This Chemistry is a women’s casual-wear label sold at chemistryindia.com. It is not Juicy Chemistry, the skincare brand FashionAudit has audited separately, whose company is JUICY CHEMISTRY PRIVATE LIMITED of Coimbatore; no document read ties the two. The womenswear site’s terms, read 29 September 2026, make CHEMISTRY DESIGN PVT. LTD. of Mumbai the party to every sale.
Read 30 September 2026, the Chemistry facet of a large Indian fashion marketplace listed 9,030 items, and 20 declarations were opened. Chemistry Design Private Limited was seller of record on six. Its company name was printed on none of the 20 “Manufactured By” lines: its own six carried the word “Chemistry” and a Colaba address, and the other fourteen carried outside firms’ names, twelve of them the seller’s own apart from capitals.
Chemistry belongs, on the documents read, to Chemistry Design Private Limited, a Mumbai private company incorporated in 2014 and printed by a trade-mark mirror as proprietor of two “Registered” class 25 CHEMISTRY marks. It sold 6 of 20 marketplace records read on 30 September 2026; outside firms sold the rest and were named as maker on them, and the company’s own records named the brand word, not the company, as maker. The site’s undated terms name a second company, ANS Digital, as operator, and its own pages give a 14-day and a 30-day return window. Own-site prices ran ₹760 to ₹3,999.

Who owns Chemistry
The label’s own paper points to one company. The terms and conditions of chemistryindia.com say the site “is independently owned by CHEMISTRY DESIGN PVT. LTD.”, that a shopper placing an order is “entering into a purchase/sale transaction with CHEMISTRY DESIGN PVT. LTD.”, and that “All names, brands, trademarks, and logos on the website are the property of” that company. The contact page gives the name in full, CHEMISTRY DESIGN PRIVATE LIMITED, at “Esjay House” on Plot A74/2, MIDC, Koper Khairane, Navi Mumbai.
Register mirrors, which copy the Registrar’s data and are not the filings, carry Chemistry Design Private Limited as “Active”, incorporated on 17 February 2014 at the Mumbai registrar, with paid-up capital of ₹5,27,50,000 against ₹8,10,00,000 authorised. None of the mirrors read printed a revenue, profit or net-worth figure for it, and no filing read says who owns its shares.
The About page says the brand was “founded in 2005” as “an affordable premium Indian brand creating casual fashion for women”, with two lines added in 2021, “Sleep by Chemistry” and “Modern Indian”. Another company turns up nearby. ESJAY INTERNATIONAL PRIVATE LIMITED, incorporated 4 February 1993 and “Active”, has its registered office at A-74/2 MIDC Kopar Khairane, the plot the brand’s contact page calls “Esjay House”, and it was the original proprietor of one CHEMISTRY mark.
The trade-mark lines below come from quickcompany.in on 29 September 2026. It is a privately run copy of the Indian register, not the Registry itself. Such a copy tells a reader the applicant’s name as filed, the goods, the dates and the last status it picked up. It says nothing on who cuts or ships a skirt, whether anyone licenses the word, or what changed since its last refresh.
On that copy, two class 25 CHEMISTRY marks print Chemistry Design Private Limited, at 1st Floor, Elysium Mansion, 7 Walton Road, Colaba, as proprietor. No. 2020941 records that the company “became subsequent proprietor via assignment deed dated 16/07/2019, replacing the original proprietor Esjay International Pvt. Ltd.” That is the transfer of one mark, dated, and not a change in who controls any company. A search of the word on the same mirror returns at least six different proprietors across classes 25, 35 and 42, including a Ludhiana firm that holds a separate class 25 registration, No. 1766401, shown in the table below.
| No. | Mark | Class | Status | Filed | Use claimed from | Proprietor as printed | Valid to |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2020941 | CHEMISTRY (device) | 25 | “Registered” | 9 Sep 2010 | 9 Sep 2010 | Chemistry Design Private Limited, Colaba; by assignment from Esjay International Pvt. Ltd., deed dated 16/07/2019 | 9 Sep 2030 |
| 4682020 | CHEMISTRY | 25 | “Registered” | 1 Oct 2020 | 22 Sep 2004 | Chemistry Design Private Limited, Colaba | 1 Oct 2030 |
| 1766401 | CHEMISTRY (device) | 25 | “Registered” | 22 Dec 2008 | 1 Apr 2004 | Chemistry Jeans Co., Ludhiana | 22 Dec 2028 |
Copied from quickcompany.in, which mirrors India’s trade-mark register, on 29 September 2026. None of the three records a registered user. Use dates are each applicant’s own claim.
How Chemistry reaches the shelf
The brand shop is chemistryindia.com, and it is run by a second company. Its terms say the site “is operated by ANS Digital Pvt. Ltd. in India (hereinafter referred to as ANS Commerce)”. A register mirror carries ANS DIGITAL PRIVATE LIMITED as an “Active” Delhi company incorporated 10 April 2017. The terms carry no date, and the Terms of Service and Refund Policy pages give a second contact address, chemistry@6degree.co.
The site lists no stores and has no store locator; no company document read counts Chemistry shops, and no document read splits sales by channel. Ajio has a “CHEMISTRY ®” brand page, which showed kurtas on 29 September 2026 with no seller or price, and Flipkart runs a “Chemistry” brand filter. No licence, franchise or distribution deal was found.
What the brand says of its own make-up is brief:
one of the few fashion brands that go from concept to design to manufacturing and retail all in one entity
chemistryindia.com, About page, read 29 September 2026. The page names no factory, no country and no count of outside makers.
Chemistry on the shelf
The facet read 9,030 listings on 30 September 2026. Four neighbours shared the search and were kept apart: “Modern Indian by CHEMISTRY” with 70, Juicy Chemistry with 52, Rare Chemistry with 30 and Color Chemistry with 7. The About page names a “Modern Indian” line; the marketplace files it as a facet of its own.
The first 40 in facet order were led by night suits (9), then skirts (7), sweatshirts (5), coats (5) and lounge pants (3). Median MRP was ₹3,299 and median paid ₹1,802.50, or 54.6%, with 39 of 40 reduced; a Balloon Midi Dress, MRP ₹3,999, sold at ₹1,906. Filtered to dresses, 30 listings gave a ₹3,999 median MRP, a ₹1,906 median paid, 47.7%, with every one reduced.
Among ten Indian clothing names on that shelf the same day, Chemistry’s 54.6% was the third-highest share, behind The Bear House at 80.4% and FableStreet at 58.9%.
Where Chemistry is made
All 20 marketplace declarations gave India as the country of origin. None of the three own-site product pages read, for a denim jean, a rayon shirt and a cotton night suit, prints an origin or a manufacturer at all.
A declaration block answers one question: which party the pack puts forward as answerable for the goods. “Manufactured By” names that party with an address. It is not a list of workrooms, and the address places the named party, not a sewing floor. On Chemistry’s records the field mostly repeats the seller.
The one company around it with an apparel activity code is Esjay International, whose mirror entry reads “Manufacture of wearing apparel”; it is the maker named on one of the 20 records. The About page’s single-entity line names no company.
The names that sign a Chemistry pack
Of ten Indian clothing names read on 30 September 2026, seven had the brand-owning company on a majority of maker lines. Chemistry had it by company name on none. The 20 records, as the fields printed them:
| Seller of record | Records | “Manufactured By”, as printed |
|---|---|---|
| Chemistry Design Private Limited | 6 | “Chemistry, Premises no.3, 1st Floor, Elysium Mansion, 7, Walton Road, Colaba, Mumbai 400001” |
| An outside firm, Ludhiana | 5 | The seller’s own name and a Ludhiana address; also in the importer field on all 5 |
| An outside firm, Gurgaon | 2 | The seller’s own name and a Gurgaon address |
| An outside firm | 2 | The seller’s own name; the address field stopped short |
| An outside firm, Delhi | 2 | The seller’s own name and a Delhi address (1); a shortened form of the name at a similar address (1) |
| ESJAY INTERNATIONAL PRIVATE LIMITED | 1 | ESJAY INTERNATIONAL PRIVATE LIMITED, Plot no. A-74/2… |
| An outside firm, Gurgaon | 1 | A close variant of the seller’s name and a Gurgaon address |
| An outside firm | 1 | The seller’s own name; also in the importer field |
The opening 20 Chemistry listings of a large Indian fashion marketplace’s facet, each opened on 30 September 2026. The importer field was blank on the other 14. A trailing “…” marks where the field stopped.
Two maker lines print a shortened or variant form of the seller’s name, and the company’s own six give the brand word, not its registered name. Each is recorded as printed.
The Colaba address on those six is the Elysium Mansion building the mirror prints on the marks, and the ESJAY record carries the A-74/2 plot of the site’s “Esjay House”. Nothing is built on either.
- Trade-mark mirrorChemistry Design Private Limited on Nos. 2020941 and 4682020, both “Registered”; one assigned from Esjay International in 2019

Returns, warranty and who answers
On 29 September 2026 the site’s policy pages gave a Chemistry buyer two sets of terms. The Returns & Exchange page allows a return or exchange “within 14 days”, charges a ₹100 fee on every return, and wants garments with “all original tags”, not “soiled or torn”. “Last Chance” pieces and buys under a “No Return/Exchange” code cannot go back. The FAQ and the product pages repeat 14 days and ₹100. A separate Refund Policy page gives “30 days after receiving your item”, and prints a ₹30 cash-on-delivery fee, where the FAQ says ₹100. No page read says which figure the company applies.
Prepaid refunds go back to the original payment method in “7-10 working days”, or up to 21 working days. A cash-on-delivery buyer gets no cash: “coupons with the same face value will be given”, redeemable “only on www.chemistryindia.com”.
No page read offers a product warranty; the only warranty sentence in the terms concerns the site, not the clothes: “chemistryindia.com makes no warranties regarding the accuracy of the information on the website”. The contacts given are customercare@chemistryindia.com and chemistry@6degree.co; the contact page gives no telephone number.
The terms send any dispute to Mumbai: “The Courts in Mumbai would have exclusive jurisdiction in any proceedings that arise out of these Terms of Use.”
What Chemistry costs in India
No document read prices Chemistry abroad, so its own shop, read 29 September 2026, is set against the marketplace a day later.
| Item on chemistryindia.com | Style code | Price | Compare-at | Fabric, as printed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Barrel Leg 11oz Denim Jeans | CJ2606 031 | ₹3,299 | None shown | “100% COTTON” |
| Pintucked Rayon Slub Ruffle-Collar Shirt | CHM2606 017 | ₹2,299 | ₹2,299 | “100% RAYON” on the page; “100% viscose slub” in the listing text |

| Beltered Tiered Twill Midi Dress | — | ₹3,999 | — | — |
| Essential Joggers | — | ₹760 | ₹1,899 | — |
Product pages on chemistryindia.com, read 29 September 2026. A dash means the listing read gave no figure.
Shipping is free above ₹2,499, cash on delivery is offered, and delivery is given as “3-10 business days”. The marketplace’s opening 40 Chemistry listings showed a ₹3,299 median MRP, the same figure as the barrel-leg jean, and a median paid of ₹1,802.50; the dress filter’s ₹3,999 MRP matches the own-site midi dress. Those are matching numbers, not matching garments.
Sleep by Chemistry is sold as “only natural origin fabric” with no fibre list or certifier, denim weights such as “11oz” appear without a test standard, and no organic, BCI or OEKO-TEX label appears on any page read. For other Indian womenswear names traced the same way, see our audits of Biba, Libas and Aurelia.
Checking a Chemistry is genuine
No page read on chemistryindia.com names authorised sellers or says where genuine stock can be bought. The checks below come from the declarations and the brand’s own pages.
Note which firm is selling
Chemistry Design Private Limited sold 6 of 20 records read on 30 September 2026; outside firms sold the rest. Keep the invoice and the seller’s name with it.
Read the maker line beside the seller
On 12 records the “Manufactured By” field repeated the selling firm’s name and on two it printed a close variant; on the company’s own 6 it read “Chemistry” with a Colaba address. Note both names and keep them with the invoice.
Look up the style code
Own-site codes run like CJ2606 031 or SW2509 038WSSPJ. Set the code, fabric line and MRP on chemistryindia.com beside the listing you are about to buy.
Read the origin and the importer
All 20 records declared India; most left the importer field blank. A foreign origin on a Chemistry tag would stand apart from every record read.
The record in India
FashionAudit did not find a court, tribunal or regulatory decision involving Chemistry Design Private Limited or Esjay International in the documents read on 29 September 2026. That is a nil for those documents, not a finding that no such decision exists. The public record is otherwise the register: three “Registered” CHEMISTRY marks in class 25, two printed to the Mumbai company and one to a Ludhiana firm.
Nobody has ruled on any point this page records about Chemistry’s marks, sellers or pack lines; each name appears as its own document printed it.
Who Chemistry is actually for
Chemistry suits a shopper after denim, dresses, shirts and sleepwear in the ₹1,750 to ₹3,999 range on the brand’s own site, or at a median paid of 54.6% of the median MRP on the marketplace. On chemistryindia.com the counterparty is the company printed on the marks; on a marketplace it may be a firm in Ludhiana, Gurgaon or Delhi, so read the seller line first. The same questions put to two high-street retailers are in our audits of Westside and Max Fashion.
