before duty.
