Cantabil Brand Audit: Factory, Job Workers and Traders

Who owns Cantabil, which Delhi company signs and sells every pack read, how its garments split between factory, job workers and traders, and what it costs.

Cantabil is a clothing name that belongs to a Delhi company, Cantabil Retail India Limited, quoted on the NSE as CANTABIL and on the BSE under scrip code 533267. The company’s corporate site describes its business as “designing, manufacturing, branding and retailing of apparels under the brand name of CANTABIL”, and says it “moved up the value chain from a garment manufacturer to a retailer by launching its first exclusive brand outlet in 2000.”

Read on 29 September 2026, cantabilshop.com priced a pure-cotton white formal shirt at ₹1,399 against an MRP of ₹2,799. That day, on a large Indian fashion marketplace, Cantabil Retail India Limited was both the seller and the name under “Manufactured By” on each of the 20 records opened. What stands behind that one name is the subject here.

The short answer

The trade-mark mirror prints Cantabil Retail India Limited on the class 25 Cantabil marks; the company operates the brand’s shop, and was seller and signatory on every marketplace declaration opened on 29 September 2026. On its call of 19 May 2026 the company put “own manufacturing” at 60%, made up of about 25% from its Bahadurgarh factory and 35% from job workers; ICRA’s rationale of September 2025 gives the same two shares and puts the other 40% with direct traders. The shop allows seven days for a return, states no product warranty on the pages read, and gives a support inbox but no named grievance officer.

Who owns Cantabil

The companies-register mirror at zaubacorp.com prints Cantabil Retail India Limited as a listed public company incorporated on 9 February 1989 under ROC Delhi, status “Active”, with its registered office at B-16, Ground Floor, Industrial Area, Lawrence Road, Delhi 110035. Its earlier names were Kapish Sales Pvt Ltd, Kapish Products Private Limited and Cantabil Retail India Private Limited. A second mirror, quickcompany.in, agrees on the date and status but prints another corporate identity number and a paid-up capital of ₹16,32,76,080 against zaubacorp’s ₹16,72,76,080, so neither identity number appears here.

Every company and trade-mark reading on this page comes from those two sites, which mirror the official registers and are not the registers themselves; all were read on 29 September 2026. The word mark “Cantabil”, No. 942934, class 25 for “Hosiery And Readymade Garments”, is “Registered”; it was filed on 27 July 2000 and claims use from 10 April 1997, the applicant’s own claim. A note records the proprietor’s name as “altered to M/S Cantabil Retail India Limited”, on a request of 11 March 2010 decided on 17 January 2014. “Cantabil (Device)”, No. 1851807, “Cantabil Car&man Device”, No. 968343, and “Device Of Horse With Men”, No. 4838669, are class 25 and “Registered” too. None of the four shows a registered user.

Those entries settle less than they seem to. They show whose name stands against the word and the devices in the clothing class, and each entry’s last status; they cannot show whether the holder makes anything, who sells the goods, or whether any licence exists. The shop and the pack answer that, and both lead back to the mark holder.

On its call of 19 May 2026 the company told analysts that revenue from operations for the year to 31 March 2026 was ₹852.6 crore, against ₹721.1 crore a year earlier, and profit after tax ₹95.8 crore, against ₹74.9 crore; an Indian Retailer report of 20 May 2026 repeats the figures. They are the company’s words as transcribed and reported, not the audited filings.

Cantabil on the shelf

The Cantabil facet on a large Indian fashion marketplace held 4,371 listings on 29 September 2026. A neighbouring facet, “Crozo By Cantabil”, held 17 listings; the figures below are for the Cantabil facet alone.

The opening 40 in facet order made a mixed rail, led by 11 jeans, 8 pairs of casual shoes, 8 shirts, 5 caps and 4 trousers. Their median MRP was ₹3,799 and their median selling price ₹1,586.50, or 41.8% of MRP, and none of the 40 was at full price; a pair of Comfort Trousers marked ₹3,499 sold at ₹1,574. Behind a Jeans filter, 30 listings gave a median MRP of ₹3,999 and a median paid of ₹1,776.50, or 44.4%, all reduced. Among ten Indian menswear names read that day, the unfiltered 41.8% ranked sixth from the top.

Twenty of the 40 were opened for their declarations: 10 jeans, 4 trousers, 3 pairs of casual shoes, a cap, a jacket and a shirt. The seller of record was Cantabil Retail India Limited on all 20, origin India on all 20, and the importer field blank on 19 with a dash on the last. Every “Manufactured By” line named CANTABIL RETAIL INDIA LIMITED, though not at one address: 11 gave C-12 Lawrence Road, eight of them written “C12”, and 9 gave B-16 Lawrence Road, some spelt “LAWRANCE”, five spellings in all.

Where Cantabil is made

India, on every declaration read. The field naming Cantabil Retail India Limited records legal answerability: under Indian packaging rules it identifies whoever stands behind the goods, which need not be whoever cut or sewed them. Both addresses on it are on Lawrence Road Industrial Area in Delhi: B-16 is the registered office on the register mirror, and C-12, whose use no document read explains, is on the shop’s contact and product pages. Neither is Bahadurgarh, and no record says whether a given pair of jeans came from the company’s plant, a job worker’s unit or a trader’s stock.

The one plant the company owns is at Bahadurgarh in Haryana. ICRA describes a “fully integrated manufacturing facility” with “an annual installed capacity of around 18 lakh pieces”, expected to reach about 20 lakh. On the May call the company listed its output as the “suit, coat blazer category, formal trouser, formal shirt”, and in August it said Haryana’s “30%, 35% hike” in minimum wages had affected the factory. No document read names another country of production or mentions imported garments.

What Cantabil counts as its own manufacturing

The company gave its 60% figure together with a breakdown.

60% is own manufacturing through our dedicated Bahadurgarh factory … which as of now is fulfilling about 25% requirement, plus my job worker is 35%.

Cantabil Retail India Limited, Q4 FY26 earnings call, 19 May 2026, from the full transcript published by Alpha Spread; read 29 September 2026.

The “60% own manufacturing” therefore joins two different things: about a quarter of requirements from the Bahadurgarh plant, and about 35% from job workers, outside units the company describes as under its control. ICRA’s rationale of 11 September 2025 gives the same shares in its own wording, about 25% of apparel in-house and about 35% from “job workers/fabricators”, and names the remaining share: about 40% from direct traders, which is to say bought in.

What the company calls its own

  • Bahadurgarh factory, about 25%
  • Job workers it controls, about 35%
  • Together, “largely 60%” on 19 May 2026

What ICRA adds

  • Direct traders, about 40%
  • No job worker or trader named
  • None of the three routes visible on a pack

The same call gave the reason. The company said that “we are actually core retailers. So, our focus area is retail”, and that further demand “largely would be outsourced to the job worker rather than establishing one more own plant”. No document read names or counts either group. The single name on every pack tells a buyer who answers for the garment; the three routes are where the company says its garments come from.

Returns, warranty and who answers

On the brand’s own shop there is one company to deal with: the terms, return, refund and contact pages all carry Cantabil Retail India Ltd. in the footer.

Returns and exchanges are allowed for seven days from delivery, for items “in their original, unused condition with barcodes, tags, labels and brand packaging intact”. “Altered garments are not eligible for return or refund,” and “Exchanges are only allowed for size changes of the same product.” The policy adds: “Returns are not applicable for innerwear, accessories, blazers, 2 piece suits and 3 piece suits”, which are among the tailored lines the company says its own factory makes. Refunds go to the account used to pay, or by NEFT for cash on delivery, “within 07-10 working days” of the product arriving back; cancellation is open for 24 hours, and “The partial cancellation of order is not allowed.”

No page read offers a product warranty; the terms supply the website “on an ‘as is’ basis without any warranties either express or implied whatsoever”. The terms, privacy policy, FAQ and contact page name no grievance officer, offering support@cantabilshop.com, +91 7400044155 and Monday-to-Saturday hours. A shopper on cantabilshop.com therefore holds a week, a swap limited to size, a refund inside ten working days of the parcel’s return and a support inbox, and for a blazer or suit bought there, no return under the policy at all.

What Cantabil costs in India

No document read prints a Cantabil price outside India or mentions imported garments. The shop’s prices on 29 September 2026, “inclusive of all taxes”, are set out as read.

Read on cantabilshop.com on 29 September 2026. Marketplace figures elsewhere on this page were read the same day.

Every men’s shirt and trouser on the shop’s men’s collection page that day sold at roughly half its MRP, a one-day reading, not a history; the marketplace’s opening 40 had a median paid of 41.8% of their median MRP. The shop’s terms add their own tax wording: apparel and footwear “with a sale value not exceeding ₹2,500 shall attract 5% GST, while items exceeding ₹2,500 shall be charged at 18% GST”.

Shoppers weighing other formal-shirt and trouser names will find this site’s audits of Raymond and Arrow India set out on the same lines.

Checking a Cantabil is genuine

No page read on cantabilshop.com addresses authenticity, authorised sellers or copies, so these checks rest on what the packs and the shop do print.

Check 01

One company on two lines

All 20 marketplace records read named Cantabil Retail India Limited as seller of record and under “Manufactured By”. If either line carries another name, ask before paying.

Check 02

A Lawrence Road address in Delhi

The records gave C-12 or B-16 Lawrence Road, in five spellings including “C12” and “LAWRANCE”. Both forms appeared among the records read, so spelling on its own settles nothing.

Check 03

Match the style code on the shop

cantabilshop.com prints codes such as MSHF00366EWHITE. Set a listing’s fabric and MRP beside the shop’s page for the same code before paying.

Check 04

Price it against the shop

On 29 September 2026 cantabilshop.com sold its formal shirts and trousers at about half MRP. A price far under that is deeper than the owner itself was cutting.

The record in India

ICRA’s rationale dated 11 September 2025 records its [ICRA]A (Stable) and [ICRA]A2+ ratings on the company as reaffirmed, and the register mirror shows the company “Active”. The one registry decision in the documents read is the 17 January 2014 alteration of the proprietor’s name on mark No. 942934. A search on 29 September 2026 pairing the company’s name with judgment, order, consumer commission, High Court, SEBI and trademark did not find any decided case or regulatory action against Cantabil Retail India Limited or its label, and ICRA’s rationale discloses none. Nobody has ruled on anything this page describes about Cantabil; the 25, 35 and 40 split is the company’s own account, matched in a rating agency’s earlier rationale.

Who Cantabil is actually for

Cantabil suits a buyer after office shirts, trousers and suits at the price being charged rather than the one printed, who wants one company behind the mark, the shop and the pack. On the company’s own figures about 25% of its apparel comes from its Bahadurgarh factory, about 35% from job workers and about 40% from traders, so the “Manufactured By” line names the company that answers for a garment rather than the unit that sewed it. Anyone wanting a product warranty, a named grievance officer, or the option of sending back a suit bought online will not find them on the shop’s pages read. For the high-street alternatives, this site has audited Reliance Trends and Westside.

Common questions

Who owns Cantabil?

Cantabil Retail India Limited, a Delhi company listed on the NSE as CANTABIL and the BSE as 533267, shown “Active” on a register mirror. The four class 25 Cantabil marks read on the trade-mark mirror are “Registered” to it, and it runs cantabilshop.com.

Is Cantabil an Indian brand?

Yes. The owning company was incorporated in Delhi on 9 February 1989, on the register mirror, and says it opened its first exclusive brand outlet in 2000. Every marketplace record read on 29 September 2026 declared India as the country of origin.

Does Cantabil make its own clothes?

Partly. The company told analysts on 19 May 2026 that its factory at Bahadurgarh, Haryana, meets about 25% of requirements and job workers about 35%. ICRA’s rationale of 11 September 2025 gives the same figures and adds about 40% from direct traders.

Can I return a Cantabil blazer bought online?

Not under the return policy read on 29 September 2026, which excludes innerwear, accessories, blazers and two- and three-piece suits. Other unused items can be returned or exchanged for size within seven days of delivery.

What does the Delhi address on a Cantabil listing mean?

It identifies Cantabil Retail India Limited as the party answerable for the goods. The C-12 and B-16 Lawrence Road addresses printed there are in Delhi; the company’s only factory named in the documents read is at Bahadurgarh.

The FA take

Cantabil is one of the tidier Indian menswear names to trace. One listed Delhi company is printed on the clothing marks, runs the shop, and sold and signed for every marketplace record read on 29 September 2026, and a formal shirt listed at ₹2,799 was selling at ₹1,399 on its own site that day.

The detail sits behind the pack. By the company’s own account its Bahadurgarh factory meets about a quarter of requirements and job workers about 35%, and ICRA puts the remaining 40% with direct traders, none of them named. The shop gives seven days, no warranty and no grievance officer named on the pages read, and its policy takes back no blazer or suit bought online.

Pay the half-price the owner itself charges, remember that a suit or blazer ordered online falls outside the return policy, and read “Manufactured By” as the company that answers, not the place that sewed.
