Sassafras is an Indian women’s fast-fashion label selling jeans, dresses, tops and knitwear, mostly for ₹500 to ₹1,500. It was started in 2015 by the husband-and-wife team Rimjhim and Ketan Jaggi, and it sells mainly online.
It is not one of Myntra’s own labels: it began as an independent brand that grew through a Myntra programme. Across the 16 Sassafras products we track, the typical piece sold for ₹919.
Sassafras is an independent Indian label founded by Rimjhim and Ketan Jaggi, made in India at Falcon Apparels in Delhi on the pieces we checked. At a typical ₹919, jeans at about ₹870 are fair value for young women’s casual wear. Its discounts are very uniform, a median 60% off MRP, which makes the MRP look like a starting point rather than a price.

How it started
Rimjhim Jaggi, who leads design and has about 15 years in fashion, started Sassafras with her husband Ketan in 2015. They set it up as an online fast-fashion label for Indian women. The name comes from a tree commonly found in the US, Rimjhim told Fibre2Fashion.
The turning point was Myntra’s Brand Accelerator Programme, which supports Indian fashion brands. A 2018 profile reported 150% year-on-year growth after the brand joined, with dresses at 28% of sales and tops at 26%, selling only on Myntra, Flipkart and Jabong at the time.
Other brands went down the same route: Highlander‘s owner also grew through a Myntra accelerator agreement.
What they actually make
Jeans are the biggest group on our list, nine of 16 products, followed by dresses, with a kurta set, a sweater and trousers. There is also a Sassafras Basics line on Myntra.
On 30 October 2026, three Sassafras pieces we checked on Myntra listed India as the country of origin and named Falcon Apparels, at Kapashera and Bijwasan in Delhi, as the maker. Sellers included Truecom Retail and Ardent Retail.

Fifteen of the 16 Sassafras pieces we tracked sold at between 50% and 69% off, which looks less like a sale than a pricing policy.

Sassafras sells at about the same price as Myntra’s DressBerry on our list, and for less than Libas, which leans towards ethnic sets. Myntra and Flipkart are where most buyers will find it.
Who Sassafras is actually for
Sassafras suits young women who want casual jeans or a day dress for about ₹900 to ₹1,100. Jeans are the biggest group on our list.
It is less useful if you want tailored workwear, or if you want a physical store to try the fit, since it is mostly an online brand.

Reputation and controversies
Sassafras has a modest public record, mainly interviews with its founders and a 2018 business profile. Since it is a private company, recent sales and profit figures have not been confirmed from filings we could read.
Its main question is the same as for most online labels: an MRP that nobody pays. Fifteen of 16 listings sold at 50% to 69% off.

Sassafras is a real founder-run Indian label, and at about ₹870 for jeans it is fair value for young women’s casual wear.
Its MRP, though, works like a pricing policy rather than a price: nearly every piece sells at 50% to 69% off. And little about the company’s current size has been confirmed in filings.
Buy Sassafras for a pair of jeans you like at ₹870, and compare it with DressBerry at the till rather than against its own MRP.
