Calvin Klein sells in India through a joint venture that licenses the name from its own half-owner. We read 40 Calvin Klein Jeans product records on Myntra on 15 September 2026 for origin, seller and price, and 100 listings on each of its three shelves. The clothes also sit under a name most shoppers never think to search for.
Calvin Klein in India is a licensed name rather than an Indian-owned brand. PVH Corp owns the trademark, and a 50:50 joint venture called PVH Arvind Fashion Private Limited holds the Indian licence. Across 100 apparel listings read on 15 September 2026 the brand charged 67.6% of MRP, with 89 of them reduced. Of 40 records read in full, 19 declared Bangladesh as country of origin and 7 India.

What the Calvin Klein listings declare
On 15 September 2026 we read 40 Calvin Klein Jeans records in full on Myntra. Seven carried an entry on the manufacturer-or-importer line, between them showing six distinct strings. The other 33 carried nothing. Country of origin was declared on all 40, and net quantity on 36.
For comparison, Tommy Hilfiger, sold by the same Indian company, showed the line empty on 27 of 40. Gap left the line blank on 9 of 40 and Marks & Spencer on 6.
What that reading does and does not mean
Two limits matter. A declaration block on a shopping page is not the physical label on the package, and nothing we read establishes what the garment’s own tag carries. This is a count of what the listing pages showed, not a finding against anyone.
What a shopper can take from it is practical: on most records read, the listing page did not show the manufacturer or importer, so ask to see the declaration on the package before you pay.
Same parent, two different sellers
Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein are not cousins in India. They are one company. PVH Arvind Fashion Private Limited holds the Indian licence for both marks, from PVH, which owns half of it.
Yet the two answer the simplest question differently. On Tommy Hilfiger records the seller of record is PVH Arvind Fashion Private Limited itself, on 34 of 40. On Calvin Klein Jeans records, two third-party sellers were the seller of record shown on 34 of 40 between them.
Same parent, same Indian company, two different sellers of record on the listings.
| Read on 15 September 2026 | Calvin Klein Jeans | Tommy Hilfiger |
|---|---|---|
| Manufacturer-or-importer line blank | 33 of 40 | 27 of 40 |
| Seller of record | Two third-party sellers, 34 between them | PVH Arvind Fashion Pvt Ltd 34 |
| Net quantity declared | 36 of 40 | 25 of 40 |
| Share of MRP charged, 100 listings | 67.6% | 62.0% |
Three Calvin Kleins, and the clothes are not on the obvious one
Type the brand name into the country’s largest fashion marketplace and you land on the wrong shelf. The plain Calvin Klein listing page held 1,064 items on 15 September 2026, and what it sells is caps, handbags and fragrance. The clothes sit under Calvin Klein Jeans, a separate shelf of 4,078 items where T-shirts were 34 of our 100-listing sounding and jeans 31. Underwear has a third shelf of 742 items, half of them briefs.
The three shelves also price very differently on the same day.
| Shelf | What it mostly sells | Share of MRP charged |
|---|---|---|
| Calvin Klein Jeans | T-shirts, jeans | 67.6%, 89 of 100 reduced |
| Calvin Klein | Caps, handbags, fragrance | 73.5%, 65 of 100 reduced |
| Calvin Klein Underwear | Briefs, trunks | 88.5%, 52 of 100 reduced |
Twenty-one points separate the apparel shelf from the underwear shelf: one name, one platform, one day. Medians moved the same way, at ₹5,055, ₹4,670 and ₹2,699.
The company that actually holds the name
The company was incorporated on 31 March 2011 as Premium Garments Retail Private Limited, three years before Arvind came into it. On 24 March 2014 Arvind replaced PVH’s earlier joint venture partners, and Calvin Klein, Inc. signed a fresh licence covering Calvin Klein Jeans apparel and accessories and Calvin Klein Underwear for India.
- Premium Garments Retail Private LimitedIncorporated 31 March 2011
- Calvin Klein Arvind Fashion Private LimitedRenamed 19 May 2016, after Arvind joined in 2014
- PVH Arvind Fashion Private LimitedRenamed 9 September 2020, after the Tommy company merged in
The name suggests Tommy Hilfiger took Calvin Klein in. The record says the reverse: Tommy Hilfiger Arvind Fashion Private Limited was merged into the Calvin Klein company, with an appointed date of 1 April 2019 and a tribunal order sanctioning the scheme on 14 July 2020.
What PVH says it owns
PVH’s own annual report to the American securities regulator, for the year ended 1 February 2026, puts the structure in two sentences. The company “owns a 50% economic interest in PVH Arvind Fashion Private Limited”, and that company “licenses from certain Company subsidiaries the rights to the TOMMY HILFIGER and Calvin Klein trademarks in India for certain product categories”. PVH carries it as an unconsolidated affiliate and took dividends of $5.7 million from it in 2025. Four credit rating releases between 2020 and 2025 describe the same 50:50 split, held through PVH B.V.
One trade report of 4 August 2025 describes Arvind as holding the majority; PVH’s annual filing and the rating releases read describe a 50:50 split.
Where a securities filing and a trade report describe ownership differently, this page follows the filing.
What the Calvin Klein joint venture earns
The Indian company’s numbers are readable, and they have grown fast. Total operating income went from ₹670 crore in FY22 to ₹1,404 crore in FY25, with profit after tax of ₹151 crore in FY25. A register mirror gives FY25 revenue of ₹1,424 crore instead; the two figures are on different definitions and we print both.
- FY22₹670 crore, profit after tax ₹62 crore
- FY23₹1,024 crore, profit after tax ₹101 crore
- FY24₹1,242 crore, profit after tax ₹137 crore
- FY25₹1,404 crore, profit after tax ₹151 crore

Source: CARE Ratings press releases on PVH Arvind Fashion Private Limited, 2023 to 2025.
That is the limit of what anyone outside the company can say about the brand’s size here. The ratings do give a split: 61% Tommy and 39% Calvin Klein in FY23 and FY24, moving to 60:40 in FY25. Multiply that out and you get a number, but it is arithmetic on a percentage, not a published figure.
How many Calvin Klein stores, then?
Three answers, on three different bases. The rating release counts 568 joint venture stores at 31 March 2025, of which 218 are Calvin Klein, mixing 174 exclusive outlets, 381 shop-in-shops and 13 outlet stores. Arvind Fashions’ annual report for the same year reports 80 Calvin Klein stores across 35 cities. A trade report of August 2025 says 85. The 218 counts every format; the 80 and 85 look like exclusive outlets only, and no document we read says so outright.
What Calvin Klein costs in India
There is no global-versus-India price comparison on this page. No Calvin Klein style code we could match gave a foreign list price against an Indian one, so any conversion would be a guess wearing the clothes of arithmetic. What we have is a reading of the Indian shelf.
The apparel shelf charged 67.6% of MRP on 15 September 2026, with 89 of 100 listings reduced. That is a middling position among the imported names: Diesel charged 48.4% that day, Ralph Lauren 93.2%, and Tommy Hilfiger 62.0%. The practical reading is simple: on the apparel shelf, MRP is a starting figure rather than a price, and buying at it means paying about a third more than the shelf was actually asking.
Can customs duty explain the price?
Not on every garment, because not every garment is imported. Of the 40 records we read, 7 declared India as the country of origin. For those there is no import at all, so duty cannot be part of the answer. The rest declared Bangladesh on 19, Vietnam on 7 and Sri Lanka on 5.
India has given Bangladeshi apparel duty-free access on a widening list since 2011, and runs a preference scheme for least-developed countries under which most tariff lines are duty free. Whether these garments fall inside the exclusion lists is not settled line by line by any source we read, and the published clothing tariff average did not come out the same way twice. So this audit states no duty rate for Calvin Klein garments. For comparison, Levi’s declared India as origin on 37 of 40 records the same day.
What the brand publishes, and what it does not
PVH does publish a chemical standard, and it is a real one. Its restricted substances document applies the AFIRM restricted-substances list to all products for all PVH brands, names the ZDHC manufacturing restricted substances list, and says the company uses valid OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certificates, bluesign certificates or verification testing to check compliance. It records a 2020 ban on all C8 and higher fluorinated compounds.
These are corporate supply-chain standards covering how a group buys and tests, not certificates granted for a particular shirt on an Indian shelf, and no source we read ties one to a specific Indian style. The Indian product pages read do not cite tests for fabric or fit descriptions, and no mill, fabric supplier or factory list was found.
Authentication
We found no published authentication method for Calvin Klein, such as a code or serial check, and no published list of authorised sellers for India. PVH’s own anti-fraud page acknowledges counterfeits of its brands online and in physical stores, advises caution with unauthorised retailers and gives an address for reports, but names no retailer as authorised and offers no way to verify a product.
Some brands do publish such tools: Moncler, for example, runs a code-checking page at code.moncler.com. No equivalent page for Calvin Klein was found.
Search the right shelf
The plain name brings up caps, bags and fragrance. The clothes are under Calvin Klein Jeans, the vests and briefs under Calvin Klein Underwear.
Read the declaration before you pay
On 33 of 40 records the manufacturer-or-importer line was empty. In a shop, ask to see the declaration on the package itself.
Look at who the seller of record is
On Tommy Hilfiger records it is usually the joint venture itself; on Calvin Klein Jeans records it is often a third-party seller. Note the name and keep it with the invoice.
Do not expect a code to scan
With no published authentication method to check against, judge the seller, the channel and the price instead.
Never pay MRP on the apparel shelf
Nine listings in ten were reduced and the shelf charged 67.6% of MRP. Underwear is the opposite: only half the listings moved at all.
Reputation and what is on the record
Two matters involving the brand in India have been decided, and both were brought by the trademark owner against counterfeiters. In a suit brought by Calvin Klein Trademark Trust and another, the Delhi High Court decreed the suit on 8 December 2023, granting a permanent injunction against the fifth defendant with damages of ₹10 lakh and costs of ₹1 lakh payable within eight weeks. That was a final disposal, and the judgment we read records no appeal.
In a second suit brought by Calvin Klein Trademark Trust, the same court passed a decree on 6 May 2025 against six defendants, with a permanent injunction and damages of ₹50,000 each against three of them and ₹1 lakh each against three more. Again a final decree rather than an interim order, with no appeal recorded in the judgment we read.
Neither case is against the Indian licensee, the joint venture, or any marketplace or seller named on this page. Both are the brand owner enforcing its mark against counterfeiters.
We found no advertising adjudication against Calvin Klein in the Advertising Standards Council of India material we read on 15 September 2026. ASCI is a self-regulatory body and its recommendations are not law. This records that nothing was found in the material read.
Who Calvin Klein is actually for
It suits a buyer who wants a recognisable American name on a well-cut T-shirt or a pair of jeans, will wait for the discount that almost always comes, and does not much mind who the seller of record is. At around ₹5,000 for the median apparel listing, that is a fair trade against Indian premium labels.
It suits less well anyone who wants the maker or importer named on the listing page, because most records read left that line empty. It also suits the underwear buyer badly, at least on price: that shelf barely discounts, only half its listings were reduced, and a ₹2,699 median for briefs and trunks is close to full ask.
Common questions
Who owns Calvin Klein in India?
Nobody in India owns the brand. PVH Corp owns the trademark and licenses it to PVH Arvind Fashion Private Limited, a 50:50 joint venture between PVH and Arvind Fashions Limited, based in Ahmedabad.
Is Calvin Klein the same company as Tommy Hilfiger in India?
Yes. One Indian company holds both licences. It was set up as the Calvin Klein vehicle and the Tommy Hilfiger company was merged into it, with a tribunal order of 14 July 2020, after which it took its present name.
Why does a search for Calvin Klein show caps and perfume?
Because the brand runs three separate shelves on the marketplace. The plain name is accessories and fragrance. The clothes sit under Calvin Klein Jeans, and underwear under Calvin Klein Underwear.
How can I check a Calvin Klein garment is genuine?
We found no published authentication method, so there is no code or serial to check. PVH’s anti-fraud page acknowledges counterfeits and takes reports, but publishes no verification tool and no list of authorised retailers for India.
Is Calvin Klein made in India?
Partly. Of 40 records read on 15 September 2026, 7 declared India as country of origin, 19 Bangladesh, 7 Vietnam and 5 Sri Lanka.
How much does Calvin Klein discount?
On the apparel shelf, a lot: 89 of 100 listings were reduced and it charged 67.6% of MRP on 15 September 2026. On underwear, far less, at 88.5% with 52 of 100 reduced.

The product is fine and the pricing is beatable. A median apparel listing at ₹5,055, on a shelf charging 67.6% of MRP with 89 listings in 100 reduced, says that MRP is a starting figure here. Wait for the markdown, which is almost always there, and Calvin Klein is reasonable value against Indian premium labels. Pay MRP and you have overpaid by about a third.
The listings give a buyer less to go on than the price. The joint venture is the seller of record on most Tommy Hilfiger records, while the Calvin Klein Jeans records read named third-party sellers, and 33 of those 40 did not show a manufacturer or importer. We found no published authentication method or authorised-seller list for India, so the seller and channel matter more than usual.
Good value on discount for jeans and T-shirts; buy on the right shelf, from a seller you have checked, and read the package declaration before you pay.
