Zouk Brand Audit: Printed Bags, Made in India, Myntra Prices

Zouk brand audit: Sea Turtle Private Limited's printed bags, declared made in India, with reported accounts, Myntra prices, warranty terms and the PETA logo.
Zouk brand audit by FashionAudit: Zouk logo and the headline “Printed Bags, Made in India, Myntra Prices” over a handcrafted tote bag with ikat prints on a wooden bench

Zouk is an Indian bag brand, run from Navi Mumbai and Thane, that sells handbags, laptop backpacks, wallets and cabin trolleys in printed Indian fabrics and what it calls vegan leather. It belongs to Sea Turtle Private Limited, an unlisted company incorporated in 2016 and backed by venture investors, none of whom is reported to hold control.

Its selling points are two claims: that the bags are handmade in India, and that they are “PETA-approved” vegan. On 22 September 2026, all 40 Zouk declarations read on Myntra named India as the country of origin and Sea Turtle as the manufacturer. The vegan claim rests on a logo licence from PETA India, and the brand’s pages describe its “vegan leather” as synthetic.

The short answer

Zouk is an Indian brand run by its own Indian company, and every Myntra declaration read named that company as maker and India as origin. Reported revenue grew from ₹21.82 crore to about ₹125 crore in three years, and the loss widened to about ₹19 crore. On Myntra the median bag sold at 36.3% of MRP, and “vegan leather” is described only as synthetic.

Who owns Zouk

The brand’s own site answers the first question directly. Its terms of service, read on 22 September 2026, say: “This website is operated by Zouk, a brand under Sea Turtle Private Limited.” The About page and the homepage footer repeat that Zouk is “a brand under Sea Turtle Private Limited company”, and product pages print “Brand Owned and Marketed by: Sea Turtle Private Limited”.

Sea Turtle’s corporate identity number reads like a home-grown business: U for unlisted, MH for Maharashtra, 2016 for the year and PTC for an ordinary private company, not the FTC a foreign subsidiary carries. The register mirrors Zauba Corp, Tofler, The Company Check and QuickCompany agree on the incorporation date, 14 June 2016. Zauba gives the paid-up capital as ₹1,91,02,050.

The founders are Disha Singh and Pradeep Krishnakumar, both on the board according to the mirrors, alongside nominee directors put there by investors. The mirrors disagree on who those nominees are today. The press disagrees on the founding year too: Entrackr has said 2015 and Inc42 2016, while the company itself was incorporated in June 2016.

The QuickCompany mirror of the trade-mark register shows the ZOUK word and device marks, both filed on 21 June 2022, registered to Sea Turtle in ten classes. Later applications for “Alt By Zouk”, “1991 By Zouk” and “Z. By Zouk” are shown as not yet registered.

No sale, merger or change of control appears in any source read. The shareholdings that have been published come from Entrackr’s readings of filings, not from an annual return we have seen. Before the 2024 Series B round, Entrackr gave each founder 31% and Stellaris 19.63%. We tag Zouk Independent on that basis: the investors hold minority stakes, and no filing shows any one of them past control.

The money: revenue, losses and the rounds

The register mirrors carry accounts only to 31 March 2024, so every year below comes from a business-press report of filings with the Registrar of Companies. We have not read the filings themselves, and the table names the report behind each line.

Year to 31 MarchRevenueLossWhere the figure comes from
2022₹21.82 crore₹77 lakhEntrackr, October 2024, reporting RoC figures
2023₹47.41 crore₹10.55 croreEntrackr, October 2024, reporting RoC figures

2025, second report₹125 crore₹19 croreEntrackr, June 2026

Business-press reports of RoC filings. Inc42’s company page gives ₹126.9 crore for 2024-25. Tofler’s band for 2023-24, ₹75–100 crore, is consistent with the ₹78 crore reported.

The two 2024-25 reports do not match to the crore, and one puts growth at 62% where the other says 60.7%. Both are printed because neither is the filing. What they agree on is the shape: revenue from ₹21.82 crore to ₹125–127 crore in three years, and the loss back above ₹19 crore after narrowing to ₹3.6 crore the year before.

Startuppedia’s breakdown of 2024-25 shows where the money went. Total expenses were ₹146.4 crore, including ₹58.5 crore on materials, ₹56.3 crore of ad spend and ₹8 crore on employee benefits. Operating cash flow was negative at ₹32.4 crore, and the company held ₹58.6 crore in cash at the year’s end. The ad figure is almost as large as the materials bill.

Zouk’s funding rounds, as reported
  • Early 2021Seed, undisclosed, led by Titan Capital
  • Jul 2021Pre-Series A, $1.5 million, led by Stellaris
  • Mar 2023$3 million, led by Stellaris; called “strategic” by Inc42, Series A by Entrackr
  • Oct 2024Series B, $10 million, led by Aavishkaar Capital

About $14.5 million in all, as Inc42 and YourStory totalled it.

Entrackr and Business Standard, July 2021; Inc42, March 2023 and October 2024; YourStory, October 2024.

A fifth round was proposed in 2026. Entrackr reported in June 2026 that a special resolution provided for 2,468 compulsorily convertible preference shares at ₹2,44,950 each, about ₹60.45 crore in all, from Stellaris, Aavishkaar, Sharrp Ventures and Mihir Gadani. It computed an implied valuation of about ₹610 crore and stakes, after the round, of 27.96% for Stellaris and 15.97% for Aavishkaar.

Worth knowing

The 2026 round is a resolution, not a completed raise. Entrackr noted that the filing does not say whether the shares have been allotted, so treat the ₹610 crore valuation and the post-round stakes as proposals.

The company also makes claims of its own, which are labelled as such. It has told reporters it grew revenue “10X” after July 2021, and YourStory reported in October 2024 that it had more than seven lakh customers. The Series B money, the same report said, was to take its own stores to “a total of 75”.

Who makes Zouk bags

The brand says its bags are made by hand, in India. The FAQ says the materials are “sourced from various parts of India”, and that products use “100% vegan leather and handcrafted Indian fabrics such as Ikat, Jute Khadi”. The Taj Guldasta tote page says: “Every Zouk product is handmade by our artisans.” None of the site’s pages read names a factory or a contract maker.

The press has carried larger numbers from the company. Forbes India, in an undated report, said Zouk “employs over 600 artisans across India” and produces “at a production facility in Mumbai’s Dharavi”. The Established, on 20 September 2023, gave “more than 800 artisans” working “directly and indirectly”. The Company Check, a register mirror, gives an employee count of 42 in March 2024. These figures may measure different things, and no filing read reconciles them.

The statutory declarations on Myntra settle the question of who answers for the goods. We read 40 Zouk product records on 22 September 2026 — the block the Legal Metrology rules require, giving the country of origin and the company legally responsible. India was the country of origin on all 40. Sea Turtle was named as manufacturer on all 40: 38 with an address near Kalher village, and two with a second-floor address.

That Kalher address sits beside another detail. Zouk’s product pages print, as the “Registered Address”, a Shree Arihant Compound site on Reti Bandar Road in Bhiwandi, Thane. The registered office on the register is in Sanpada, Navi Mumbai. The two addresses differ; the Bhiwandi one matches the declarations.

A declaration names the company answerable for the goods, which need not be the workshop that stitched them. Nothing read says whether the Dharavi facility in the Forbes report is Zouk’s own or a contractor’s. What the declarations do settle is the India claim: 40 of 40 made in India means no import duty sits inside a Zouk price.

Who sells Zouk on Myntra

The buy button on the same 40 records named two sellers. Sea Turtle Private Limited, the brand’s own company, sold one listing. The other 39 were sold under the name Supercom Net.

Supercom Net39A third-party marketplace seller
Sea Turtle Pvt Ltd1The brand’s own company

Myntra product records for Zouk, read 22 September 2026.

For a buyer, the practical point is that the maker line and the seller line name different parties on almost every Zouk listing. The maker is Zouk’s own company every time; the seller, nearly every time, is not.

On 40 of 40 listings the box names Zouk’s own company as maker. On 39 of them, a third-party seller is the seller of record.

What Zouk costs in India

Zouk has no home market abroad to compare against, so the useful comparison is between the price it prints and the price it charges. On its own site, read on 22 September 2026, the core bags sold below ₹2,000 and the cabin trolley above it.

Product on zouk.co.inMRPSelling price
GeoOptics Women’s Office Bag₹1,999₹1,599
Amalia Laptop Backpack, Multicolor Mandala Print₹2,799₹1,599
Taj Guldasta Everyday Tote BagNot captured₹1,749
Indus Lattice Amorah Trolley, cabin sizeNot captured₹3,299

zouk.co.in product pages, read 22 September 2026. Every price shown “incl. of all taxes”; country of origin India on each page.

On the two bags with both figures, the site charged 80% and 57% of its own MRP. The Myntra shelf reads deeper. We sounded 100 distinct Zouk listings on 22 September 2026, from a brand listing of 1,118 products: handbags 51, backpacks 26 and duffels nine. The median MRP was ₹6,064 and the median price paid ₹2,199, or 36.3% of MRP. All 100 were reduced, across 26 distinct MRPs.

That puts Zouk near the bottom of the Indian bag shelf read that day for share of MRP charged. Baggit sold at 31.8% and Lavie’s handbags at 35.9%, while Da Milano sold at 72.7%.

The price band here is Mid-range, computed from the ₹2,199 median paid on a Myntra shelf made up mostly of handbags and backpacks, the brand’s core line. It sits just over the ₹2,000 line, and the own-site bags above sold just under it. With every listing reduced, the printed MRP tells a buyer very little.

Vegan, PETA and jute: what the claims rest on

Zouk sells itself on materials. We read its homepage, FAQ, About page, four product pages, a wallet page and two blog posts on 22 September 2026, and set each claim beside what is published with it.

ClaimWhereWhat is named beside it
“PeTA approved 100% Vegan”Homepage; product pagesPETA India’s “PETA-Approved Vegan” logo programme — a licence to use a logo, not a laboratory test
“Vegan leather”Product material lines; FAQFAQ: “a kind of synthetic leather that does not involve any animal cruelty”; no polymer named on any brand page read
“Jute Handbags”, “Jute Khadi”Collection name; FAQNo jute share given; the Mughal Art tote in that collection lists “Vegan Leather and Handicraft Fabric”
“Biodegradable”Jute collection copyNo standard or test named
“Unbreakable, scratch-resistant polycarbonate shell”Amorah trolley pageNo test named; the warranty separately covers “hardcase breakage”

zouk.co.in homepage, FAQ, About page, product pages and blog, read 22 September 2026; PETA India’s blog.

The PETA link is real and documented on PETA India’s own site, which calls Zouk a “‘PETA-Approved Vegan’ lifestyle brand”. Zouk’s blog announced the logo in March 2019. Separately, PETA India says Zouk “won Best Vegan Wallets at the PETA India Vegan Fashion Awards 2021”. A logo licence and an award are both worth knowing. Neither is a certification of what the material is.

On that question the brand’s pages say “synthetic” and “faux”. Zouk’s own blog discusses the plastics vegan leather can be made from, in general terms, but no product page read says which one Zouk uses. The one tote read from the “Jute Handbags” collection lists vegan leather and handicraft fabric on its material line. A buyer choosing Zouk for jute should read the material line on the bag itself.

Warranty, advertised and published

The homepage makes no warranty claim, and the trolley page says only “see our Warranty Policy”. That luggage policy, read on 22 September 2026, is specific: “This warranty applies for a period of 3 years, starting from the date of purchase.” It covers the outer shell against manufacturing defects at delivery and hardcase breakage, and also the trolley, lock, carry handle and zip, the zip only for defects present at delivery.

The exclusions are wide. Wear and tear, chemicals and heat are out for hard cases; soft cases also exclude mishandling, accidents and water. A forgotten lock code and a zip burst by overpacking are not covered. The customer takes the bag to the service centre at their own cost, and repair or replacement is at Zouk’s discretion.

For handbags, backpacks and wallets, no warranty term is published at all. The GeoOptics page gives buyers “2 days of delivery” to report a damaged or defective item by email. The terms provide products “as is” and “as available”, without warranties “of any kind” “(except as expressly stated by us)”. So a Zouk bag carries a two-day window, and only the luggage a three-year promise.

Authenticity

The FAQ, terms and product pages read on 22 September 2026 give no way to check a specific bag — no code, hologram, QR or list of authorised sellers. Such lists exist elsewhere: Casio India publishes one naming its authorised online sellers by company, read the same day. For a Zouk buyer, the practical checks are the maker line, which should name Sea Turtle, and the seller line.

Check 01

Read the manufacturer line

On all 40 Myntra records read it named Sea Turtle Private Limited, with India as the origin. Another name there is worth a question.

Check 02

Read the material line, not the collection name

The tote read from the “Jute Handbags” collection listed vegan leather and handicraft fabric. The line on the bag is the claim that counts.

Check 03

Open a bag within two days

For bags and wallets, the only published remedy is an email within two days of delivery. Inspect it on arrival.

Who Zouk is actually for

Zouk suits a buyer who wants a printed-fabric bag made in India by the company that owns the brand, at well under its printed MRP. A buyer who wants a specific material should check the material line on the bag, since the pages read describe “vegan leather” as synthetic and the tote read from the jute collection lists vegan leather and handicraft fabric.

Buyers comparing it with Skybags or Wildcraft for a backpack, or with Safari and VIP Industries for a trolley, are weighing a younger company that reported a loss for 2024-25. The trolley carries a published three-year policy; for the bags, the published remedy is a two-day damage window.

The FA take

What is good about Zouk is that its paperwork points one way. The brand’s own site names Sea Turtle Private Limited as operator, and all 40 Myntra declarations read name Sea Turtle as maker and India as origin. Reported revenue rose from ₹21.82 crore to about ₹125 crore in three years, and the median Myntra bag sold for ₹2,199.

The questions are about the words on the tag. “PETA approved” is a logo licence and a 2021 award, not a test; “vegan leather” is described as synthetic; and the one tote read from the jute collection lists vegan leather and handicraft fabric. The company lost about ₹19 crore in 2024-25, and its bags carry a two-day damage window rather than a warranty.

An Indian brand whose maker is always on the box — buy it for the print and the price, and read the material line on the tag.
