Louis Stitch Brand Audit: A Gurugram Company, 40 of 40 Listings Made in India

Who runs Louis Stitch, why no document links it to Louis Vuitton or Louis Philippe, what "Italian" means on its pages, where the shoes are made and what they sell for.
Louis Stitch brand audit by FashionAudit: Louis Stitch logo over tan leather oxford shoes and a belt

Louis Stitch is an Indian men’s footwear and clothing brand run by Gunmetal Stitches Private Limited, a private company incorporated in Gurugram on 19 July 2019. Its founder and chief executive is Amol Goel, and the company sells through its own website, six stores in Delhi-NCR and the big marketplaces.

The name makes people ask about two famous Louis labels. The documents answer that plainly: nothing in the company register, the trade-mark records or the funding announcements read for this audit links Louis Stitch to Louis Vuitton or to Louis Philippe. The more useful questions for a buyer are what “Italian” means on its product pages, where the shoes are made, and what they actually sell for.

The short answer

Louis Stitch is a Gurugram company’s brand, founder-led, with two press-reported ₹5 crore investment rounds and FY24 revenue of ₹36.13 crore on a register mirror. On 21 September 2026 all 40 Myntra records read declared India as origin, with ten named manufacturers. Its product pages call the leather “Italian” and give India as country of origin; every item read on its own site was selling at 40% to 51% below the crossed-out price.

Who owns Louis Stitch

The company behind the brand is Gunmetal Stitches Private Limited. The site’s terms say its products, services and site are “offered by Gunmetal Stitches Private Limited” under Indian law, with disputes going to the courts of Delhi. Its CIN begins with U and ends in PTC, the register’s own markers for an unlisted, ordinary private company, registered in Haryana in 2019.

Amol Goel and Ajay Kumar Kalra have been its only directors since the day it was incorporated. YourStory, in a profile of 20 July 2023, described Goel as founder and chief executive and dated the brand to November 2019. No free source read publishes the shareholding, and no change of control is on the record.

Two outside investors are named in the press. On 27 and 28 April 2023, releases reported ₹5 crore from the Bijli Group, the family office of PVR founder Ajay Bijli, through its ATC Logistics arm, at a stated pre-money valuation of ₹100 crore. Around 20 to 22 July 2023, a second ₹5 crore came from Space World Group. Both were described as pre-Series A rounds. At that stated valuation the first cheque is a minority stake, and a minority stake is not ownership.

One detail sits apart from the company. The LOUIS STITCH marks read on the QuickCompany register mirror are filed in the name of Amol Goel personally, not Gunmetal Stitches. That includes registered LOUIS STITCH PLAY marks in class 18, for bags and leather goods, and class 25, for footwear and clothing. No registered user is recorded on anything read, and no document read sets out how the company uses marks its founder holds.

On the name itself, the finding comes from what the documents name. The operator, both directors and the mark proprietor are identified, and none is connected in any document read to LVMH, which owns Louis Vuitton, or to the Aditya Birla group, which owns Louis Philippe. The company has not published where its name comes from, so this page does not guess.

The money, and figures that do not reconcile

Gunmetal Stitches is a private company, so its accounts are read here through register mirrors and the business press, and each figure below says which. The earliest numbers were given by the company to YourStory in July 2023. The later ones come from TheCompanyCheck, a register mirror, and from Inc42’s company database.

Year to 31 MarchRevenueSource and type
FY21₹5 croreYourStory, 20 July 2023, company-reported
FY22₹22 croreYourStory, same article, company-reported
FY23₹45 croreYourStory, same article, company-reported
FY24₹36.13 crore, “52% YoY growth”TheCompanyCheck, register mirror
FY24₹36.1 croreInc42 company database

These figures do not reconcile, and this page does not pick one. A 52% rise that ends at ₹36.13 crore would start from roughly ₹23.8 crore, not from the ₹45 crore the company gave for FY23. Either the FY23 press figure or the mirror’s growth figure is not describing the same thing, and no document read explains the gap.

The mirrors also disagree on the latest year filed: ZaubaCorp and Tofler show a last balance sheet for March 2023, while TheCompanyCheck says statements were filed for the year to March 2024. No profit or loss figure for any year was readable on the mirrors. The company’s own YourStory profile says it has been profitable “from the very 1st Day of our operations”, which is its statement, not a filed number.

The register does show borrowing. Three charges are recorded in favour of banks: Kotak Mahindra Bank for ₹75 lakh in May 2022 and ₹5 crore in March 2024, and HDFC Bank for ₹2 crore in March 2023. TheCompanyCheck carried about 104 employees as of April 2024.

Where the shoes are made

The brand’s own product pages read on 21 September 2026 say “Country of Origin: India” and name “Manufacturer & Marketed By: Gunmetal Stitches Pvt. Ltd.” at the Udyog Vihar address. The only published account of how the making is organised is the founder-sourced YourStory profile of July 2023. It described footwear made through “tie-ups with manufacturers in Chennai and Kanpur”, apparel made in-house in Gurugram, and a 70,000 sq ft distribution centre there.

Myntra’s declarations fill in the names. Of 40 Louis Stitch product records read on 21 September 2026, 38 footwear and 2 jeans, every one declared India as country of origin. Ten different manufacturers were named across them.

Myntra product records, read 21 September 2026.

A Legal Metrology declaration names the company legally answerable for the goods, not necessarily the one that stitched them. So the brand’s company named on 19 records and nine outside makers named on the other 21 are both lawful ways to fill the line. What the table does show is that the operator named on the site is also the most common manufacturer and seller on the shelf.

The second seller needs a standard sentence. A company called Shreyash Retail Private Limited owns a registered mark reading “Supercom Net”, and Myntra named “Supercom Net” as seller of record on 18 of 40 Louis Stitch listings read on 21 September 2026. No document read links Shreyash Retail to the brand.

What “Italian” means on the page

The word the site leans on hardest is “Italian”. On 21 September 2026 a search of the brand’s own site for “italian leather” listed 885 products. What each page calls Italian is the leather, and on one page a toe shape. It is not the design house or the making.

The Jet Black Italian Crust Leather Formal Brogue is “built using premium Italian crust leather”. The Jet Black Handmade Premium Italian Leather Derby is “hand-crafted only from Italian Tier-1 Leather”. The Rosewood Italian Leather Derby lists “Finest Italian Leather” and an “Italian Chisel Toe Shape”. Each of those pages also says “Country of Origin: India”.

The company described its sourcing differently in 2023. Funding releases of 27 April and 22 July 2023 said its materials came from “Argentina, Russia, Egypt, and Germany”. The product pages say Italian leather. No page read names a tannery, a country-of-tanning document, a certificate or a test for any Italian claim.

Worth knowing

The word “Italian” on these pages describes the leather, and the same pages give India as country of origin. With no tannery named, weigh it as the brand’s description and let the box decide where the shoe was made.

Handcrafted, leatherette and construction

Product copy across the site says shoes are “beautifully handcrafted with all love and affection by 3rd generation artisans”. No artisan, workshop or share of hand work is named, and no certifier is cited.

Two boots sold under the “Handcrafted” name print a material line worth reading before buying. The Brunette Brown Handcrafted Chelsea Milled Boots list “Upper Material: Leatherette Sole Material: TPR”. The Tan Handcrafted Derby Lace Up Chain Boots list “Upper Material: Leatherette. Sole Material: TPR.” Leatherette is a synthetic material made to look like leather, and TPR is thermoplastic rubber. Neither product title says leather, and the product page states the material plainly.

Two boots sold as Handcrafted print “Upper Material: Leatherette” on their own product pages, so the material line, not the title, tells you what the upper is.

On construction, every page read says “cemented construction”, meaning the sole is glued to the upper. A search of the site for “goodyear” found nothing, while the same search found 660 products for “genuine leather”, so no Louis Stitch shoe read is described as Goodyear welted, the stitched method that allows resoling. “Genuine leather” appears in titles and copy with no tannage, grade or certifier named.

A global brand, or a Delhi-NCR one?

Product copy on the site says “Louis Stitch is a global footwear brand present in New York, London, Dubai, Singapore, India, and Sri Lanka”. The brand’s own store page, read the same day, lists six stores: MGF Metropolitan Mall, Ardee Mall and Mega Mall in Gurugram, Lajpat Nagar II in Delhi, The Great India Place in Noida and Mahagun Mall in Ghaziabad. All six are in Delhi-NCR, and nothing read supports stores or an entity abroad.

What Louis Stitch costs in India

The brand’s site shows a crossed-out price, sometimes labelled MRP, beside a lower selling price. That crossed-out figure is the shop’s own comparison, not a declaration read on a box, and the pages read do not say whether the selling price includes GST.

Product, louisstitch.comCrossed-out priceSelling priceOff
Jet Black Italian Crust Leather Formal Brogue₹24,999₹14,99940.0%
Jet Black Handmade Premium Italian Leather Derby₹9,999₹5,49945.0%
Rosewood Italian Leather Derby₹5,499₹2,69950.9%
Jet Black Genuine Leather Ultra Lightweight Slip-On₹4,499₹2,29948.9%
Brunette Brown Handcrafted Chelsea Milled Boots (leatherette)₹5,999₹2,99950.0%

louisstitch.com, read 21 September 2026. One read of the Chelsea boot page the same day showed ₹2,499 against ₹3,999; the home page showed the figures above.

Every item read was selling at 40% to 51% below its crossed-out price. Myntra told the same story. A sounding of 100 distinct listings on 21 September 2026 gave a median MRP of ₹4,999 and a median price paid of ₹2,501, or 50.0% of MRP, with 74 of the 100 reduced and 13 distinct MRPs. On this evidence, half the printed figure is the normal price, not a sale.

The Myntra shelf is not all shoes. Its 5,401 listings, read against a Columbia control of 2,433 the same session, included 41 shirts in the 100 sampled, then casual shoes 19, boots 14, formal shoes 9 and jeans 7. The median there mixes shirts and shoes, so the tier rests on the footwear itself.

Across the five shoes on the brand’s site, the median selling price is ₹2,999, and it stays under ₹3,000 whichever Chelsea reading is used. That places Louis Stitch in the mid-range band for footwear, on what is charged rather than what is crossed out. Because every pair read declares India, no finished-shoe import duty sits in the price. For how an older Indian shoe business prices and declares its range, see our Bata audit.

Counterfeits and how to buy safely

Louis Stitch publishes no authenticity code, hologram, QR check or serial lookup on the pages read, and no list of authorised Indian sellers. Its 2023 release named Myntra, Amazon, Flipkart and Nykaa as channels. Some Indian brands do publish a counterfeit page naming their authorised sellers by company; Noise, an Indian consumer brand, does, which shows such a page can exist. No Louis Stitch equivalent was found.

A search of Indian Kanoon on 21 September 2026 for “Louis Stitch”, “Gunmetal Stitches”, “Amol Goel” with trade mark, and “Louis Stitch” with “Louis Vuitton” or “Louis Philippe” showed no judgments or orders. The same search found 123 results for “Louis Vuitton Malletier” with trade mark, so it does surface such cases. That covers reported court judgments and orders only, and nobody has ruled on the Louis Stitch name in any of them.

Check 01

Read the seller

Gunmetal Stitches was seller on 22 of 40 Myntra records read and Supercom Net on 18. Another name is not proof of a fake, but read the rest of the declaration.

Check 02

Read the material line

The upper material is printed on the product page. “Handcrafted” in a title does not tell you whether the upper is leather or leatherette.

Check 03

Treat the crossed-out price as a label

Every item read sold at roughly half of it or a little more. Compare selling prices across the brand’s site and the marketplace, not discounts.

Who Louis Stitch is actually for

Louis Stitch suits a buyer who wants a mid-priced, India-made formal or casual shoe from a company that is easy to identify. The operator is named in the site’s terms, sells most of its own Myntra stock, and appears as manufacturer on almost half the records read. Among other Indian shoe names, compare our Woodland and Metro Shoes audits.

It suits less well a buyer paying for a place of origin or a method. The shoes read are made in India, glued rather than welted, and the “Italian” on the page describes leather no document traces to Italy. Buyers weighing it against a larger international shoe company can read our Skechers audit.

Common questions

Is Louis Stitch related to Louis Vuitton or Louis Philippe?

No document read links them. Louis Stitch is operated by Gunmetal Stitches Private Limited of Gurugram, its directors are Amol Goel and Ajay Kumar Kalra, and its marks are filed by Amol Goel; none is connected to LVMH or the Aditya Birla group in any record read.

Is Louis Stitch an Indian brand?

Yes. Its company was incorporated in Haryana on 19 July 2019, and YourStory dates the brand to November 2019. All 40 Myntra records read on 21 September 2026 declared India as country of origin.

Are Louis Stitch shoes made in Italy?

The product pages read give India as country of origin and describe the leather as Italian. The company’s 2023 releases named Argentina, Russia, Egypt and Germany as sources, and no page read names a tannery.

Does Louis Stitch have stores abroad?

Product copy names New York, London, Dubai, Singapore and Sri Lanka, but the brand’s own store page listed six stores on 21 September 2026, all in Delhi-NCR. Nothing read supports stores abroad.

Is Louis Stitch always on sale?

On the day read, yes in effect. Every item read on its site sold 40% to 51% below the crossed-out price, and Myntra’s median price paid was 50.0% of MRP, with 74 of 100 listings reduced.

The FA take

Louis Stitch is easier to trace than most brands on the Indian shelf. One Gurugram company is named in the site’s terms, sells 22 of 40 Myntra records read, and is named as manufacturer on 19 of them. Every record declares India, and no finished-shoe import duty sits in a price whose median is under ₹3,000 on the brand’s own site.

The words deserve more care than the company. A site search for “italian leather” lists 885 products, with no tannery named, beside a 2023 sourcing list without Italy. Two “Handcrafted” boots are leatherette. A “global” brand lists six stores, all in Delhi-NCR. And the crossed-out price sat 40% to 51% above the selling price on every item read.

Buy Louis Stitch for a traceable, India-made mid-range shoe at about half its crossed-out price, and read the material line rather than the adjectives.
