Tanlooms Brand Audit: Delhi Table Linen and Cushion Covers

Tanlooms sells table covers and cushion covers from Delhi, not clothes: who holds its trade mark, what its listings declare and what it charged on Myntra.
Tanlooms brand audit card by FashionAudit: the brand name with a simple cushion illustration

Tanlooms sells table covers. Not clothes — table covers, table runners, place mats, cushion covers and shower curtains, on its own shop and through Myntra, Flipkart, Ajio and Amazon India. The 1,389 listings carrying its name on Myntra on 11 September 2026 are home furnishing, and anyone who arrived looking for a clothing label has the wrong brand.

The brand trades as TANLOOMS, one word. The two-word spelling shows nothing on the shelf where it sells most, and it points instead at Tan & Loom, an unrelated business in Bengal making leather and handloom handbags. Nothing connects the two.

Two more things are worth knowing before the price. The brand is run as a sole proprietorship rather than a company. And its range runs from cotton and jute to satin, velvet and PVC.

The short answer

Tanlooms is a home-furnishing brand — table covers and cushion covers, not clothing. Its trade mark, 4632102 in class 24, is registered to its founder as a single firm, the register’s term for a sole proprietor, and its listings declare the brand name and a Delhi address. Across a 100-listing sample on Myntra on 11 September 2026 it charged 64.4% of MRP, with 59 of 100 listings reduced and a median of ₹1,499. It describes itself as a textile and handloom brand, and its listings name materials from cotton and jute to PVC.

The public record that names who stands behind Tanlooms is the trade-marks register.

Application 4632102, for the mark Tanlooms in class 24, the textiles class, names the brand’s founder as proprietor. The register records the applicant as a single firm — its term for a sole proprietor — filed on 30 August 2020, registered with a certificate dated 24 February 2022 and valid to 30 August 2030.

The brand gives 2008 as its starting year; the trade mark was filed in 2020.

The 2008 date comes from the brand’s own page; the earliest dated public record found is the 2020 trade-mark filing.

A sole proprietorship is a lawful way to trade in India. It is not on the companies register at all, because it is not a company — the proprietor and the business are one legal person, and millions of Indian businesses run that way.

For a buyer, that means there is no limited-liability company behind the name; the business and its owner are one and the same.

What the label tells a buyer

Every packaged good sold in India carries a declaration under the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011, naming the manufacturer, packer or importer and the net quantity. The block names who is answerable for the goods — not who wove or stitched them.

Forty Tanlooms records were read in full on 11 September 2026, carrying two distinct manufacturer strings. Thirty-one read “TANLOOMS, 122 Basement, Sant Nagar, New Delhi-110065”; the other nine carry a longer version of the same address. The field was filled on all forty.

The seller of record is the bare word “Tanlooms” on all forty, and the country of origin is India on all forty. Net quantity appears on 23 of 40. Composition — what the thing is made of, as a percentage — appears on none. The address is the same one the brand publishes in its own website footer.

One seller and one address on every record read is tidier than several far larger labels manage.

The handloom in the name

The brand’s whole published claim about itself is one sentence, sitting in the footer of every page on its site.

TANLOOMS is a homegrown Indian textile and handloom brand, crafting the finest home furnishing Articles since 2008.

That sentence is the brand’s own description of itself. None of the product pages or listings read describes an item as handwoven, and none names a loom, weaver, weaving cluster or mill. The trade-mark file describes the firm as one dealing in handloom items.

The range includes PVC table covers and PVC place mats alongside satin, velvet, net, bamboo and cotton pieces, and none of the listings read describes an item as woven by hand. The cotton items say “Cotton” or “Jute Cotton” without a percentage or a note on how the cloth was made, and composition appears on none of the forty records read.

Handloom certification marks

The brand’s site and the listings read name no certifying body or standard. Searches on 11 September 2026 for the brand against the Handloom Mark, the India Handloom Brand, the Silk Mark, Craftmark and the geographical-indication registers found no record for Tanlooms, and it does not appear in the published list of India Handloom Brand holders read that day.

Each of those marks is built to certify handloom or craft goods. The Handloom Mark, launched by the Ministry of Textiles in 2006, gives handloom goods a distinctive identity — it is how a buyer knows a thing was woven on a loom by hand. The India Handloom Brand, launched on 7 August 2015, goes further: certified products carry a label with a registration number, against criteria covering natural fibres, fast colours, skin-friendly dyes and zero defects. Silk Mark guarantees the authenticity and purity of silk and gives each label an authentication number. Craftmark, launched by AIACA in 2006, certifies genuine Indian hand-crafted goods made in a socially responsible way. Geographical indications covered 106 handloom products as of August 2026.

Tanlooms did not appear on any of these that could be searched. That says nothing either way about how any single Tanlooms piece was made; it means a buyer has no certificate number to look up.

Nor is this peculiar to small brands. Fabindia, the best-known handloom-associated name in the country, publishes no Handloom Mark, India Handloom Brand or GOTS certification either. Fabindia trades through a company; Tanlooms trades as a sole proprietorship.

What Tanlooms costs in India

A 100-listing sample on Myntra on 11 September 2026 — a sample, not the catalogue, which carried 1,389 listings that day — found the shelf charging 64.4% of MRP, with 59 of 100 reduced and a median of ₹1,499, across 34 distinct MRPs and 25 discount rungs.

That combination is unusual. Charging 64.4% of MRP is a heavily discounted shelf, yet fewer than three listings in five were reduced at all, and 25 rungs across 34 MRPs is closer to a price set per product than a sale run across a catalogue. Manyavar, for contrast, charged 100% of MRP on the same marketplace the same day, on a single rung.

Its own shop cuts harder than the marketplace.

That is a pack of six PVC place mats. A net table cover on the same site ran ₹1,299 down to ₹549. On the marketplace, a pair of cushion covers listed at ₹1,499 came down to ₹602 and then ₹421 with a coupon, and a round six-seater cover at ₹999 came down to ₹411 and then ₹261.

There is no global-against-Indian comparison to make here, and that is worth saying rather than skipping. India was declared as the country of origin on all forty records read, and the brand sells nowhere outside India that could be found. No import duty enters this price at all.

Worth knowing

MRPs for the same kind of object run from ₹832 to ₹7,999 across these shelves, and the brand’s own site cut deeper than the marketplace on the day both were read. Treat the MRP as a starting figure and compare all four shelves before buying.

Who Tanlooms is actually for

If you want a printed table cover or a set of cushion covers for a few hundred rupees, delivered anywhere in India, this is a functioning brand with a large catalogue and stock on four marketplaces. The PVC place mats and covers are cheap, wipeable and exactly what the listing says. At ₹411 for a six-seater cover, nobody is being overcharged.

If you specifically want certified handwoven textiles, look for a certification mark rather than the brand name: the Tanlooms listings read do not describe items as handwoven, name no weaver or cluster, and do not print composition. A ₹7,999 MRP satin table cover is listed as a satin table cover.

One pattern here catches shoppers regularly: a textile-sounding name gets filed on fashion shelves and read as a clothing label. Chumbak sits in the same place for the same reason. Read the product type before the brand name.

Money, and the absence of it

There are no public financials. A sole proprietorship does not file company accounts, so no revenue or profit figure for Tanlooms is on any public record.

Searches on 11 September 2026 for news, funding, interviews and awards found only its own pages, its own social accounts and marketplace listings.

The record is clean on the other side of the ledger. We found no regulatory action, product recall, advertising adjudication or consumer commission order against Tanlooms, and a search of published judgments showed nothing naming the brand. No ASCI finding on it was located.

Its own site gives two return terms: product pages show three-day returns, and at least one carries a thirty-day replacement guarantee. Both were read on 11 September 2026.

Buying Tanlooms in India

Check 01

Read the declaration, not the discount

The declaration names the brand and a Delhi address. If something goes wrong, that is the address to write to, along with the platform you bought from.

Check 02

Buy the material, not the name

The listing will say PVC, satin, velvet, net or cotton. That one word is the most reliable thing on the page; the brand name tells you nothing about how the cloth was made.

Check 03

Price the same object on all four shelves

Myntra, Flipkart, Ajio and Amazon India all carry it, and its own site was cheaper on several goods. Coupons took marketplace prices under ₹450.

Check 04

Settle the returns window before you pay

Three-day returns and a thirty-day replacement guarantee both appear on its own site. Take whichever your platform states in writing, and keep a copy.

Check 05

If you want certified handloom, buy the mark

Look for an India Handloom label with its registration number, a Handloom Mark or a Silk Mark authentication number on the product itself. A brand name containing the word is not a certification.

Common questions

Does Tanlooms sell clothes?

No. Every channel read on 11 September 2026 sells home furnishing — table covers, table runners, place mats, cushion covers and shower curtains. Its own site carries thirteen collections, all table linen and cushion covers, and the 1,389 listings under its name on Myntra sit under table covers and cushion covers. No garment was found on any platform.

Is Tanlooms a certified handloom brand?

It describes itself as a textile and handloom brand on its own site. The product pages and listings read do not describe items as handwoven or name a weaver or cluster, and no certification such as the Handloom Mark, the India Handloom Brand, the Silk Mark or Craftmark is published. The range spans cotton, jute, satin, velvet and PVC.

Who owns Tanlooms?

Tanlooms trades as a sole proprietorship. The trade-marks register holds trade mark 4632102 in class 24, filed on 30 August 2020 by the brand’s founder as a single firm and registered on 24 February 2022. A sole proprietorship is a lawful way to trade; it means there is no limited-liability company behind the name.

Is Tanlooms the same as Tan & Loom?

No. Tan & Loom is a separate business in Bengal making handmade leather and handloom handbags, with no connection to this brand. Tanlooms is one word, sells home furnishing from Delhi, and the two-word spelling shows nothing on the marketplace where Tanlooms sells.

Is Tanlooms good value?

On price, mostly yes. The shelf charged 64.4% of MRP across a 100-listing sample on 11 September 2026, at a median of ₹1,499, and coupons took several goods under ₹450. But MRPs for similar objects run from ₹832 to ₹7,999, so judge each listing on its material and its size rather than on the discount percentage.

The FA take

As a shop, Tanlooms works. Read on 11 September 2026 it charged 64.4% of MRP at a median of ₹1,499 — a six-seater cover at ₹411, PVC place mats at ₹699 against a ₹1,949 MRP — across 1,389 listings on one marketplace and storefronts on three more. Buy a printed table cover from it and you will almost certainly get a printed table cover.

The listings are light on detail: they name the material but print no fabric composition and no handloom certification number. It trades as a sole proprietorship, which is entirely lawful, so a buyer’s point of contact is the brand name and Delhi address on the label rather than a company. If certified handloom matters to you, buy a piece with a certification mark; if you want an inexpensive, wipeable table cover, this is a sensible place to look.

Good-value table covers and cushion covers; choose by the material and size named on the listing.
