Locomotive Brand Audit: Bengaluru Shirt Label, Made in India

Locomotive is a Bengaluru menswear label of Brand Studio Lifestyle: shirts, T-shirts and jeans declared made in India, plus its trade marks, prices and returns.
Locomotive brand audit by FashionAudit: Locomotive name and the headline “Bengaluru Shirt Label, Made in India” over a printed shirt and a denim shirt on wooden hangers against a dark wall

Locomotive is a men’s clothing label, shirts above all on the listings read, belonging to Brand Studio Lifestyle Private Limited, a private Bengaluru company whose own site also lists Highlander, Tokyo Talkies and Vishudh among its labels. Its class 25 word mark stands “Registered” in that company’s name, and no document read calls Locomotive a marketplace’s in-house label.

On 29 September 2026 the owner’s name sat on the “Manufactured By” line of most of twenty Locomotive listings opened on a large Indian fashion marketplace, and a third party was seller of record on all twenty. That day Locomotive listings kept more of their printed price than nine other Indian menswear names read alongside them.

The short answer

Locomotive is owned by Brand Studio Lifestyle Private Limited, whose name is printed on its clothing marks on the register mirror and which was named after “Manufactured By” on 16 of the twenty marketplace records opened on 29 September 2026. The seller on all 20 was a third party, RetailNet on 14 and S & S Marketing on 6. Buyers there paid a median ₹1,499 against a median MRP of ₹1,874, or 80.0%, the highest of ten Indian menswear labels read that day. The brand’s own shop, getketch.com, had one of its six Locomotive shirts in stock that day.

Who owns Locomotive

Brand Studio Lifestyle Private Limited is the owner on every document read. ZaubaCorp, a companies-register mirror, gives it as incorporated at the Bangalore registrar on 10 December 2014 under CIN U17290KA2014PTC077711, with paid-up capital of ₹5,26,77,630; Tofler, another mirror, gives the same date and capital. It is private and unlisted, and FashionAudit did not find an annual report or sales by label from it.

The company site lists four labels and elsewhere says “six fashion brands”; trade reports named five in August 2024 and six in February 2025. Locomotive is on every list, but no document read gives it a figure. The company told Storyboard18 on 29 August 2024 that 65% of its revenue came from Highlander and Tokyo Talkies, which puts Locomotive somewhere in the remainder.

Every trade-mark reading here is a mirror reading, taken from QuickCompany’s public copy of Indian register entries rather than from the Registry itself. Three Locomotive marks for clothing in class 25 stand in the full company name, each “Registered”: the word mark No. 4058343, filed 16 January 2019 and valid to 16 January 2029; the label mark No. 3740972, valid to 31 January 2028; and a device mark, “Locomotive Industries”, No. 1616812. The word and label marks claim use since 16 April 2015. Four more, in classes 18, 24 and 35, appear on the search page against the shorter “Brand Studio Lifestyle”, also “Registered”.

A registration answers one narrow question: whose name the register keeps against a word for a class of goods. It does not tell a buyer which workshop sewed a shirt, which firm sold it, or whether a listing carrying the word came from the holder; the pack and the invoice answer those.

The device mark is the oldest of the three, and its record shows the company arriving as a later proprietor. It was filed on 31 October 2007, seven years before Brand Studio Lifestyle was incorporated. The company came onto it through a Form TM-24 request dated 29 April 2015, acted on by an order of 14 September 2017, and the mark was renewed for ten years from 31 October 2017. The mirror page does not give the 2007 applicant.

“M/S. Brand Studio Lifestyle Private Limited Has Been Brought On Record As Subsequent Proprietor”

QuickCompany register mirror, trade mark No. 1616812 “Locomotive Industries”, class 25, read 29 September 2026; TM-24 request of 29/04/2015, order of 14/09/2017.

No mark read carries the name of Myntra, Jabong or Flipkart, and FashionAudit did not find a document naming Locomotive as a platform’s label; Fashion Network’s reports on Myntra’s own labels in February 2019 and July 2023 do not mention it.

How Locomotive reaches the shelf

By the company’s own account in interviews, most of its revenue comes through marketplaces. Images BoF quoted Brand Studio Lifestyle as deriving “approximately 90% of its revenue from leading online marketplaces”, with the other 10% from its direct site; Indian Retailer, on 28 August 2024, had e-commerce at “95% of business”. The two come from different interviews, are not reconciled, and cover every label.

The 25 shops the company had by February 2025, per Indian Retailer, were Highlander, Tokyo Talkies and joint stores; FashionAudit did not find a document placing Locomotive in any of them.

On the twenty marketplace records opened, the seller of record was RetailNet on 14 and S & S Marketing on 6, never the owner.

Locomotive on the shelf

The LOCOMOTIVE brand facet held 2,556 listings on 29 September 2026, with no second Locomotive facet beside it. The first forty in facet order were 27 shirts, 9 T-shirts and 4 pairs of jeans, at a median MRP of ₹1,874 and a median paid of ₹1,499, a share of 80.0%. Just 11 were priced below MRP; the other 29 carried the printed figure. One “Slim Fit Casual Shirt” showed ₹2,949 MRP and ₹1,438 paid. Thirty listings behind the Shirts filter gave a share of 74.1%, again with 11 reduced.

Of the ten Indian menswear names read that day, no other shelf kept as much of its MRP; Leotude came next at 62.5%. The owner’s other label on the list, Highlander, sat at the far end with 25.6%, so one company held both the top and bottom share. Each is one day’s reading of listings in one order, not a pricing policy.

On fabric, the one product page read says “premium cotton fabric”, while the collection page gave a cotton and polyester blend; neither states a percentage.

Where Locomotive is made

No document read has Brand Studio Lifestyle claiming a factory of its own. Its getketch.com About page speaks of “250+ manufacturing partners”. Interviews have given 360 vendors (Storyboard18, August 2024), 300 (Images BoF) and “400 supply partners” (fibre2fashion, August 2025); the counts disagree and are company-wide. Every stated country is India: all 20 marketplace records declared it, the product page says “Designed in India”, and Images BoF puts the vendors “across the country”. The register’s activity code, “1729 (Manufacture of other textiles n.e.c.)”, is a filing category, not a plant.

On an Indian garment pack, the “Manufactured By” field names whoever has signed up to answer for the goods; it is an address for answering, not a description of the sewing floor. Sixteen of Locomotive’s twenty named Brand Studio Lifestyle Pvt Ltd at a Marasur Village address, ten with slashes in the survey numbers and six without. Three named Prateek Apparels Pvt Ltd at 113, Krishna Reddy Industrial Area, Kudlu. One printed “Brandstudio Lifestyle”, run together, at No.113 Krishna Reddy Indl.Area. That string differs from the owner’s registered name and is kept as printed.

Marasur Village is the registered office on the companies mirror. No. 113, Krishna Reddy Industrial Area at Kudlu Gate is the address in getketch.com’s terms. A third address, in Bommanahalli Industrial Area on Begur Road, appears only on the trade-mark records.

Locomotive on the brand’s own shop

getketch.com is the owner’s own shop for Locomotive, and its terms, privacy policy and returns page all name Brand Studio Lifestyle. On 29 September 2026 the home page carried a link reading “SHOP ON MYNTRA”, which led to Highlander’s page on that platform rather than to a Locomotive one.

The site’s Locomotive collection showed six men’s printed slim-fit casual shirts, five marked sold out. The one in stock, style LMSH016016, showed “65% OFF”, in size L only, with the flag “Only 7 Left!”.

Returns, warranty and who answers

getketch.com’s terms name Brand Studio Lifestyle Private Limited as operator and state that “Courts at Bangalore shall have exclusive jurisdiction”. The site’s returns page allows seven days from delivery and one return or exchange per order, for pieces unused, unworn, unwashed, undamaged and still tagged; boxers are excluded “for hygiene reason”. Prepaid orders are refunded to the original payment source “within 5-7 working days” once a quality check is done.

Cash-on-delivery refunds go instead to Ketch wallet points with a one-year life, which the FAQ says can be neither drawn as cash nor sent to a bank account.

On warranty, the terms say manufacturer warranties apply according to product specifications and that the platform adds none of its own. No page read prints a warranty period for a Locomotive garment, so the seven-day window is the only time limit on the pages read. The terms name an individual as grievance officer, reachable on +91-80-45333500, and a second for IT complaints; neither name appears here. The privacy policy gives care@getketch.com.

On the marketplace the seller of record was RetailNet or S & S Marketing, not the owner, so the seller of record and the company on the pack are two different names to contact.

What Locomotive costs in India

Locomotive is an Indian label with no overseas list price to set against its MRP, so the comparison is between two Indian channels on one day.

Marketplace reading, 29 September 2026Median MRPMedian paidShare of MRPReduced
First 40 in the LOCOMOTIVE facet₹1,874₹1,49980.0%11 of 40
30 behind the Shirts filter₹2,049₹1,518.5074.1%11 of 30

Medians of printed MRP and printed selling price; share is median paid as a percentage of median MRP.

The brand’s own shop printed cuts of 60% or more on all four shirts whose prices were read, from ₹1,249 down to ₹499 on the lowest MRP and ₹2,849 down to ₹899 on the highest, although three of those four were sold out. On the marketplace, the median paid was four-fifths of the median MRP. No getketch.com style is known to match a marketplace listing, so this is a gap between two shelves, not two prices for one shirt.

Shoppers weighing Locomotive against other Indian menswear shirt and denim names can compare FashionAudit’s audits of Peter England, Allen Solly and Flying Machine.

Checking a Locomotive is genuine

FashionAudit did not find an authorised-seller list or any statement on unauthorised sellers on a Brand Studio Lifestyle page read. The product page’s “100% Original” is a badge that no policy page read explains.

Check 01

Read the maker line

Of the 20 Locomotive records read, 16 named Brand Studio Lifestyle Pvt Ltd at Marasur Village, 3 named Prateek Apparels Pvt Ltd and 1 printed “Brandstudio Lifestyle”. Ask the seller about any other name on that line before paying.

Check 02

Expect India and no importer

All 20 records declared India as origin and left the importer field blank or “-“. A Locomotive pack naming an importer or a foreign country does not match anything read.

Check 03

Read the spelling closely

The register mirror also shows a “Loco Motive (Logo)” mark and a “Locomoto” mark in class 25, both “Registered” to other proprietors. Those are other marks, not Locomotive’s; check the spelling on the tag against the listing.

Check 04

Do not judge by the discount alone

Twenty-nine of the first 40 marketplace listings were at full MRP, yet the brand’s own shop printed “65% OFF” on LMSH016016. A deep cut alone is no warning sign here.

The record in India

All three Locomotive clothing marks are “Registered” on the register mirror, the 2007 device mark renewed from 31 October 2017 and valid to 31 October 2027.

FashionAudit did not find a decided court case or regulatory order about Locomotive or its owner in the documents read, and those documents were not a full search of Indian courts, so the nil is a narrow one. Nobody has ruled on any Locomotive matter set out here, in the documents read.

Who Locomotive is actually for

Locomotive fits a buyer after a slim-fit casual shirt at around ₹1,500 who will pay near the printed price, since most listings read carried no reduction. The owner’s name on the pack gives a company to write to; the sale itself goes through third-party sellers. Other Indian menswear names on FashionAudit include Blackberrys and Van Heusen.

The FA take

Locomotive is easy to pin to a company and harder to buy from one. Brand Studio Lifestyle’s name is printed on the marks on the mirror and on most maker lines read, so a buyer knows whom to hold to account. Every marketplace listing read had a third-party seller of record, and on 29 September 2026 the owner’s own shop had one Locomotive shirt of six in stock.

On the shelf the label held its price: the first 40 listings’ median paid was 80.0% of their median MRP, the highest share of ten menswear names read. The fabric wording differs between two pages, and no warranty period appears on the pages read.

A traceable Bengaluru shirt label, bought through third-party sellers at close to its printed price; keep the invoice.
