Bottega Veneta Brand Audit: Kering’s Last Stand-Alone Figure, Three Indian Boutiques and No Indian Price

Who owns Bottega Veneta, the FY2025 revenue and margin Kering published before it stopped breaking out Houses, why there is no Indian website, price or marketplace shelf, where the bags are made, and what the Certificate of Craft actually covers.

Bottega Veneta is an Italian leather-goods house founded in Vicenza in 1966 and owned by Kering, which bought it through Gucci Group in 2001. For the year to 31 December 2025 Kering published the House’s own numbers: revenue of €1,706 million, recurring operating income of €267 million, a margin of 15.6%.

That is the last stand-alone line Bottega Veneta has. From the first quarter of 2026 Kering reports four segments — Fashion & Leather Goods, Jewelry, Eyewear and Corporate — and the only House broken out by name inside Fashion & Leather Goods is Gucci.

India is thinner still: three boutiques, no Indian website, no rupee price, and no marketplace shelf either.

The short answer

Bottega Veneta belongs to Kering SA, which gave the House a revenue and profit line of its own for 2025 — €1,706 million and €267 million — and then stopped breaking out Houses from the first quarter of 2026, naming only Gucci. In India there is no Bottega Veneta website, no checkout, no rupee price, no grievance officer and no Indian company carrying the name — only three boutiques, listed on 23 September 2026. Myntra showed no Bottega Veneta shelf on 24 September 2026, so no Indian selling price exists and this audit sets no price band.

What Kering publishes about Bottega Veneta, and what it stopped publishing

For 2025 the disclosure was full. Kering’s results release of 10 February 2026 states that “Bottega Veneta revenue amounted to €1.7 billion, stable as reported and up 3% on a comparable basis”, with recurring operating income of €267 million and a margin of 15.6%, up 0.7 points. Its universal registration document, filed with the French market regulator on 21 April 2026 under number D.26-0266, gives the revenue to the million: €1,706 million. Sales through directly operated stores rose 4% comparable while wholesale fell 6%.

Set that against the group: Kering’s 2025 revenue was €14,675 million, down 13% as reported, on recurring operating income of €1,631 million and a margin of 11.1% against the House’s 15.6%.

Then the reporting changed. In the half-year documents of 28 July 2026 the segments are Fashion & Leather Goods, Jewelry, Eyewear and Corporate & Other, and inside Fashion & Leather Goods — €5,800 million of revenue and €828 million of recurring operating income — Gucci alone is given figures, at €2,757 million and €468 million. Bottega Veneta has no revenue line and no profit line in either document. Neither carries an explanation of the change; the one restatement note in them concerns Kering Beauté.

Bottega Veneta, as its owner reports it
  • 1966Founded in Vicenza, Italy
  • 2001Gucci Group acquires it, on Kering’s own timeline
  • FY2025€1,706m revenue, €267m operating income, 15.6% margin
  • Q1 2026Four segments; only Gucci broken out by name

The 2025 figures are the last the House has of its own.

What replaced the numbers is prose. Kering’s release says the House “outperformed again, with all regions delivering a strong sequential acceleration, supported by its performance in leather goods”.

“Bottega Veneta’s momentum remained very strong, recording a sequential improvement compared to the first quarter of 2026” — the whole of what Kering now publishes about the House’s half-year.

There is no store count for the House either: Kering gives 1,719 directly operated stores across the group at 31 December 2025 and 1,415 in Fashion & Leather Goods at 30 June 2026, after “84 net closures” in the first half, but no table by House. Who runs it comes from two releases. Louise Trotter was appointed Creative Director on 12 December 2024, effective at the end of January 2025, after three years of Matthieu Blazy; Romain Spitzer was appointed Chief Executive Officer on 15 July 2026, effective 1 September 2026, in a release that does not name the outgoing chief executive.

How Bottega Veneta reaches India

Not online, and not through any company of its own. There is no Indian version of bottegaveneta.com: the Indian address resolves to the international version, whose women’s bags listing carried 426 products on 23 September 2026 with no prices and no add-to-bag button. It is a catalogue. The footer carries a privacy policy and a cookie policy and no conditions of sale at all, and nowhere on the site is there an Indian address, company number, GST number or grievance officer. The same site does run shops elsewhere — the American and Italian versions price in their own currency and take an order — so the absence here is real.

India appears in one place: the store locator, as one of 45 countries and regions, with three boutiques listed on 23 September 2026 — DLF Emporio in New Delhi, Palladium at Lower Parel and Jio World Plaza in Bandra Kurla Complex. Compare that with an Indian bag brand such as VIP Industries or Safari, whose own pages print an Indian company, an MRP and a grievance officer.

No Indian company carries the house’s name. A name search of a companies-register mirror for “BOTTEGA” showed eight Indian entities on 23 September 2026 — umbrellas, a family bazaar, several partnerships — and not one of them is the house. The same search does return Kering’s Indian company, so it finds what is there: Luxury Goods Retail Private Limited, CIN U51311MH2006PTC162428, incorporated 23 May 2006, status “Active” in the register’s own word, an ordinary private company rather than a foreign subsidiary, with paid-up capital of ₹2.05 crore, filed under wholesale of textiles, clothing and footwear, at One BKC in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai.

Kering’s filing lists that company at 51%, and no Kering document read names who holds the other 49% — a holding short of outright ownership. That percentage comes from an earlier reading of the filing rather than the 2025 edition read for this audit, so take it as the group’s stated position rather than a figure re-checked today. One register mirror carries revenue of ₹265.57 crore for FY2025, described as 18% down, while a second shows the last balance sheet on file as 31 March 2023 — so it is printed here as what one mirror carries. And nothing ties it to Bottega Veneta: this is Kering’s Indian shop, not a seller the house names.

The one document that ties the house to India is a tribunal order. In Reliance Brands Luxury Fashion Pvt. Ltd. v. Principal Commissioner of Customs, decided on 1 April 2024, the customs tribunal’s Delhi bench records the importer’s agreements with foreign suppliers, including a “Distribution Agreement dated 04.11.2015 with Bottega Veneta SA, Switzerland”, under which the foreign parties granted the Indian company “the right to import for distribution and sale in India, products such as shoes, bags, clothing, clothing related accessories, eyewear, perfumery and cosmetic items”. That is 2015, and the tribunal was deciding a dispute about an earlier period. No later document says the arrangement is still in force, and nothing published names the company behind the three counters today — so ask at the counter whose invoice and whose warranty you are being given.

The Indian shelf, and why there is not one

Most foreign luxury bags that do not sell here directly still turn up on an Indian marketplace. Bottega Veneta does not: Myntra’s brand search showed no facet and no listings on 24 September 2026 — and that reading works, because a control brand read the same way the same day, Columbia, returned a full shelf with a median MRP of ₹3,749 and a median price paid at 93.3% of it. Read the same way on the same day, four other European luxury houses each had a Myntra shelf, the largest of them 527 listings. Bottega Veneta had none.

That cuts both ways. There is no discount rail and no third party’s declaration behind a bag, and no Indian listing to check a price against either. The three counters and a trip abroad are the whole of it — so if a bag is offered anywhere else, read the importer and origin lines, and the declaration on the box, before you pay.

What Bottega Veneta costs in India

There is no answer from the house. It publishes no Indian price, no MRP and no “inclusive of all taxes” line, because it runs no Indian shop. What it does publish is two other markets, with the style code on each page.

Bag Product code as printed United States Italy
Small Andiamo, black 866075VCPP11139 $5,200 €4,300
Mini Jodie, gold 651876V4P108922 $3,300 €2,700
Bottega Veneta, India — No price published by the house

Prices as printed on bottegaveneta.com, 23 September 2026, with no conversion and no computed gap. Neither page prints a tax line, so no tax basis is stated for either market.

Price the code, not the name: the American Jodie listing page showed Mini Jodie from $2,800 and colourways at $3,100 the same day.

This is why the page carries no price band. A band here is computed from an actual Indian selling price, and Bottega Veneta has neither one of its own nor a marketplace median to borrow — a fact about the brand, not a gap in the reading. A reader comparing it with an Indian brand such as Wildcraft is comparing two different kinds of object anyway.

On import costs: integrated goods and services tax — the GST charged on imports — runs at 18% on heading 4202, which covers handbags, and the Union Budget annexure cut the rate on goods imported for personal use to 10% from 1 April 2026. The Finance Ministry’s letter accompanying the Finance Bill 2026, dated 1 February 2026, records “Chapter 42-46: No Change”, so leather goods were left alone that year. No basic customs duty rate is printed here, because none came from an official tariff schedule.

Where the bags are made

Per product, the house answers: the Small Andiamo page carries a “Made in:” field reading “Italy” immediately above the product code, read on 23 September 2026.

Across the group the figures are the owner’s, not the House’s. Kering’s 2025 registration document describes “a network of several thousand suppliers located mainly in Europe (87%) and particularly in Italy (78%)” and records “4,124 supplier audits conducted in 2025 regarding social, environmental and sourcing matters” — a share of a group-wide supplier network, and a count of audits rather than of suppliers, with neither saying which Houses they cover. The documents read here give no count of Bottega Veneta’s own workshops or tanneries, so anyone quoting a number of its ateliers is not quoting Kering.

Checking a bag is the real thing

Nothing the house publishes will do it. There is no authenticity page, no serial-number lookup, no code check, no hologram guide and no chip or QR tool on bottegaveneta.com, and the words “serial number” and “counterfeit” do not appear in its American FAQ, read on 23 September 2026. The reading method finds such tools where they exist — Moncler’s product-code verification page, read the same day, is one.

What the footer does offer is the Certificate of Craft, and the house’s own FAQ describes it in these words: “The Certificate of Craft is a complimentary care service offering the possibility of benefiting from reparation services. This service is only offered on a selection of bags. You will only be able to benefit from this service by placing your order with your registered Bottega Veneta account.” That is a repair service, on some bags, tied to an online order — not a check on whether a bag is real. No duration is published with it, and because the house takes no Indian online order, nothing states whether it reaches a bag bought here at all. No warranty page and no warranty term was found on the site either.

The industry route to a digital certificate is open and Kering is not on it. The Aura Blockchain Consortium’s page names LVMH, OTB Group, Prada Group and Richemont as founders and members including Prada, Bvlgari and Tiffany & Co. — so it does name brands — and neither Kering nor Bottega Veneta is on it. Its limit matters: the page says “+50 Members” without a full roster, so this is an absence from a partial list, not from a membership register.

One clause matters before buying abroad: the FAQ states “You can only return items within the same country the parcel was delivered. Stores in different countries will not be able to accept your returns.” So the checks are the ordinary ones — buy at one of the three counters, keep the invoice, match the product code against bottegaveneta.com, and treat a price far below the house’s own as a warning rather than a find.

The record in India

The Indian courts database, searched on 23 September 2026 for the exact name, showed six matters. Three were read in full, and exactly one decided matter names a Bottega Veneta company, which was not a party to it.

That is the customs tribunal order of 1 April 2024. The importer, Reliance Brands Luxury Fashion Private Limited, had been assessed on the footing that its advertising, marketing and promotion outlay under seven distribution and licence agreements should be added to the customs value of the goods it imported. The tribunal disagreed: “The impugned order dated 29.05.2020 passed by the Principal Commissioner, therefore, cannot be sustained and is set aside. The appeal is, accordingly, allowed with consequential relief(s).” The customs side was represented, so this was a contested matter decided on both sides, not one decided in the importer’s absence.

Read it for exactly what it is. It decided that appeal, on that importer’s imports, for the period then in dispute; Bottega Veneta SA was one of seven named foreign suppliers and won and lost nothing by it. Nobody has ruled on how the house’s goods reach India today, or on any Indian boutique, and nothing here is a finding against anyone.

One check stayed shut. The Indian trade-mark register’s public search now needs a one-time-password sign-in, so this audit says nothing about who holds the Bottega Veneta marks here or what their status is — and no brand on this site gets a clean trade-mark sheet on that basis.

Common questions

Can I buy Bottega Veneta online in India?

Not from Bottega Veneta. The Indian web address resolves to an international catalogue with no prices and no add-to-bag button, and the site publishes no Indian seller of record and no grievance officer. Its three Indian boutiques are in New Delhi and Mumbai, as listed on 23 September 2026.

What does a Bottega Veneta bag cost in India?

No Indian price exists. The house prints $5,200 for a Small Andiamo and $3,300 for a Mini Jodie in the United States, and €4,300 and €2,700 in Italy, with no tax line on either page. Indian boutique prices are not published, so this audit sets no price band.

Is Bottega Veneta sold on Myntra or another Indian marketplace?

Myntra showed no Bottega Veneta brand facet and no listings on 24 September 2026, on a day when a control brand read the same way returned a full shelf. Several other European luxury houses did have shelves there that day; this one did not.

Is the Certificate of Craft a way to check a bag is real?

No. The house’s own FAQ calls it “a complimentary care service offering the possibility of benefiting from reparation services”, offered on a selection of bags and tied to an order placed on a registered account. It publishes no serial lookup, code check or verification tool of any kind.

Does Kering still publish Bottega Veneta’s revenue?

Not since 2025. The last stand-alone figures are FY2025 — €1,706 million of revenue and €267 million of recurring operating income. From the first quarter of 2026 Kering reports four segments and breaks out only Gucci inside Fashion & Leather Goods.

The FA take

On the bag itself, Bottega Veneta is among the more answerable houses on this site: the product page names the country of manufacture, the product code sits beside it, and for 2025 its owner published a revenue figure, an operating income and a 15.6% margin the House earned rather than a division total.

Everything an Indian buyer would use has gone the other way: no Indian site, no rupee price, no MRP, no grievance officer, no Indian company carrying the name, nothing on a marketplace to compare against, and nothing published to check that a bag is real — the one service in the footer is repairs on a selection of bags, tied to an online order the house will not take here. From the first quarter of 2026 even the revenue line is gone.

Three counters, two other countries’ prices and no Indian number of any kind: buy it in the boutique, keep the invoice and the product code, and expect nothing from the house about a bag bought anywhere else.
