Twenty Dresses Brand Audit: Who Owns It, and What It Costs in India

Twenty Dresses is Nykaa's own label, and on Nykaa's own shop 57 of 136 product pages read named a seller other than Nykaa Fashion Ltd. Prices read 7 September 2026.

Twenty Dresses is a western-wear label that lives almost entirely on one shop. On 7 September 2026 its brand page on Nykaa Fashion carried 4,405 items, while Myntra held a single listing, Ajio one, and the brand’s old website answered with a line saying the store is unavailable.

The shop it lives on owns it. The brand page sits at an address ending in “twenty-dresses-by-nykaa-fashion”, 4,135 of 4,136 listings read that day carry that exact phrase in the title, and the product page prints a “House of Nykaa Fashion” panel. What that leaves open is which Nykaa company holds the brand, and who is actually selling the clothes.

The short answer

Twenty Dresses is a listed retailer’s own label. FSN E-Commerce Ventures Limited’s own investor pages name Nykaa Fashion Limited and Nykaa E-Retail Limited among its direct subsidiaries, and nothing published says which of the two holds this brand.

On the shop’s own product pages, “Sold By Nykaa Fashion Ltd” appears on 78 of 136 listings read. Sixteen other companies are named as the seller on the remaining 57.

Price: 4,136 listings, 98.6% reduced, aggregate 43.2% of MRP, median charged ₹910 against a median MRP of ₹1,999, read 7 September 2026.

Who owns Twenty Dresses

FSN E-Commerce Ventures Limited is the listed parent of the Nykaa group, and its investor pages publish a list of direct subsidiaries. Two names on that list matter here: Nykaa Fashion Limited and Nykaa E-Retail Limited. The page names the companies and gives no registration number and no shareholding percentage for either.

Both companies appear against this brand, in different places. The seller of record on the product pages is Nykaa Fashion Ltd. The advertiser named in the advertising council’s single entry for the brand is Nykaa E-Retail Limited. Nothing read says which of the two holds the brand or the mark, and this page does not join them.

How the brand came into the group is a second open question, and the honest answer is that no filing was read. Entrackr reported on 22 March 2019 that Nykaa had acquired the styling site 20Dresses.com for an undisclosed sum, with the team expected to join the company. No scheme, transfer agreement, exchange intimation or annual-report passage naming the instrument, the consideration or the acquiring company was read, so this page reports the trade-press account with its date and asserts nothing beyond it.

What is settled is how the owner presents the brand today. The catalogue title is “Twenty Dresses by Nykaa Fashion” on 4,135 of 4,136 listings, the beauty site carries a matching brand page, and the sister label Pipa Bella is named the same way. The naming is not automatic: FabAlley sits on the same shop with 543 items and no such suffix, so the phrase marks a class of brand rather than every brand on the site.

Two things a shopper might reasonably want are not on the record. Nobody read a founding year or a founder’s name for this label, and the badge the product page carries — “2+ Years on Nykaa” — counts time on the shop, not the age of the brand, so it should not be read as one. The page also shows “7L+ Orders Fulfilled” and an average rating of 4.1 from more than a lakh ratings, both the shop’s own counts of its own trade.

The label the shop owns, sold by other people

A Legal Metrology declaration names who is legally answerable for the goods, not who sewed the garment. On this shop it sits in a vendor details block that gives the seller, the country of origin and the name and address of the manufacturer, packer or importer. Read across 136 product pages on 7 September 2026, it gives an answer worth stating plainly.

“Sold By Nykaa Fashion Ltd” appears on 78 of the 136 — 57.4%. The remaining 57 name sixteen other companies, among them Shree Sanskruti Fashion on 8, Disha Trends on 6, Popnetic Fashions Private Limited on 5, and Aask Lifestyle Limited and Bindal Exports Limited on 4 each. One page carries no seller name at all.

A shopper buying the shop’s own label is buying from somebody else more than four times in ten.

The manufacturer side is wider still: 51 distinct strings at 68 distinct addresses across the same 136 pages. That is a count of strings rather than of companies, because the list carries obvious variants of single names — Comoriss, Comoriss Apparels, Comoriss Fashions Llp; Kavita Creation and Kavita Creations; Shree Balaji with and without a full stop. A worked example reads: Sold By Nykaa Fashion Ltd, Country of Origin India, Shree Balaji, A/503, Jesal Complex, Cabin Cross Road, Bhaynder East, Thane, Maharashtra, 401105.

Brand Distinct manufacturer strings Product pages read
Sangria 231 400
Anouk 207 450
Aurelia 64 120
Twenty Dresses 51 136
W for Woman 33 60
Libas 6 207

All read on 6 or 7 September 2026, each on that brand’s own listings.

Origin is read per listing and the counts belong on the page: India on 127 of the 136, China on 8, one blank. Whether those eight sit in one product type or under one manufacturer was not tested. There is no net-quantity field anywhere in the declaration block on any of the 136 pages, which is an absence of a field on a web page rather than proof that nothing is declared on the pack itself.

GSM — grams per square metre, the number that tells you how heavy a cloth is — appears nowhere. Eighteen apparel brands into this site’s work, not one has published a GSM figure a shopper can read before buying.

What Twenty Dresses costs in India

The brand page’s own catalogue was read through on 7 September 2026, giving 4,136 unique listings against the 4,405 the page itself displays — a gap of 269 that nothing on the page explains, so both numbers are printed. Of the 4,136, 4,080 were reduced — 98.6% — and 81 were flagged out of stock. Median MRP ₹1,999, median charged ₹910, median discount among the reduced 46%. In aggregate ₹92.6 lakh of MRP was being charged as ₹40.1 lakh: 43.2% of MRP.

Counting distinct values answers what a median cannot. There are 161 distinct MRPs and 79 distinct whole-number discount percentages spanning 6% to 85%, with exactly one integer missing in that range — 14%. A ladder that complete is the shape Libas and W for Woman showed the same week, and the opposite of the gapped ladders of Biba, Global Desi and Soch.

The listings also carry the shop’s own curation tags, which are worth reading as marketing rather than as fact: EXCLUSIVE on 1,564 of them, LATEST STYLE on 1,175, RESPONSIBLE on 77, BESTSELLER on 36 and NEW on 19, with 1,264 carrying no tag at all. None of those words is defined anywhere on the page a shopper sees.

Every price above is a ceiling. A dress read in full — MRP ₹2,295 “Inclusive of all taxes”, charged ₹1,745 at “24% Off” — also carried a panel headed “How to get it for ₹1,545” and two coupon codes, one a first-purchase discount and one specific to the brand. So the figure a shopper actually pays sits below 43.2% of MRP, not above it.

Where else it sells

Almost nowhere, and each answer here rests on that shop’s own brand list rather than on a search box. Myntra’s brand facet returns one listing. Ajio’s returns one, with a control passing in the same session. Flipkart’s brand facet returns nothing, and the control matters: the same facet syntax returned 9,786 items for another brand minutes later, so the shop was answering properly.

Tata CLiQ is a different case and the difference is worth keeping. Searches there for both spellings of the name came back with the site’s own error message, while another brand’s page opened normally minutes earlier. So nothing is said here about whether the brand sells there — which is a different thing from saying it does not.

The single Myntra listing is worth a paragraph because it is not a dress. It is a pair of women’s flats, MRP ₹1,695 charged at ₹1,525, carrying the same overnight countdown and the same October-dated coupon as the ethnic-wear labels beside it. Its declared manufacturer is a Mumbai firm, Zesta impax, and its seller is a different company again — recorded as Truenet Commerce on 6 September and as Savadika Retail Private Limited in the listing’s own display name on 7 September. Both names are printed here; neither is a Nykaa company.

What a marketplace’s own classification says

Myntra’s product records carry a system attribute marking a brand as one of that site’s own house of brands, and on this brand’s single listing there it reads off — because on Myntra this is not Myntra’s label. The mark is one shop’s classification of its own catalogue, not a trade-mark record, and it proves nothing about who owns anything.

It is worth printing because it sorts the two kinds of marketplace label apart, and the other kind is the useful comparison. Anouk‘s 450 listings named 207 different manufacturers and 167 different sellers, with no Myntra company among them; Sangria‘s 400 named 231 manufacturers, and no company that owns the name could be established at all. Twenty Dresses sits at the other end: the shop names the brand after itself, the parent is listed and publishes its subsidiary list, and the seller is printed on every product page.

The advertising record

The Advertising Standards Council of India’s complaints file carries one entry for this brand, reference C.5015, and it was Upheld. It concerns influencer disclosure — an advertisement on an influencer’s post that was not labelled as an advertisement. It says nothing about a garment, a fabric or a price, and no individual is named here. The file does not carry a decision date this page can rely on, so none is printed.

That ruling was on one advertisement as it then stood. It is not a standing ban on a form of words, nobody has ruled on the brand’s pages as they read today, and the council is a self-regulatory industry body rather than a statutory regulator. A search on the company name Nykaa E-Retail Limited returns 36 entries, but those belong to the company’s file across all its brands and are not findings against this label.

Who Twenty Dresses is actually for

At a median of ₹910 for a dress, this is priced where a shopper buys two rather than one, and the discount ladder is fine-grained enough that the charged price is doing real work rather than sitting on a promotional grid. What you give up is the thing the shop’s own label ought to make easy: a single company answering for the garment, and a net quantity on the page.

Check 01

Read the seller line before you buy

On 7 September 2026, 57 of 136 product pages named a seller other than Nykaa Fashion Ltd. The vendor details block on the page tells you which company you are actually buying from, and who you would be dealing with over a return.

Check 02

Check the origin line, not the brand name

Eight of the 136 declarations read named China and 127 named India. The country is printed per listing on the same block as the seller, so it is worth a glance on the specific dress rather than an assumption about the label.

Common questions

Who owns Twenty Dresses?

It is sold as Nykaa’s own label. FSN E-Commerce Ventures Limited, the listed parent, names both Nykaa Fashion Limited and Nykaa E-Retail Limited among its direct subsidiaries; the first is the seller of record on the product pages and the second is the advertiser named in the advertising council’s entry. Nothing published says which of the two holds the brand.

Did Nykaa buy 20Dresses?

Entrackr reported on 22 March 2019 that Nykaa had acquired 20Dresses.com for an undisclosed sum. No filing, scheme or exchange intimation naming the instrument or the acquiring company was read, so that report is printed here with its date and nothing is stated beyond it. The old domain now redirects to a storefront answering that the store is unavailable.

Is Twenty Dresses sold anywhere other than Nykaa Fashion?

Barely. On 7 September 2026 the brand page carried 4,405 items, the beauty site 4 products, Myntra one listing and Ajio one. Flipkart’s brand facet came back empty, with a control passing in the same session. Tata CLiQ’s own pages could not be read that day, so nothing is said about it either way.

Are the discounts real?

The prices charged are real and low: 98.6% of 4,136 listings were reduced on 7 September 2026, at 43.2% of MRP in aggregate, and coupons sat below that again. Whether the MRP is a price anyone was asked to pay is a separate question, and with almost the whole catalogue reduced on the day of reading, the reduced price is the ordinary one.

Does the label say where the clothes are made?

It names a country of origin and a manufacturer, packer or importer with an address — India on 127 of 136 pages read, China on 8, one blank. That declaration names who is legally answerable for the goods rather than the factory. No net quantity appears in the block on any page read, and no fabric weight is published.

The FA take

This is one of the better-disclosed marketplace labels on the shelf. Against the alternative — a name over four hundred listings from two hundred different manufacturers, with no company behind it a shopper could check — a listed parent, a named subsidiary and a seller printed on the page is a real difference, and it is the difference worth paying attention to.

The gaps are real and they are the shop’s to close. Its own label is sold by sixteen other companies on 57 of 136 pages read; the parent names two subsidiaries and nothing says which holds the brand; the acquisition rests on a single trade-press report from March 2019; and there is no net quantity and no fabric weight anywhere. At a median of ₹910 the clothes are cheap enough that this matters less than it would at three times the price.

Good value on the dress, thin on the paperwork — read the seller line before you tap buy.
