Maxima Brand Audit: Who Owns It, What It Costs, And Why There Is No CIN

Who owns Maxima, why a partnership firm has no CIN or revenue, what its India declarations say, what its watches cost here, and what the brand does not publish.

Maxima is one of the first names an Indian buyer meets at the cheap end of a watch counter, usually for under ₹2,000. It is not a company. It is the watch brand of P.A. Time Industries, and the clearest description of that business comes from a court: the High Court of Himachal Pradesh, in a judgment of 13 January 2023, calls it “a partnership firm”.

That phrase settles most of what this page can tell you. A partnership firm does not file with the companies register, so there is no CIN, no paid-up capital, no board of directors and no filed revenue. That absence is the finding rather than a hole in the reading.

The short answer

Maxima is the watch brand of P.A. Time Industries, a partnership firm with its head office and works at Kasauli Road, Dharampur, in Solan district, Himachal Pradesh. The same firm owns the marks, runs the website and is named on both the manufacturer and the importer lines of all 28 marketplace records read on 23 September 2026, every one of which declares India as the country of origin. No document read links the brand to Seiko of Japan. What it does not publish matters too: no movement supplier, no specification on its own product pages, and three different founding years across its own two websites.

Who owns Maxima

Four documents answer the ownership question and they agree. The brand site’s terms say maximawatches.com is “operated by P A Time Industries”. The contact page names the same firm at Unit-II, Kasauli Road, Dharampur. The trade site prints “P.A. TIME INDUSTRIES — Head Office and Works” at that address. And the trade-mark register, read through a mirror, records the class 14 MAXIMA mark in the firm’s name at the same address.

So the brand, the mark holder, the website operator and the declared manufacturer are one business at one address. There is no holding company, no foreign parent and no licensor between the maker and the buyer. For an Indian watch brand at this price that is unusual, and it is the strongest thing on this page.

The other half of the answer is what does not exist. A companies-register mirror searched on 23 September 2026 shows no company named P A Time Industries — the two records it returns are a Gujarat lime business and a Jharkhand company, neither in watches. The same mirror, the same day, returns Titan Company Limited and its CIN for a control search, so the blank is a real blank. Neither the terms, the contact page nor the corporate-office page names a grievance officer, and none publishes a GSTIN.

The marks are the ownership record

Where there are no filings, the trade-mark file is the next best continuous record, and Maxima has one running across three decades.

Seven class 14 marks, one firm, 1995 to 2024
  • 1995PA MAXIMA filed 13 September, for analogue quartz watches
  • 1999PA MAXIMA again, for watches, clocks and movements
  • 2016PA MAXIMA PLUS filed 12 April
  • 2019MAXIMA device filed 11 June; certificate 26 June 2021
  • 2024STYL MAXIMA filed 30 May, same firm, same address

Every record names P.A. Time Industries at Dharampur, Solan.

Figures are what a register mirror carried on 23 September 2026; the registry’s own public search asks for a login and was not readable in this pass.

Thirty years of proprietorship in one firm’s name at one address is the nearest thing to an ownership chain here, and nothing read records a change of control.

Three founding years, from the firm’s own two sites

The heritage page says: “Our story began long before Maxima was established in 1996. In 1966, in the hills of Himachal Pradesh, our founder laid the foundation of a watchmaking legacy.” The site-wide footer says the group made spares first, then complete mechanical movements “with Swiss collaboration”, moved to quartz in the late 1980s, and “In 1996 we started maxima”.

The trade site, read the same day, says the firm has been “Crafting timeless elegance since 1987”. That leaves 1966, 1987 and 1996 on two websites belonging to one business. This page gives all three rather than choosing: a family watch business from 1966 and the Maxima brand from 1996, with 1987 explained nowhere.

Nothing read links Maxima to Seiko

Maxima is sometimes talked about as a Seiko-linked brand, and this audit looked for that link on purpose. Neither of the firm’s websites mentions Seiko. The register mirror’s eight class 14 records in the firm’s name carry no Seiko wording, and none records an opposition or a rectification by a Seiko entity. A register search for the phrase “maxima seiko” shows nothing, and an open-web search on the exact phrase shows nothing either.

Negatives are worth only as much as the checks behind them. The same register search for “maxima” in class 14, run the same day, returns the eight live records; the same web search on “P.A. Time Industries” with “Maxima” returns live results the same day. On that basis: no document read connects Maxima or P.A. Time Industries to Seiko Holdings or Seiko Watch Corporation of Japan. This page also does not say the words “Maxima Seiko” were ever used on a dial — nothing found establishes that either way.

Where Maxima watches are made

The brand’s own wording is precise: “Every Maxima watch is designed, engineered and assembled in India”. The verb is assembled. The page does not say made in India and does not claim the firm makes its own movements today. The footer’s “Swiss collaboration” line is in the past tense, about mechanical movements before the late-1980s move to quartz, and names no Swiss partner.

The marketplace records point the same way. On Myntra, 28 of 28 Maxima listings read on 23 September 2026 declare India as the country of origin, and “PA Time Industries Unit-II”, Kasauli Road, Dharampur, Solan appears on the manufacturer line and on the importer line of all 28. That is what the declaration says, and this page reports it as a declaration. The Amazon.in listing for the Attivo reference O-66680CMGT carries the same block: origin India, with the same firm as manufacturer, packer and importer.

The Unit-II label implies another unit somewhere, and a 2015 excise judgment places Unit-II at the same Dharampur address. No document read gives an address for a Unit-I, a floor area, a capacity or a headcount. The 2009 press release said the firm’s watches were then made in “Hong Kong and India” — a seventeen-year-old sentence, not a present-tense one.

One thing is missing throughout: the movement. Maxima names no movement supplier anywhere read — not on a product page, not in the footer, not on the marketplace listing, which gives only the attribute “Quartz”. For a brand whose whole proposition is a working quartz watch at ₹1,500, that is the most useful fact it declines to publish.

What Maxima costs in India

Watch, as the seller names it Code Price shown Tax wording on the page
SERICA COLLECTION-74791CMGJ, brand site SE014 ₹7,995 None printed
APEX COLLECTION-75301CMGR, brand site AX318 ₹3,995 None printed
URBANE COLLECTION-75123CMGI, brand site UE273 ₹2,045 None printed
AQUA (FIBER) COLLECTION-07603PPGW, brand site FR726 ₹1,079, with ₹1,199 beside it and a “-10%” badge None printed
Attivo Collection, Amazon.in O-66680CMGT “M.R.P.: ₹2,660.00”; ₹1,247.00 charged “M.R.P.” is the listing’s own label

All five read on 23 September 2026. The brand’s men’s page reported 103 products that day.

Two vocabularies are in play and they should not be merged. The brand’s own product pages print a single price, never the letters MRP, and neither the shipping policy nor the payments and returns pages mentions tax, GST or MRP. The figures above from maximawatches.com are therefore the price shown on the brand’s own site on 23 September 2026, not MRPs. The only MRP wording found anywhere sits on the marketplace listings.

On Myntra the 28 listings read that day carried a median MRP of ₹1,799 and a median price paid of ₹1,247.50 — 69.3% of MRP — with 27 of the 28 reduced. Reference 58751LMLI went from ₹1,299 to ₹883, and a chronograph from ₹5,450 to ₹3,651. On that basis this audit files Maxima in the budget band, taking the ₹1,799 median MRP as the typical Indian selling price rather than the ₹7,995 top of the brand’s own men’s range. Sonata and Timex sit on the same shelves and each has its own audit here.

Who is selling matters as much as the price. The Amazon listing was sold by VRP Telematics, a third party, and the brand publishes no list of authorised online sellers. On Myntra the seller of record was the same on every record: a company called Tech Connect Retail owns a registered trade mark reading “RetailNet”, and the marketplace names “RetailNet” as seller of record on 28 of 28 Maxima listings read on 23 September 2026; no document read links Tech Connect Retail to the brand.

What the brand publishes about the watch itself

The SERICA product page, read on 23 September 2026, shows the name, the code SE014, the price and an EMI line. Its “Product Details” and “Specifications” headings showed no content: no case material, no crystal, no water-resistance rating, no movement detail, no country-of-origin line.

The marketplace listing for the Attivo reference carries what the brand’s page does not — analog display, quartz movement, stainless steel strap, water resistance depth 30 metres, case material metal and, the one a buyer wants, crystal material mineral glass. Those are the marketplace’s attribute fields for that reference, not the brand’s statement about it.

The specification a buyer needs is on the marketplace listing, not on the brand’s own product page.

Mineral glass at ₹1,247 is a fair trade, and nobody should expect sapphire. The point is that the firm which designs, assembles and imports the watch leaves the buyer to learn the glass from a reseller.

Warranty, service and the genuineness checker

The warranty page offers a “1-year international warranty covering any manufacturing defects from the date of purchase”. The exclusions it lists are accidental impact, misuse or negligence; unauthorised repairs; wear to strap, case, glass or plating; and battery replacement and normal ageing components. To claim, you must “Present a duly stamped warranty card” and “Provide a valid proof of purchase”, then email or call the toll-free line, send photographs and ship the watch in. The page gives a resolution window of “within 7-14 business days”.

The warranty and contact pages both claim “50+ authorized Maxima service centers across India”. The trade site’s about page, read the same day, claims “over 80 distributors, 6000 loyal retailers” and a service centre at every distributor outlet. Those counts describe different things, and both come from one business on one day.

Worth knowing

The “50+ service centres” figure comes with no addresses and no list; the locator answers only to a PIN code. Ask the shop for the nearest centre’s address before you pay, and treat the count as the firm’s own.

A serial-number checker on the brand’s site asks for a name, a mobile number and a serial number, and says it matches them “against Maxima records”. Read its caveat first: “Watches produced for brand gifting, corporate collaborations, or special promotions may not appear in this public checker. Contact support for manual confirmation.” The page names no authorised sellers and says nothing about counterfeits.

The record in India

Two searches were run on the case-law database on 23 September 2026: the exact phrase “P.A. Time Industries”, which reported 40 results, and “Maxima” with watches and trade mark, which reported 31. Five matters were read in full. A control search on “Titan Company Limited” with trade mark, the same day, reported 59 results, so the database returns a known positive for an Indian watch business and the thinness of this file is a real reading.

Two decided matters came out of it. A Delhi magistrate acquitted the person prosecuted in a trade-marks case over wrist watches said to carry a PA Maxima mark, brought on the firm’s complaint, on 16 July 2014; the court recorded that the prosecution had not proved its case beyond reasonable doubt. On 10 March 2015 the High Court of Himachal Pradesh dismissed a central-excise appeal against the firm’s Unit-II, holding that no substantial question of law arose.

Each was decided on the matter as it then stood. None is a finding about how the firm trades in 2026, nobody has ruled on any Maxima watch sold today, and nothing on those terms shows a decided Indian judgment against the brand on product quality, consumer protection or trade-mark infringement by it. Read that as nothing found under those terms.

What a buyer can check

Check 01

Turn the box over

The block on the carton names the manufacturer, the packer, the importer and the country of origin. On every record read on 23 September 2026 all four named P.A. Time Industries in India.

Check 02

Ask for the glass and the water rating

The brand’s own product page carries neither. Ask the seller where the crystal type and water-resistance figure are printed for the exact reference.

Check 03

Get the card stamped

The warranty needs a duly stamped card and a valid proof of purchase. A watch bought cheaply from a reseller is worth nothing at a service centre without both.

Who Maxima is actually for

Maxima suits a buyer who wants a working analogue quartz watch for around ₹1,250 — the median paid across the 28 Myntra listings read — up to the ₹2,045 entry price on the brand’s own site, bought in a shop where the box can be turned over and the card stamped. At that money the Indian-assembled claim and the Indian manufacturer line are worth something real: there is no importer, no licensor and no foreign parent between the maker and the counter. Readers weighing the alternatives can also read our audit of Casio and the Titan page behind Sonata.

It suits a buyer who wants to know what they are buying rather less well. If the crystal, the water rating and the movement decide your purchase, the brand’s own pages settle none of the three.

Common questions

Is Maxima an Indian brand?

Yes. It is the watch brand of P.A. Time Industries, a partnership firm with its head office and works at Dharampur in Solan district, Himachal Pradesh. The firm owns the class 14 marks, operates the website, and is named as manufacturer and importer on the marketplace records read on 23 September 2026, all of which declare India as the country of origin.

Is Maxima connected to Seiko of Japan?

No document read links them. Neither of the firm’s websites mentions Seiko, the seven class 14 Maxima marks on the register mirror carry no Seiko wording and record no opposition or rectification by a Seiko entity, and searches on the phrase “maxima seiko” show nothing on the register or the open web — against control searches that returned results the same day.

Why is there no CIN or revenue figure for Maxima?

Because a partnership firm is not a company. The High Court of Himachal Pradesh called P.A. Time Industries “a partnership firm” on 13 January 2023, and a firm registered under the Indian Partnership Act files no accounts with the companies register and carries no CIN. A register-mirror search on 23 September 2026 showed no such company, against a control that returned Titan Company Limited.

Who makes the movements in a Maxima watch?

The brand does not say. No page read — product page, footer, heritage page or marketplace listing — names a movement supplier; the listing gives only the attribute “Quartz”. The firm’s own wording for the watch is “designed, engineered and assembled in India”.

What does the Maxima warranty cover?

One year from purchase, manufacturing defects only. Strap, case, glass and plating wear, battery replacement, impact damage and outside repairs are all listed as excluded. You need a duly stamped warranty card and a valid proof of purchase, and the page states a resolution window of seven to fourteen business days.

Is the marketplace price the real price?

The two channels use different vocabularies. The brand’s own site prints single prices with no MRP label and no tax wording; the marketplace prints an MRP and a lower price charged — a median MRP of ₹1,799 against ₹1,247.50 paid across the 28 listings read on 23 September 2026, with 27 of them reduced.

The FA take

The ownership question resolves better here than for most brands twenty times the price. One firm at one address in Solan owns the marks, runs the site, assembles the watch and signs both the manufacturer and the importer lines on all 28 records read, and a High Court has said in terms what kind of business it is. There is no CIN, no capital and no revenue because a partnership firm has none, which is a fact about Indian company law rather than a shortcoming.

The scepticism is about disclosure. The brand names no movement supplier, publishes no specification on its own product pages, and puts a “50+ service centres” figure on two pages without one address behind it — while its own two websites date the business to 1966, 1987 and 1996 on the same day. A buyer who wants to know whether the glass is mineral has to read a reseller’s listing to find out.

A ₹1,247 watch from a business that is easy to find and hard to learn anything about.
