Goyard is a Paris trunk and bag house that has no boutique in India, publishes no prices and, in its own words, “does not offer authentication services”. Its store locator listed 38 boutiques on 22 September 2026; the nearest to India was in Singapore.
That makes Goyard one of the hardest luxury names for an Indian buyer to check. There is no Indian distributor to ask, no Myntra shelf to read and no brand service that will look at a bag and say whether it is real. What the paper trail does show is a privately held French company whose accounts are on the French register, and a set of leather-goods workshops in the Aude and Savoie.
Goyard is run from 16 Place Vendôme, Paris, by Goyard St Honoré SAS, whose president is a holding company headed by Jean-Michel Signoles. Its shareholders are not shown on any register we could read. The French government company directory carries 2024 revenue of EUR 810,031,756 for that one company. Goyard’s 38 boutiques include none in India, the brand says it does not disclose prices remotely, and it offers no authentication service, so every Goyard sold in India is sold by someone other than Goyard.

Who owns Goyard
The company at the centre of Goyard is Goyard St Honoré, a French société par actions simplifiée registered at 16 Place Vendôme in Paris, with share capital of EUR 142,315.73. The registers disagree on its exact creation date in 1958: the French government company directory and the Pappers mirror give 1 January, the Societe.com mirror 12 March.
Its president is not a person but a company. Goyard Présidence, a single-shareholder SAS created on 18 October 2024 at the same Place Vendôme address and described as a holding company, took the chair in late 2024; Pappers dates the start to 29 October and Societe.com to 19 November. Goyard Présidence’s own president, since 28 October 2024, is Jean-Michel Signoles. Before that, Pappers shows Signoles himself as president of Goyard St Honoré from 6 November 2018 to 18 May 2024.
So Signoles controls the company as its president, through a holding company. Whether he, or anyone else, owns its shares is another question, and the register does not answer it. Both mirrors read say the beneficial-owners register has been restricted since 31 July 2024 and can be seen only by authorised persons. This page therefore says who runs Goyard, not who owns it.
The story of how Signoles came to the brand rests on the press. The Business of Fashion, in an undated article, describes him as the “Businessman Jean-Michel Signoles, who bought Goyard in 1998 from its founding family”, and Refinery29 also dates the purchase to 1998. No deed or filing recording that change of control was read, and neither source gives a price.

The chain shows management control, from president to president. It shows nothing about share ownership.
The accounts are on the register
A common line about Goyard is that it keeps its finances private. Refinery29 wrote that, as a private company, Goyard “doesn’t need to publish financials”. The French government company directory, which compiles figures from filed accounts, carries Goyard St Honoré’s revenue for the year to 31 December 2024 as EUR 810,031,756, with a net result of EUR 514,712,648. Pappers and Societe.com give the same figures, rounded.
Two limits apply. First, that is one company’s revenue, not Goyard’s worldwide sales: no consolidated group figure appeared in anything read, and the entity figures cannot be added up, because sales between group companies would be counted twice. Second, 2024 was the latest year the directory and both mirrors carried for this company on 22 September 2026. Some Goyard subsidiaries already show 2025 figures, so the parent’s 2025 accounts may still arrive.
For scale over time, the Business of Fashion reported revenue of “€41.1 million in 2013 … from €1.14 million in 2000”. That is a trade-press figure, undated as read, and not necessarily for the same company or on the same basis.
The retail arm is its own company. Goyard Détail France, created in December 2013 at 233 Rue Saint-Honoré, sells leather goods and travel articles, and Pappers shows 2024 revenue of EUR 204 million for it. The French government directory confirms Goyard St Honoré as its president. The register also lists four open Goyard establishments in Paris’s 1st arrondissement: 16 Place Vendôme, 5 Rue de Castiglione, and 233 and 352 Rue Saint-Honoré.
Where Goyard is made
Goyard publishes no annual report and no country-of-manufacture statement was read. The French register, though, shows a set of leather-goods manufacturing companies run by Goyard St Honoré as president, all with workshops in France.
La Manufacture has an active workshop at Trèbes in the Aude, and Pappers shows 288 employees and 2025 revenue of EUR 33.6 million. Algo has two active sites in Carcassonne, with 2025 revenue of EUR 282 million on the same mirror. La Fabrique, created in June 2023, operates at Castelnaudary, and Société Nouvelle Maroquinerie Vanoise at Challes-les-Eaux in Savoie. The Journal du Net profiled Goyard’s Carcassonne workshop and its trunk-makers in March 2014.
Being president of these companies is a management role; the register does not by itself show that Goyard St Honoré owns them, so this page says “run by”. Nor does the register show that every Goyard product is made in these workshops, or in France at all. What it supports is narrower: Goyard’s own management runs leather-goods factories in the Aude and in Savoie.
How Goyard reaches India: it does not
Goyard’s own store locator settles the question that the research could not. On 22 September 2026 it listed 38 boutiques: four in Paris, one each in Biarritz, London, Milan and Monaco, eight in the United States including Bergdorf Goodman, São Paulo, six in mainland China, two in Hong Kong, five in Korea, Tokyo and others. None was in India. The nearest listed was at Takashimaya Shopping Centre in Singapore.
The brand’s FAQ points buyers to that list. Asked “Where can I find Goyard products?”, it answers: “Find our Comptoirs using our store locator”. The FAQ uses “Comptoir” for the points of sale on that locator, and this page follows it.
No filing, press release or website read names an Indian partner, subsidiary, licensee or distributor. No Indian company carrying the Goyard name was found, and there is no Indian Goyard website that we know of. The Indian companies register and the Indian trade-mark register were not searched in this pass, so this page says nothing about who, if anyone, holds the GOYARD mark in India.
One Indian register was read. The IP India list of well-known trade marks, as of 10 February 2025, runs to 298 entries, and GOYARD is not among them. LOUIS VUITTON is, at serial number 68, in the same list. That means only that GOYARD had not been declared a well-known mark under that list by that date; it says nothing about ordinary registration.
Goyard’s store locator runs to 38 boutiques. None of them is in India.
Web results for “Goyard India” were pre-owned resale sites. No document read shows any of them to be authorised by Goyard, and this page names none of them, because nothing read supports a statement either way about any one seller.
Goyard on Myntra
Search Myntra for “goyard” and there is no Goyard brand filter. On 22 September 2026 the catalogue count for the brand was zero, and the results were substituted with listings under a brand filter reading VOGARD, 88 of them. That is simply what the search returned. The search was working that day: Columbia, the control brand used across these readings, returned 2,425 listings in the same session.
So there is no Myntra price, no seller of record and no statutory declaration to report for Goyard.
What Goyard costs in India
There is no official answer, and that is the brand’s own policy. Goyard’s FAQ reads: “Please note that we do not disclose prices or product availability remotely. Our sales ambassadors will be happy to inform you on you[r] next visit to one of our Comptoirs.” The product pages read on goyard.com showed no price, though the site does offer online personalisation, accounts and wishlists.
The Business of Fashion reported that Goyard said it does not engage “in any form of e-commerce”. That is a reported company statement in an undated article, not a line read on Goyard’s site.
Prices do circulate, in trade press and reseller price lists, but none is an official Goyard price list and none is dated to today, so this page prints none. With no Indian boutique, there is no Indian MRP either. That leaves nothing to set side by side, no gap to compute and no price band for Goyard on this site’s scale.
Tax still applies to a Goyard brought home. Bags under heading 4202 carry 18% integrated GST under Notification No. 9/2025-Integrated Tax (Rate) of 17 September 2025. The Budget 2026-27 cut duty on goods imported for personal use to 10% from 1 April 2026; how that applies to a bag carried or couriered from Singapore or Paris is not established in anything read. We print no basic customs duty rate, because none was read from an official source, and no exchange rate.
For contrast, Indian luggage makers such as VIP Industries and Safari publish their prices and sell through their own Indian channels. Goyard does neither here.
Checking a Goyard is real
This is the section that matters most for an Indian buyer, and the brand gives little to work with. Goyard’s FAQ asks, “Can I have my Goyard authenticated?”, and answers: “Maison Goyard does not offer authentication services. Please contact your Comptoir to obtain a copy of your purchase receipt.”
That leaves one brand-backed document: the receipt from the boutique that sold the bag. Goyard publishes no serial lookup, QR code or verification method in anything read, and the FAQ text read carried no counterfeit statement. Any third-party authentication service is exactly that, third-party; Goyard does not stand behind it.
Put the facts side by side. Goyard has no boutique in India. It sells through its 38 Comptoirs. It does not authenticate. So a Goyard offered in India, new or used, is not being sold by Goyard, and the only proof Goyard itself points to is a Comptoir receipt. This page does not describe how to spot a fake by stitching, canvas or hardware, because no Goyard document read sets out any such test, and a guessed tell is worse than none.
Ask for the Comptoir receipt
Goyard’s FAQ names the purchase receipt, obtained through the selling Comptoir, as the document to keep. A bag without one has no brand-backed paper.
Match the boutique to the list
The receipt should come from one of the 38 boutiques on goyard.com’s store locator. On 22 September 2026 none was in India.
Do not expect Goyard to check it
The brand says it does not offer authentication services. A certificate from anyone else is that party’s opinion, not Goyard’s.
Treat an Indian price list with care
Goyard does not disclose prices remotely, so any rupee price for a new Goyard is the seller’s figure, not the brand’s.
What the product claims rest on
No material claim appeared in the goyard.com FAQ text read, and the brand’s own canvas and craft pages were not read in this pass. So this page prints no composition, no layer count and no process. The register shows leather-goods workshops; it does not describe what they make or how. No warranty length, leather tanning standard or sustainability claim was read either.
The record in India
This page makes no statement about Goyard’s record in Indian courts. A search of one Indian judgments database under “goyard” showed nothing, but the control search on the same database was not readable in this pass, so that search cannot show the database was working, and this page draws no conclusion from it. Consumer commissions sit outside that database in any case. Read it as a search that settled nothing, not as a verdict on the brand.
Who Goyard is for
Goyard suits a buyer who travels to Singapore, Hong Kong, Paris or another city on its list, wants a bag or trunk from a house that shows no price online, and will buy it at the Comptoir and keep the receipt. For an Indian buyer who wants a travel bag with published prices, a warranty and an Indian seller to answer for it, brands such as Skybags and Uppercase sit in another market entirely, and Goyard’s own documents offer no Indian route at all.

Goyard is better documented than its reputation for secrecy suggests. Its operating company, president and 2024 revenue are on the French register, its workshops in the Aude and Savoie are on the same register, and its own FAQ states its policies plainly. Who owns the shares is the one large gap, and the register has been closed on that point since July 2024.
For India, the documents leave a buyer on their own. There is no boutique, no partner, no Myntra shelf and no published price, and Goyard says it will not authenticate a bag. The only proof it names is a receipt from one of its 38 Comptoirs, none of them in India.
Buy Goyard at a Goyard boutique abroad and keep the receipt; any other route in India has no brand paper behind it.
