Lifestyle Brand Audit: The House Labels of a Landmark Chain

Who owns Lifestyle's house labels, how Melange, Fame Forever, Forca, Ginger and CODE reach a shopper, what they cost on the chain's own site and on a marketplace on 25 September 2026, and what the manufacturer line on a Bossini shirt does and does not prove.
Lifestyle brand audit by FashionAudit: Lifestyle logo over a department store clothing rail and shoe display

Lifestyle is a department-store chain, and Melange, Fame Forever, Forca, Ginger and CODE are the labels sold under its name. The company behind them is LIFE STYLE INTERNATIONAL PRIVATE LIMITED, CIN U52190KA1997PTC046775, register status “Active”, “part of Dubai-based retail and hospitality conglomerate – The Landmark Group” on the chain’s own release. Neither company publishes a list of the labels.

The labels reach a shopper through the chain’s stores, its site and “by Lifestyle” pages on two Indian marketplaces. On 25 September 2026 the declared manufacturer on 100 marketplace records was Lifestyle International Private Limited on every one, and five products on the chain’s own site were priced from ₹499 to ₹1,299, selling price equal to MRP on all five. A Bossini shirt on the same site carried the identical line; Bossini belongs to a company listed in Hong Kong.

The short answer

The company declared answerable for Lifestyle’s house labels is Lifestyle International Private Limited of Bengaluru, part of the privately held, Dubai-based Landmark Group; neither company publishes a list of them or a rupee figure. They reach a shopper through the chain’s stores and site, where a second company, Landmark Online India Pvt Ltd, is the seller, and through “by Lifestyle” pages on two marketplaces. On 25 September 2026 the shop’s own pages priced five products at ₹499 to ₹1,299 with no reduction, while the same labels sold at 77% to 89% of MRP on a marketplace. When something goes wrong, the company in the “Manufactured/Imported By” line is answerable, through a toll-free line and a job title rather than a named officer.

Who owns Lifestyle’s labels

The declaration puts one company behind the goods: LIFE STYLE INTERNATIONAL PRIVATE LIMITED, incorporated on 24 November 1997, ROC Bangalore, status “Active”. The mirror carries a second entry in the same name, CIN U00063KA1997PTC023058, status “Inactive for e-filing”, with the same incorporation date, a Primrose Road address and paid-up capital of ₹0.00; nothing read says the two entries are one registration. Above it sits the Landmark Group, privately held, headquartered in Dubai, founded in Bahrain in 1973 on its own account.

Why no accounts for this family exist to read
  • The group’s websiteHome page, “Who We Are” and footer, read 25 September 2026: Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, Partner with Us, and no investor page, results, annual report or ticker. “Registered Office” is a map link with no address printed
  • Where the group sitsPrivately held, headquartered in Dubai, on its own account of itself and on the chain’s release
  • What UAE law requiresFederal Decree-Law No. (32) of 2021 obliges companies to keep accounting registers and LLCs and joint stock companies to appoint auditors and prepare annual accounts. No article read requires publishing them
  • The Indian companyA private limited company filing to the Registrar of Companies. No results release, investor page or annual report of its own was located

Prepared and audited, on the law as read; published nowhere.

The Indian company’s figure reaches the public only through services reading its Registrar filing for the year ended 31 March 2025, and two reports read it differently: PTI, 9 October 2025, gives revenue that “rose 4.9 per cent” to ₹11,766 crore; Apparel Resources, a day later, ₹12,031 crore. Both give profit of ₹415 crore, and both say the company runs the Lifestyle, Max Fashion and Home Centre chains — one number, three businesses, no split, and no own-brand percentage in any document read, so there is nothing to multiply.

Which labels the company owns, it says nowhere. The lifestylestores.com brand pages for Forca, Melange, Fame Forever and Ginger, read 25 September 2026, state no owner: Forca’s calls it “This Indian brand”, Melange’s says the label is “from Lifestyle Stores” — from, not of — and Ginger’s carries no text at all. One document names the family, a trade magazine quoting Lifestyle’s Managing Director on 1 August 2019:

A strong private label offering distinguishes us from the rest in the market – providing consumers a wide variety of styles and trends across categories of apparel, footwear and fashion accessories. We offer something for everyone through our 11 private label brands including 4 franchise brands. Our own brands are – Melange, Ginger, Nexus, Forca, Fame Forever, Code, Juniors and our franchise brands are – Smiley & UCLA. Lifestyle also has exclusive rights to sell international sportswear brands, Bossini and Kappa.

Apparel Resources India, “Power of the Private Labels: Success Strategies of Leading Indian MBOs”, 1 August 2019; read 25 September 2026. Trade press, not a filing.

Count the names: eleven brands claimed, nine listed, and the gap stays. Bossini and Kappa sit outside the family as goods the chain has “exclusive rights to sell”, which is distribution. Seven years on, nothing has replaced it. Compare a listed owner — Trent sets its in-house names out label by label, and the AJIO family comes with 155 declarations behind it.

How the labels reach a shopper

The first route is the chain’s stores, counted two ways by the company’s own numbers: “over 124 stores, in over 49 cities” in its December 2024 release, against 121 department stores at 31 March 2025 in the Registrar filing. The second is lifestylestores.com, where two companies share one building. The “Manufactured/Imported By” line names Lifestyle International at the West Wing of 77 Town Centre; against the buy button sits “Landmark Online India Pvt Ltd”, which the privacy policy also names as running the site — CIN U74900KA2014PTC077810, status “Active”, incorporated 19 December 2014. The answerable party is in one wing, the seller in the other.

The third route is the marketplace. Fame Forever, Forca, Melange, Ginger, CODE, Moiree and Juniors carry “by Lifestyle” brand pages on both marketplaces read; a “Nexus by Lifestyle” page sits on one of the two; and Bossini is listed plainly as “Bossini”. Moiree is on no published list at all, and Giggles appears in the shop’s own Babyshop navigation. Neither the registered name nor the CIN appears anywhere a shopper can see.

The labels on the shelf

On a lifestylestores.com page the declaration sits in the product data, not the description. Five field labels were confirmed word for word: “Country of Origin”, “Manufactured/Imported By”, “Customer Care”, “Net Quantity” and, against the buy button, “Sold By”; no “Packed By”, “Packer”, “Marketed By” or separate “Imported By” field appears. The second states which company carries the legal duty for the goods.

BOSSINI Knitted Regular Shirt, 1000016187580₹1,299 / ₹1,299“Lifestyle International Pvt Ltd”, Yamlur, Bangalore-560037“Landmark Online India Pvt Ltd”

Six lifestylestores.com product pages, read 25 September 2026. Country of origin “India” on all six. The CODE declaration gives PIN 560042 in its manufacturer line and 560037 in the care line beneath it; typing slip or second address, not established.

The last row matters most. Bossini is the brand of Bossini International Holdings Limited, listed in Hong Kong under stock code 592, and its shirt carries the house T-shirts’ manufacturer line word for word, as does a Juniors infant set at ₹899. The line names who is legally answerable for what is sold, house label or Hong Kong brand, and nothing about who owns a name. A manufacturer line is not a title deed.

One large fashion marketplace in India, read the same day, held 4,508 listings under “Fame Forever by Lifestyle”, 1,438 under Melange, 494 under Ginger and 456 under Forca. On 100 of those listings Lifestyle International Private Limited was the declared manufacturer on 100 of 100 at the West Wing address, the seller of record was “LANDMARK ONLINE INDIA PVT LTD” in two spellings, and one Ginger record read “China,India” for origin. On a third marketplace, a Ginger sandal at ₹999 displayed no MRP and no declaration fields at all.

Where the labels are made

“Country of Origin” read “India” on all six lifestylestores.com pages, and the marketplace readings included the one “China,India” entry above. The “Manufactured/Imported By” line does not name a factory: the address in it is the company’s registered office, an office building, and nothing read establishes where any garment was made. The fabric claims are thinner still. Fame Forever’s page offers “modern casual wear that is as sustainable as it is fashionable” — no fibre, no percentage, no standard, no certifier; Melange names fibres without proportions under “Premium Fabrics”; Forca claims a position, not a material; Ginger claims nothing. At product level each statement is a word: “Cotton Blend” with no ratio, “Rayon”, “Cotton”. No durability figure, certification mark or test standard was found.

The labels on the register

Two rows is the whole map, and both come off a public mirror rather than India’s own trade-mark search, which puts a human step before every query; mirrors abbreviate the proprietor field and certify nothing. A row says nothing about what is on a rack this week.

Mark as the mirror prints itApplicationClassFiledStatusProprietor and goods, printed as found
FORCA4444259917 February 2020“Registered”Lifestyle International Private Limited — goods “SUNGLASSES”, journal 1947-0 dated 11 May 2020
FORCA (device)579294933 February 2023“Registered”Lifestyle International Private Limited, Karnataka — cosmetics and toiletry preparations, with the condition “BOTH/ALL LABELS SHALL BE USED TOGETHER.”

Both records opened individually on the register mirror, read 25 September 2026. Office Chennai on both.

Forca is a menswear label, and the only Forca marks located cover sunglasses and cosmetics. For Fame Forever, Melange, Ginger, CODE, Nexus, Moiree, Juniors and Giggles the search did not find a record on the terms used — a limit on the search, not a finding about the register. A tool on another mirror reports class 25 as occupied for FAME FOREVER, FORCA and MELANGE but names no holder, and “Melange” and “Forca” are ordinary words unrelated applicants will have filed. The registers and the declarations between them spell the owner’s name four ways, and the registered name a shopper could look up is on none of the goods. What carries a label into this family is not a register row but two signals read together.

What actually carries a label into this family
  1. Signal one — the brand stringThe facet prints “Fame Forever by Lifestyle”, “Melange by Lifestyle”, “Ginger by Lifestyle”, “Forca by Lifestyle”. No brand the chain merely stocks has that suffix
  2. Signal two — the declarationLifestyle International as declared manufacturer on 25 of 25 records per label
  3. Both togetherGinger and Forca carry both signals — the “by Lifestyle” string and the declaration on the same 50 records
  4. Signal two aloneBossini has the declaration and not the suffix; the marketplace lists it plainly as “Bossini”. A legal duty is not a family tie

Returns, warranty and who answers

No warranty was found on any page read, and no terms or returns page naming the company, a CIN, a GST number or a grievance designation was located. Every product page carries a customer-care line, a job title and a toll-free number — “Manager Commercial” and 1800-123-1555 — never a named grievance officer. The owner’s name is in small print only: a check of the Fame Forever page for the words “Lifestyle International Private Limited” found nothing, and the Ginger page carries neither that name nor “Landmark”. Whatever name is on the garment, the company to raise a problem with is the one in the “Manufactured/Imported By” line; the company against the buy button is a different one, and a sale contract is with the seller.

What Lifestyle’s labels cost in India

Two channels, two price behaviours, one day. On the chain’s own site the selling price equalled MRP on all five products read, with one promotional banner and no reduced figure; on the marketplace, reductions were near-universal.

Brand string on the facetListingsPricedMedian MRPMedian selling priceSelling price against MRPReduced
Fame Forever by Lifestyle4,50840₹999₹84985.0%37 of 40
Melange by Lifestyle1,43840₹1,299₹996.5076.7%39 of 40
Ginger by Lifestyle49440₹449₹39988.9%17 of 40
Forca by Lifestyle45640₹1,849₹1,52982.7%39 of 40
Colour Me by Melange348—————

Facet values with their counts, from one large fashion marketplace in India, read 25 September 2026; the four priced rows taken in listing order and capped at 40 listings each. A bare “Melange” string holding a single listing also sits on that shelf and is not this label.

Named listings, as printed: a Fame Forever polo at ₹999 against ₹849 (45480668); a Ginger pouch at ₹399 with no reduction (39585362); a Ginger culotte jumpsuit at ₹1,699 against ₹1,529 (46085077). These four labels sat between 77% and 89% of printed MRP on that shelf that date, while four labels belonging to the marketplace itself, read the same day, came in between 24% and 37%. Nothing read explains why, and no cause is offered here — the audit of a label a marketplace owns outright is where that question belongs. The MRP fields also differ sharply by channel; these are different garments, not one product priced twice. No price tier is set: five products on one day — three T-shirts, a kurta and a shirt — support no tier and no average.

Checking a Lifestyle label is genuine

Check 01

Read the manufacturer line

On all six shop pages and 100 of 100 marketplace records read on 25 September 2026 it named Lifestyle International at the Yamlur office. Any other company there is a question for the seller.

Check 02

Look for the “by Lifestyle” string

The family’s marketplace pages carry it; no brand the chain merely stocks does, and Bossini is listed plainly as “Bossini”. The suffix tells you whose label it is, not whether it is genuine.

Check 03

Read the seller against the buy button

On the shop’s own site it was “Landmark Online India Pvt Ltd” on every page read; on the marketplace, the same company.

Check 04

Compare the price across the two channels

On 25 September 2026 the shop’s own pages showed selling price equal to MRP; the marketplace medians sat between 77% and 89% of it.

The record in India

The only matters on any register read are the two FORCA registrations, filed 17 February 2020 and 3 February 2023, both “Registered”, and the two company entries sharing one name. The trade-mark search did not find a clothing-class mark for any label, and nobody has ruled on anything here.

Who Lifestyle’s labels are actually for

These labels suit a buyer who wants ₹499 to ₹1,299 basics from a chain whose product pages name one Indian company, Lifestyle International Private Limited, as answerable for every garment sold, and who can live with an owner that publishes no list of its labels and no warranty. For an owner that lists its house labels, see Westside; for a marketplace family read declaration by declaration, AJIO.

Common questions

Which labels in a Lifestyle store are the shop’s own?

On the only list anyone has published — a 2019 quotation to a trade magazine, attributed to the chain’s Managing Director — the own brands are Melange, Ginger, Nexus, Forca, Fame Forever, Code and Juniors, with Smiley and UCLA described as franchise brands. Fame Forever, Melange, Ginger, Forca, CODE, Nexus, Moiree and Juniors all carry “by Lifestyle” brand pages on at least one of the two marketplaces read, and Moiree is on no published list at all. The company itself names the family in no document read, and no list has been published since 2019.

Who is answerable for a Lifestyle label in India?

The company in the “Manufactured/Imported By” line, which on every page read was Lifestyle International — LIFE STYLE INTERNATIONAL PRIVATE LIMITED, CIN U52190KA1997PTC046775, status “Active”, at its West Wing registered office in Bengaluru. The seller against the buy button is a different company, Landmark Online India Pvt Ltd, in the East Wing of the same building, and a sale contract is with the seller. Customer care on every page is “Manager Commercial” and 1800-123-1555, never a named grievance officer.

Does “Manufactured By: Lifestyle International” mean the clothes are made by Lifestyle?

No, and the proof is on the same website. A Bossini shirt — Bossini being the brand of a company listed in Hong Kong under stock code 592 — carries the identical manufacturer line to a Fame Forever T-shirt, as does a Juniors infant set. The field names the entity legally answerable for the goods sold, which is why it reads the same across brands the chain owns and brands it only sells. The address in it is the company’s registered office, an office building, and nothing read establishes where any garment was made.

Is Bossini a Lifestyle brand? What about R&B?

Neither. The 2019 quotation puts Bossini and Kappa outside the family as international brands the chain has “exclusive rights to sell”, and Bossini International Holdings Limited is a Hong Kong listed company in its own right; the marketplace lists the label plainly as “Bossini”, with no “by Lifestyle” suffix. R&B is further away still: R&B Fashion is a brand of Apparel Group, a separate Dubai-headquartered retail group with “2200+ retail stores and 85+ brands” on its own release of 22 May 2024. Two Dubai retailers, two companies, and no connection read between them.

Why can’t this page say what share of sales the own labels are?

Because no document read gives one. The Indian company publishes no results of its own and its accounts reach the public only through business-information services reading its Registrar filing; the group above it is private, sits in Dubai, and publishes no annual report, no segment note and no accounts of any kind. The revenue figures that did reach the press for the year to 31 March 2025 — ₹11,766 crore in one report and ₹12,031 crore in another — cover the Lifestyle, Max Fashion and Home Centre chains together. The mirror also carries two register entries in the company’s name, CIN U52190KA1997PTC046775, status “Active”, and CIN U00063KA1997PTC023058, status “Inactive for e-filing”, with paid-up capital read as ₹122.91 crore on four mirrors and ₹116.82 crore on one for the first and ₹0.00 for the second; nothing read establishes that they are one registration. There is no share figure to pair with any of that, so nothing on this page is multiplied out.

The FA take

One thing here is done properly, and it is the part that matters if something goes wrong. Every product page read, house label or not, names one Indian company as answerable for the goods, with a toll-free line and a real registered office behind it. That is why the Bossini reading is a strength rather than a scandal: the shop signs for everything it sells.

Above that line it is thin. The owner names its labels in nothing it publishes, so the family has to be assembled from a 2019 magazine quotation whose numbers do not close, a marketplace naming habit, and two trade marks covering sunglasses and cosmetics. The group files nothing a reader can see, the revenue that reaches the press covers three chains with two reports disagreeing about it, and two register entries share one name with nothing to reconcile them.

Check the same label on both channels before buying — on that date the shop’s own pages showed no reduction at all — and know that whichever name is on the collar, one company in a Bengaluru office block has signed for it.
