Pepe Jeans Brand Audit: Spanish Denim, Two Indian Companies

Pepe Jeans, a Spanish denim brand of AWWG, is sold in India by its Mumbai subsidiary and, for innerwear, a Kolkata licensee. Here are prices and refund terms.

Pepe Jeans is a denim brand of Pepe Jeans S.L. of Spain, held by AWWG, a private Spanish group with no exchange ticker; G-III Apparel Group, Ltd. (Nasdaq: GIII) reports an 18.7% stake in AWWG, a minority holding. On the Indian register mirror read, the clothing marks sit with PJ Hungary Kft of Budapest and Pepe Public Limited of London, not with the Mumbai company that sells the brand here.

In India the clothing reaches buyers through Pepe Jeans India Limited of Mumbai, recorded on 9 June 2023 as 94% held by Pepe Jeans Europe B.V. of the Netherlands, and the innerwear through a separate Kolkata company on a licence. On 26 September 2026 a large Indian fashion marketplace held 7,979 listings on the brand facet, and the brand’s own Indian shop priced the Cash jean at MRP ₹7,999 and ₹3,999 selling, half off.

The short answer

Pepe Jeans belongs to AWWG, a private Spanish group that publishes turnover of €562,885,624 for the year ended 31 March 2025 and no brand figure. In India clothing is sold by Pepe Jeans India Limited, CIN U51311MH2011PLC218171, recorded on 9 June 2023 as 94% held by Pepe Jeans Europe B.V.; innerwear by a Kolkata company on a licence. On 26 September 2026 the brand’s own shop printed MRPs of ₹5,999 to ₹7,999 on three jeans, each half off, and £80 in Britain for the one jean, PM206318, that carries the same code on both shops. A faulty garment gets fifteen days and a money refund from the Mumbai company; the innerwear shop states no window and repays cash on delivery in vouchers.

Who owns Pepe Jeans

AWWG, whose own report records that the group name “was changed to All We Wear Group (AWWG)” in 2020, is unlisted and publishes the non-financial statement Spanish law asks of large groups. Its corporate pages list Mumbai among eight offices and name no Indian company.

The firmest document on control is a European Commission merger decision of 24 April 2015, recording L Capital Asia 2 Pte. Limited of Singapore and M1 Fashion Limited of the British Virgin Islands as parties who

acquire within the meaning of Article 3(1)(b) of the Merger Regulation joint control of the whole of the undertaking Pepe Jeans S.L.

European Commission merger decision, Case No COMP/M.7568, dated 24/04/2015; read 26 September 2026. The Commission “has decided not to oppose the notified operation”.

That clears a change of control and nothing more. After it, a press release of 10 June 2024 recorded G-III taking “an ownership stake of approximately 12% of AWWG”, a release of 29 July 2024 moved it “from approximately 12% to approximately 19%”, and the 10-K filed on 24 March 2026 reports 18.7% as at 31 January 2026. The 2024 release says AWWG “generates over $650 million in revenues”; the group’s own report prints €562,885,624 for the year ended 31 March 2025. The two are in different currencies and may cover different periods, and neither is converted here.

The group’s own non-financial reports, read 26 September 2026. Whether the 2022/23 figure is on the same basis as the later two was not established. Full audited consolidated accounts were not located in public form.

Every row below is taken from a public mirror of the Indian trade-mark register, which shortens some proprietor names. Four rows print a valid-until date that has passed while the status still reads “Registered”, and the mirror does not publish whether they were renewed, so nothing here says any mark has ended.

How Pepe Jeans reaches India

Not a licensee: a rating rationale of 9 June 2023 states that “Pepe Jeans Europe BV holds 94% stake in PJIL”, and one of 12 January 2021 said the same. A register mirror read on 26 September 2026 calls the company “a subsidiary of Pepe Jeans Europe Bv” without a percentage, so the 94% carries its 2023 date, and who holds the rest was not established. Before that, a report of 19 June 2012 records a licensee and, from the end of 2010, a joint venture.

Pepe Jeans India Limited is unlisted and carries the activity “Wholesale of textiles, clothing and footwear” (NIC 5131). Mirrors read on 26 September 2026 print revenue of ₹546.18 crore for the year ended 31 March 2025, “down 14.00% year-over-year”, against ₹638.3 crore the year before; these are mirror summaries, not accounts. On capital they disagree, one printing authorised ₹4,00,00,000 and paid-up ₹3,14,51,440 and two others ₹2.5 crore and ₹2.4 crore, and this page reconciles none of them.

The shop’s own terms page names the counterparty as “Pepe Jeans India Limited, a company incorporated and registered under the Companies Act of 1956”, calls it “an authorized online retailer / distributor for selling Pepe Jeans Products in India”, and gives Mumbai’s courts exclusive jurisdiction.

Its store count depends on the document read.

All three read 26 September 2026. Only the first is current. Three dates are three readings, not a direction of travel. A chain’s published store table is set out in the audit of a large Indian value-fashion chain.

Pepe Jeans on the shelf

On a large Indian fashion marketplace the brand facet held 7,979 listings on 26 September 2026. Forty taken in facet order were 24 jeans, 7 t-shirts, 5 shirts, 2 jackets, a pair of trousers and one other item: median MRP ₹3,299, median paid ₹1,806.50, which is 54.8% of MRP, with 29 of the forty reduced.

The brand’s own Indian shop reads differently. Three product pages there print country of origin Turkey and a Turkish manufacturer, with Pepe Jeans India Ltd of Mumbai as importer and marketer; twenty marketplace records print India on all twenty, with eight different Indian companies as manufacturer.

Where readCountry of originDeclared manufacturerSeller of record and importer

Both read 26 September 2026, names as the fields printed them. The two seller strings beginning “PEPE JEANS INDIA LIMITED” differ as printed and are not treated here as one entry.

Both readings are declarations, and neither is a production record. A declaration block names who signed for the goods and where they answer from; it does not say where a seam was sewn.

Where Pepe Jeans is made

The line headed “Manufactured By” is not a factory tour. It names the entity that has signed for the goods, because Indian packaging rules require somebody nameable. The address is one for answering, not proof a seam was sewn there. So the two sets of declarations are reported as printed. The group, on its report for the year to 31 March 2024, does not own manufacturing facilities: “Our partners (factories, vendors, and subcontractors) produce our garments”. The same report touches Indian production once, in a footnote:

“Visibility(28) of our supply chain for our three brands, being able to locate all of our production units: 100%.” Footnote 28 reads: “Excluding our Pepe Jeans India production units.”

AWWG Non-Financial Report for fiscal year 2023/24, period end 31 March 2024; read 26 September 2026. The equivalent claim in the report for the year ended 31 March 2025 carries no such footnote. Both are dated and both printed.

The phrase “our Pepe Jeans India production units” is the one reference to Indian production found in the group’s own reporting, and the footnote is quoted as printed.

The brand’s denim sustainability page, not any product page read, carries the production claims. One is built properly: the Wiser Wash process, “29 litres of water per garment, compared to the average of 65 litres. That’s 55% less!”, “40% less energy” and “No toxic chemicals”, is “Certified by Control Union”. The rest names no standard, and no durability, abrasion or shrinkage figure was published on any product page read.

Two companies on one label

Pepe Jeans Innerfashion Private Limited of Kolkata, CIN U18209WB2017PTC223633, status “Active”, incorporated 29 November 2017, runs a separate shop under the same name on a licence from PJ Hungary Kft for “Pepe Jeans / Pepe Jeans London”, continued “with revised terms and conditions”. The group’s Dutch company sold its 50% of the business in December 2021, on a trade report of 10 December 2021.

Returns, warranty and who answers

The promise on the Indian shop is given by the Indian company. For an item found defective within 15 days, the FAQ says “we will always accept the item for assessment and provide a refund if validated as faulty.” The undertakings on that site are given by Pepe Jeans India Limited rather than by other group companies.

The apparel shop’s returns page, FAQ and terms, the innerwear shop’s refund policy, and a trade report of 10 December 2021 naming the licence; all read 26 September 2026.

Two Indian companies sell under one name, on different refund terms; how a marketplace’s own label handles returns is set out in the audit of a marketplace’s own womenswear label.

The apparel site’s terms designate a grievance officer at the Mumbai address, with an email, the number 022-61330122 and the designation “Manager-Ecommerce”; the privacy policy gives a separate grievance contact.

What Pepe Jeans costs in India

The jean called Cash carries code PM206318 on both shops with the same composition. The prices sit side by side below, with no conversion.

India, the brand’s own shop“Hatch Regular Slim Fit Regular Waist Jeans”PM206323WP42“99% Cotton + 1% Elastane”MRP ₹5,999, selling ₹2,999, 50% off

All five pages read 26 September 2026. The two Hatch rows are the nearest products to each other, not a comparison: the codes differ, the rise differs and the cloth differs. The sterling price and the rupee MRP are shown as each shop printed them, unconverted.

One style number covers two different cloths here, at two MRPs — ₹7,999 down to ₹3,999 and ₹6,999 down to ₹3,499 — so a reader pricing the Cash jean across two countries may not be pricing the same garment. And all three Indian pages showed exactly half off MRP where the two British pages showed none; three pages and forty listings on one day support no statement about a permanent discount. On this site’s tiers that is mid-market denim. A single Indian label’s own paperwork is set out in our page on that label.

Checking a Pepe Jeans is genuine

Pepe Jeans publishes no check. Searches on 26 September 2026 found no list of authorised sellers, no counterfeit warning and no way of telling a real garment from a copy on the Indian or the global site.

Check 01

Read the importer line

The brand’s own shop names Pepe Jeans India Ltd of Mumbai as importer; the marketplace field was blank on 9 of 20 records. A blank line or another name is a question for the seller.

Check 02

Match the origin to the manufacturer line

Turkey went with a Turkish manufacturer on the brand’s shop, India with an Indian company on the marketplace. The pack must name both.

Check 03

Compare the MRP with the brand’s own shop

The Cash jean PM206318VS42 carried MRP ₹7,999 on the brand’s shop on 26 September 2026; the marketplace median MRP was ₹3,299. Compare MRPs, not reduced prices.

Check 04

Read the footer for the company

The apparel shop’s terms name Pepe Jeans India Limited and Mumbai’s courts; the innerwear shop belongs to the Kolkata company, which repays cash on delivery in vouchers.

The record in India

The one decided matter on this page is the European Commission decision of 24 April 2015, which cleared a change of control and nothing more. Searches on 26 September 2026 found no matter naming this brand decided by an Indian court, and nobody has ruled on any price, declaration field, warranty term or register entry described here.

Who Pepe Jeans is actually for

Pepe Jeans suits a buyer who wants a foreign denim name sold by the group’s own Indian arm rather than a licensee, with a company, an address and a phone number printed on the shop, at ₹2,999 to ₹3,999 against MRPs of ₹5,999 to ₹7,999, and fifteen days with a money refund from Pepe Jeans India Limited. The innerwear buyer is dealing with a different company on different terms.

Common questions

Who owns Pepe Jeans?

AWWG, the private Spanish group built around Pepe Jeans S.L., which has no exchange ticker. G-III Apparel Group reports an 18.7% stake in AWWG as at 31 January 2026, a minority holding. A European Commission decision of 24 April 2015 cleared joint control of Pepe Jeans S.L. by L Capital Asia 2 Pte. Limited and M1 Fashion Limited; nothing on the page shows a later change of control.

Is Pepe Jeans in India a licensee, a joint venture or a subsidiary?

For clothing, a subsidiary. Pepe Jeans India Limited, CIN U51311MH2011PLC218171, was recorded on 9 June 2023 as 94% held by Pepe Jeans Europe B.V., and a register mirror describes it as “a subsidiary of Pepe Jeans Europe Bv” without a percentage. A trade report of 19 June 2012 records the earlier history: present in India since 1989, “first distributed through a licensee and since the end of 2010 through a joint venture”. For innerwear the answer is a licence to a company the group no longer owns.

Who owns the Pepe Jeans trade mark in India?

Not the Indian company. On the register mirror read on 26 September 2026 the class-25 records sit with PJ Hungary Kft of Budapest (3014628, “Registered”) and Pepe Public Limited of London (424840 and 605347, both “Registered”), and a class-18 record with a Curaçao company. Four of the records print a valid-until date that has passed while the status still reads “Registered”, and the mirror does not publish whether they were renewed, so this page says nothing about any mark having ended.

Where are Pepe Jeans sold in India made?

The declarations depend on where you buy. The brand’s own shop printed country of origin Turkey and a Turkish manufacturer on all three pages read; twenty marketplace records printed India and eight Indian manufacturers. The group’s only reference to Indian production is footnote 28 of its report for the year ended 31 March 2024, which reads “Excluding our Pepe Jeans India production units”.

Why are there two Pepe Jeans websites with different refund rules?

Because there are two Indian companies. Clothing is sold by Pepe Jeans India Limited of Mumbai, which gives fifteen days and refunds money; innerwear by Pepe Jeans Innerfashion Private Limited of Kolkata, CIN U18209WB2017PTC223633, on a licence from PJ Hungary Kft, whose policy states no return window and repays a cash-on-delivery order in e-gift vouchers. The group’s Dutch company sold its 50% of that business in December 2021.

The FA take

On the question most imported labels duck, this one answers. The shop names its company, its address, its jurisdiction and a phone number, and the company behind it is the group’s own arm rather than somebody renting a name.

The trade marks are printed to proprietors in Budapest and London rather than to the Mumbai seller, and the origin field depends on the channel: Turkey on the brand’s own pages read, India on the marketplace records. The innerwear carrying the same name is sold by a separate Kolkata licensee on its own refund terms, including vouchers for cash-on-delivery orders.

Buy the denim on the day the price is halved, keep the invoice for fifteen days, and read the footer before you pay — because which Pepe Jeans company you bought from decides whether a refund comes back as money.
