Furla Brand Audit: Bologna Owner and India Prices

Who owns Furla, how it has reached India since 2012, who sells and imports its Myntra handbags, their prices, declared origins and the two-year warranty.
Furla brand audit by FashionAudit: Furla logo and the headline “Bologna Owner and India Prices” over a candy-coloured small leather top-handle bag in soft pastel pink

Furla is an Italian handbag brand from Bologna, owned by Furla S.p.A., a private company that two trade reports in June 2025 described as held 100% by the founding Furlanetto family. It came to India in 2012 through a local partner, and no document read names an Indian operator for it after 2014.

On 22 September 2026, all 38 Furla handbags on Myntra were sold by one Delhi company and imported by another, and their declared countries of origin were China, Cambodia and Bulgaria.

The short answer

Furla is an Italian, family-owned brand with no Indian website and no Indian operator named in any document read after 2014. On Myntra its 38 handbags were sold by Darveys Global Store and imported by NR Wardrobe Fuss, declaring China on 28, Cambodia on 6 and Bulgaria on 4. They sold at a median of ₹36,590, 85.1% of MRP, on 22 September 2026. The brand’s two-year warranty terms do not mention India.

Who owns Furla

The brand belongs to Furla S.p.A., a joint-stock company registered at Via Bellaria 3–5, San Lazzaro di Savena, on the edge of Bologna. The Italian register mirror ufficiocamerale.it gives its incorporation as 20 January 1983, its share capital as €9,013,385 and its headcount as 412. The brand itself is older: Il Resto del Carlino dates it to 1927.

Furla does not publish its shareholder register, and no Italian filing naming the holders was read. What is on the record is the company’s statement as two trade publications reported it. When a debt restructuring closed in June 2025, FinanceCommunity.it wrote that “the Furlanetto family maintains 100% of the share capital”, and Milano Finanza reported the same, with chief executive Eraldo Poletto continuing. FashionNetwork Italia has described Bloom S.r.l. as “the controlling company of Furla”.

Tamburi Investment Partners, a firm listed in Milan, once held Furla shares from a convertible bond. On 30 October 2019 Bloom agreed to buy “an additional 15% stake in Furla S.p.A.” from it for €35 million, according to a MarketScreener transaction record, and FashionNetwork Italia reported the same transfer the next day. The June 2025 reports of a 100% family holding mean no outside shareholder is named today.

We tag Furla Independent on that basis. No multi-brand corporate parent or controlling investor is named in anything read; the holding company described is a family vehicle.

In July 2024 Furla opened a negotiated settlement with its financial lenders — an out-of-court procedure under Italian law, not a court case. FashionUnited Italia quoted the company citing “a highly volatile market context in the first half of 2024” and reported that the owners committed €25 million. The agreement was signed at the end of June 2025. FinanceCommunity.it named the lenders as IDeA CCR II, a De Agostini group fund that had bought most of Furla’s bank debt, together with Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, BNL, Intesa Sanpaolo, UniCredit and Simest. No change of ownership was reported.

The money

Furla is private and publishes no annual report that was found. Two kinds of figure exist, and they measure different things: Furla S.p.A.’s own statutory accounts, which Italian register mirrors carry, and group turnover, which reaches the public only through the press.

YearRevenueResultWhat the figure is, and where it comes from
2018€513 million—Group turnover, FashionUnited, 15 March 2019
2019€271.3 million€23.5 million profitFurla S.p.A. alone, Top Aziende register mirror
2022€336.5 million—Group turnover, Milano Finanza, 22 February 2024

2025€154.5 million€24.6 million lossFurla S.p.A. alone, ufficiocamerale.it register mirror

Register mirrors and business press. These are figures the mirrors carry, not audited accounts we have read.

The two 2022 figures differ because they count different perimeters, the group against the parent company alone, though no source states the mirror’s perimeter in so many words. No group figure for 2023, 2024 or 2025 was found. Milano Finanza put the international share of the business at “over 80%” in 2022.

How Furla reaches India

Furla’s Indian history is short and belongs to one decade. In June 2012 LuxuryFacts reported a Mumbai boutique “through distribution partnership with Genesis Luxury”, and in September 2012 it reported the store open: 532 square feet at Palladium. FashionUnited India, writing in 2013, described Genesis as running the Indian stores “as franchisee”. The two reports use different words for the arrangement, and both are printed here.

In April 2013 FashionUnited India reported that Furla had applied for government approval of a 51:49 joint venture with New Delhi-based Genesis Luxury Fashion, Furla holding the majority. The plan was about ₹13 crore over four years, ₹6.6 crore of it from Furla. Whether the approval was granted is not established by anything read. In July 2014 LuxuryFacts reported a 563-square-foot store at Select Citywalk, New Delhi, and quoted Eraldo Poletto calling it the third Indian store after Mumbai and Kolkata.

Furla in India, as each record gives it

  • 201351:49 joint venture with Genesis applied for
  • 2014Select Citywalk store, New Delhi
  • 2019Genesis accounts for 2018-19 do not mention Furla
  • 2026No Indian operator named; furla.com ships from Italy

Five separate records. None says how, or whether, the Genesis arrangement ended.

LuxuryFacts, 2012 and 2014; FashionUnited India, 2013; Genesis Luxury Fashion financial statements 2018-19, published by Reliance Industries; furla.com, read 22 September 2026.

Genesis Luxury Fashion’s financial statements for 2018-19, which Reliance Industries publishes, name Reliance Retail Ventures as its holding company and do not mention Furla. One year’s accounts cannot rule out an arrangement in another, so this page says only that no Furla, Genesis or Reliance document read names one after 2014.

There is no Indian website. The address furla.com/in/ serves the Italian store, whose footer names the Italian company and its VAT number. Furla’s international help centre lists India for delivery: standard shipping at €35 in five to six working days, and express at €50 in three to four. Check at checkout whether import duties are included.

Worth knowing

The Select Citywalk mall directory lists a Furla unit, G08, as read on 22 September 2026.

Furla watches take a separate, documented route. The watch warranty booklet, updated December 2022, says the watch “is a product manufactured by Timex Nederland B.V. under license from Furla S.p.A”, and names an Indian service centre at Timex Watches Limited in Noida. Our Timex audit covers that company.

Who sells Furla on Myntra

Myntra listed 205 products under “Furla” on 22 September 2026. Only 38 were handbags. The rest were mainly spectacle frames, sunglasses and watches, and those carry different sellers and makers, so the handbags are read on their own.

The manufacturer line on the handbags needs reading carefully. Via Bellaria 3–5 in San Lazzaro di Savena is Furla S.p.A.’s registered office, as the Italian register mirror gives it. It is the brand’s head office, not a factory, and it does not tell a buyer who made the bag.

Darveys Global Store Private Limited is a Delhi company incorporated on 19 March 2018, and NR Wardrobe Fuss Private Limited, the importer, was incorporated in Delhi on 5 November 2013, according to a register mirror.

The same seller and the same importer appeared on every Longchamp and Mulberry handbag read that day, 31 of 31 and 40 of 40.

Where Furla bags are declared made

Furla is an Italian brand. The 38 Myntra handbag declarations, which the Legal Metrology rules require to state a country of origin, named these countries.

Myntra product records, Furla handbags, read 22 September 2026.

Furla does own production in Italy. FashionUnited reported in May 2021 that it opened a site at Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, near Florence, and the trade paper LaConceria described it as “the heart of bag manufacturing”, absorbing Effeuno, a contractor Furla bought in 2018 that made “two million bags and small leather goods a year”. Furla’s 2018 supplier manual also asks outside suppliers to identify “the country where the main processes” take place, and names none.

On the 38 Myntra declarations read, the maker’s line gave Furla’s Bologna address and the country line named China, Cambodia or Bulgaria.

Those are two facts about different things: an Italian factory exists, and 38 bags on one Indian marketplace on one day declared other countries. Furla publishes no breakdown of where its bags are made, so read the label on the bag in front of you. Our audits of Safari and VIP Industries show how Indian bag makers declare theirs.

What Furla costs in India

We read all 38 Furla handbags on Myntra on 22 September 2026. The median MRP was ₹43,000 and the median price paid ₹36,590, which is 85.1% of MRP. Thirty-six of the 38 were reduced, across 20 distinct MRPs.

The whole Furla facet mixes frames, sunglasses and watches with bags, so it is not used for the price band. The band here is Premium, from the ₹36,590 handbag median.

furla.com/it product pages and Myntra listings, both read 22 September 2026. Different bags: not a matched pair.

These are four different bags. No Myntra listing read carried the same name or article code as the Italian pages, so this is not a like-for-like comparison, and no rupee conversion is offered because no reference rate was read. The table shows the price levels on each side, raw, with the tax each one includes.

On tax, one figure can be printed with its source. IGST, the integrated goods and services tax on imports, is 18% on handbags under heading 4202, set by Notification No. 9/2025-Integrated Tax (Rate) of 17 September 2025. For a buyer ordering from furla.com, the Budget 2026-27 annexure records the duty on goods imported for personal use, heading 9804, being cut from 20% to 10% from 1 April 2026. Whether a courier parcel of handbags is assessed under 9804 in practice is not established, so treat that cut as a possibility rather than a saving.

The two-year warranty, and where it applies

Furla’s terms are brief. The US terms page says “Furla offers a two-year warranty on all its products”, and the Italian terms say the same in Italian. The British FAQ adds that the warranty “covers defects in materials and workmanship” and that “If the purchase was made through a reseller, any quality issues must be raised by contacting the reseller directly.”

None of those pages prints a list of exclusions or a country scope, and none mentions India. For a handbag bought on Myntra, that last British sentence is the relevant one: the reseller is the first place to take a fault.

The watches carry their own, narrower promise. Timex Nederland’s booklet gives 12 months as standard and 24 months in the European Union, requires purchase from an authorised Furla dealer with a stamped certificate, and excludes the crystal, strap, case, battery and accidents. It is the one Furla document read that names an Indian address, the Noida service centre.

Buying a genuine Furla

No Furla page read offers a way to check a bag: no code, hologram, QR, serial lookup or verification page appeared on the US or Italian terms, the British FAQ, the product pages, the help centre or the supplier manual. Some brands do publish one: Coach’s Coachtopia line offers a digital passport read by holding a phone to an emblem on the product.

Furla publishes no list of authorised Indian sellers either. The only India-specific authorised party any Furla document names is the Timex watch service centre in Noida.

Check 01

Read the country, not the address

The Bologna address is on every Myntra handbag declaration. The country line is the one that varies: China, Cambodia or Bulgaria on the 38 read.

Check 02

Look at the seller and importer

On Myntra every handbag read named Darveys as seller and NR Wardrobe Fuss as importer. The warranty route runs through the reseller first.

Check 03

For a watch, keep the certificate

The watch warranty needs a stamped certificate from an authorised dealer. The Indian service centre is Timex Watches Limited, Noida.

No Indian judgment or order concerning the Furla brand was found on Indian Kanoon on 22 September 2026.

Who Furla is actually for

Furla suits a buyer who wants a leather bag from an Italian house dating to 1927 and is content to judge each bag by its own label. On Myntra the handbags sold at a median of ₹36,590 on 22 September 2026, with almost every listing reduced.

It suits less well a buyer who needs a named Indian operator behind the purchase, or one paying for Italian manufacture. None is named after 2014, and on the day read the country line on Myntra did not say Italy.

Common questions

The FA take

Furla’s ownership is clear: an Italian company in Bologna, reported as 100% family-held since a debt settlement closed in June 2025, with its own accounts carried on the register. The Premium band is earned: on Myntra the handbags sold at a median of ₹36,590, 85.1% of MRP, on 22 September 2026.

The route to India is the part to read closely. No Indian operator is named after 2014, and every Myntra handbag read came through one seller and one importer. The label’s manufacturer line is the Bologna head office, and the country line said China on 28 of 38, Cambodia on 6 and Bulgaria on 4. The two-year warranty states no country scope and sends a reseller buyer to the reseller first.

An Italian family brand at a fair Premium price in India — buy the bag for its design, read its own label, and keep the reseller’s invoice for the warranty.
