Tresmode Brand Audit: Mumbai-Owned, Made in India Footwear

Tresmode is a Mumbai footwear brand owned by KFC Shoemaker. Who owns it, what its Myntra declarations say on origin, and its prices on Myntra and its own site.
Tresmode brand audit card by FashionAudit

Tresmode is a Mumbai footwear and handbag brand owned and run by an Indian company, KFC Shoemaker Private Limited, incorporated in March 2008. It sells women’s heels and flats and men’s leather shoes through its own website, three stores and the marketplaces.

The name reads as French, and older brand copy said the shoes were “Designed at a studio in Florence”. On 22 September 2026 every one of 40 Tresmode listings read on Myntra declared India as the country of origin and named KFC Shoemaker as the manufacturer and the seller.

The short answer

Tresmode is an Indian brand, owned and sold by its own Mumbai company, and every declaration read names that company and India. Future Ventures bought a minority stake of about a third in 2013; whether it still holds it is not established. On Myntra on 22 September 2026 the median pair sold at 86.4% of MRP, and the leather and comfort claims on its site cite no published standard.

Who owns Tresmode

The brand’s own website names its owner. The terms and conditions, read on 22 September 2026, say that “All rights, including copyright, in this website are owned by or licensed to KFC Shoemaker Pvt. Ltd.”, and give an address in One Indiabulls Center, Lower Parel. The return policy names “KFC Shoemaker Private Limited” for international returns at a second Lower Parel address, One Lodha Place. The contact and privacy pages name no company.

The corporate identity number reads the way a home-grown business’s should: U for unlisted, MH for Maharashtra, 2008 for the year, and PTC for an ordinary private company rather than a foreign subsidiary. The register mirrors Zauba Corp and ClearTax both give the incorporation date as 28 March 2008 and the status as active. No listed parent appears anywhere in the record.

Kapil Mahindra Mahtani has been a director since the day of incorporation on both mirrors that list directors, and a 2012 interview with a fashion blogger described him as “CEO of Tresmode”. The two mirrors list different additional directors, so neither list is reproduced here.

The one outside investor on record came in 2013. FashionUnited reported on 7 May 2013 that Future Ventures India had bought a 33% stake in KFC Shoemaker, price not disclosed, and Future Lifestyle Fashions’ investor presentation of November 2013 listed “KFC Shoemaker (Tresmode) 33.3%”. Whether that stake is still held today is not established: no later annual report or shareholding filing was read.

Worth knowing

A stake of about a third is a minority, and no filing read shows a change of control. We tag Tresmode Independent on that basis. That is not the same as saying who holds the rest today.

One name clash needs clearing up: an unrelated Kolkata company shares the word Tresmode in its name.

The money: one mirror figure and two older reports

KFC Shoemaker is a private company, and we have not read its filed accounts. The revenue figures below come from a register mirror and from 2013 business press, and each is labelled with where it comes from.

Year to 31 MarchRevenueWhere the figure comes from
2012₹21.52 croreFashionUnited, 7 May 2013
2013₹25.89 croreFashionUnited, 7 May 2013

2025₹38.56 crore, shown as up 19% on the yearThe Company Check, a register mirror; profit not shown

Register mirror and business press; no filing read.

The two sources give different figures for 2012-13; they may be on different bases, such as a different period or entity, and neither says which, so both are printed with their source. The 2024-25 figure is what a register mirror carries, not a set of accounts we have seen, and no profit or loss for any year is published in anything read.

The register also carries the company’s borrowings. The Company Check shows open charges of ₹20.61 crore, all held by HDFC Bank, and satisfied charges of ₹1.5 crore; Zauba Corp lists an HDFC Bank charge of ₹1.3 crore registered on 29 April 2024. A registered charge is ordinary security for a bank loan. It says the company borrows to trade, which fits a business running stores and a website.

Tresmode, as the record dates it
  • 2007Launch with a Mumbai flagship, in the brand’s older copy
  • 2008KFC Shoemaker incorporated, 28 March
  • 2009First use of the TRESMODE mark, as claimed in its application
  • 2013Future Ventures India buys about a third
  • 202640 of 40 Myntra listings declare India

Three different start dates: the brand’s, the company’s and the trade mark’s.

IndiaMART brand page and 2012 interview; Zauba Corp and ClearTax; QuickCompany trade-mark mirror; FashionUnited; Myntra product records, 22 September 2026.

The company records do not say who ran the brand in 2007, before KFC Shoemaker existed. The first TRESMODE application, number 1948658 in classes 25 and 35, was filed on 10 April 2010 and claims use from 1 September 2009; that date is the applicant’s own. The trade-mark mirror shows it registered to KFC Shoemaker and valid to 2030, with later TRESMODE and TRES BY TRESMODE marks from 2016, 2017 and 2019 in the same company’s name.

Where Tresmode is designed and made

The older brand copy placed the design in Italy. A fashion blogger’s interview of 15 June 2012 carried the line “Designed at a studio in Florence, Italy, Trèsmode’s shoes are manufactured across the world.” The brand’s undated IndiaMART page carries the same sentence without “Italy”, and names a European footwear designer as head of brand development.

The current site does not repeat it. Its About page, read on 22 September 2026, calls Tresmode “A brand up-to-date with global fashion trends” and names no design city.

Set that beside the declarations. We read 40 Tresmode product records on Myntra on 22 September 2026 — the block the Legal Metrology rules require, giving the country of origin and the company answerable for the goods. India was the country of origin on all 40. The current product pages on tresmode.com say “Country of Origin: India” too.

Field on the declarationWhat 40 Myntra records showed
Country of originIndia on 40
ManufacturerKFC Shoemaker Pvt Ltd, Plot 47, Marol, on 39; KFC Shoemaker, Gala 33, on 1
Seller of recordKFC Shoemaker Pvt Ltd on 40

Myntra product records for Tresmode, read 22 September 2026.

A declaration names the company legally answerable for the goods, which need not be the workshop that made them. Its site names no factory, and its About page says only “Handcrafted leather lace ups, loafers, driving shoes”. The one published statement on how the shoes are made is FashionUnited’s in 2013, that the company “sources footwear from domestic and international suppliers”. That is thirteen years old. On the register, KFC Shoemaker’s activity code is a general services code, not a footwear-manufacturing one.

For the buyer the practical point is duty. A shoe declared made in India pays no import duty, so duty plays no part in a Tresmode price, whatever the name suggests.

What Tresmode costs in India

Tresmode has no home market abroad, so there is no foreign price to set against the Indian one. The comparison that matters is between what its own site asks and what the marketplace charges.

Product on tresmode.comRegular pricePrice shown
Soco Brown men’s leather loafersNone shown₹7,800
The Bon Black men’s double-monk shoes₹8,700₹4,599 on the product page; ₹6,525 on the men’s listing page the same day
Silvia Black women’s dress flats₹3,299₹2,975

tresmode.com product and collection pages, read 22 September 2026. The pages read do not say whether prices include GST.

The men’s collection page the same day showed Soti tassel loafers at ₹7,800, Rovan loafers at ₹6,999 and Rosio loafers at ₹8,700. The Bon showed two sale prices on one day, so neither is the price; both are printed.

We read 100 distinct Tresmode listings on Myntra on 22 September 2026, from a brand listing of 571 products. The median MRP was ₹4,599 and the median price paid ₹3,975, which is 86.4% of MRP. Forty-five of the hundred were reduced, across 17 distinct MRPs. Heels made up 36 listings, flats 24, handbags 19 and formal shoes 12.

That is a brand holding its price. Two Indian footwear brands read in the same session were reduced on all 100 listings, Hitz selling at 57.8% of MRP and Alberto Torresi at 54.7%, while Monrow sat at 92.2%.

The price band is Mid-range, computed from the ₹3,975 median actually paid on a Myntra shelf led by heels and flats, with handbags on 19 of 100 listings. The men’s leather loafers on the brand’s own site, at ₹6,999 to ₹8,700, sit well above that median. For comparison, Metro Shoes and Mochi sell into the same mall-going buyer for heels and formal shoes.

Leather, comfort and what the claims rest on

We read the About page, the homepage and three product pages on 22 September 2026, and set each claim against what is published beside it.

ClaimWhereNumber, standard or tester named
“Handcrafted”About pageNone
“Made from top-grade, ultra-supple genuine leather”; “Upper Material: Genuine Leather”Soco loafersNone; no tannage, no Leather Working Group rating
“Imported Leather”The Bon double-monkNo country of the leather, no tannage, no certifier
“Vegan-friendly synthetic” upperSilvia flatsNo certifier named
“cushioned soles and arch support”HomepageNo test, number or standard

tresmode.com, read 22 September 2026.

None of the leather pages says how the leather was tanned, and none names the Leather Working Group or any other auditor. “Imported Leather” on the Bon does not say from where, which matters on a shoe whose country of origin is India: the leather’s origin and the shoe’s are separate questions. The vegan wording names no certifier, and the comfort line comes with no test. The pages read made no waterproof claim.

Stores, sellers and authenticity

The store locator, read on 22 September 2026, lists three shops: G-24, Grand Galleria Mall, Phoenix Mills Compound, Lower Parel; G-46, Inorbit Mall, Malad West; and F28, Phoenix Palassio, Lucknow. The homepage names the Lower Parel shop as being in “Phoenix Palladium Mall”, so the two pages describe it differently. In 2012 the brand also had shops in Pune, Goa, Bangalore, Chennai and Noida; the current locator lists none of them.

The terms and conditions mention Tresmode’s own stores and the marketplaces Amazon, Flipkart, Shoppers Stop and Lifestyle. On Myntra the seller of record was KFC Shoemaker itself on all 40 listings read, so a buyer there is buying from the brand’s own company.

tresmode.com gives no way to check a specific pair: no verification code, hologram, QR or list of authorised sellers on the terms, returns, privacy, contact or About pages read. Such lists do exist elsewhere — Casio publishes one for India naming its authorised online sellers, read the same day.

Check 01

Read the seller line

On all 40 Myntra listings read, the seller was KFC Shoemaker. A different name there means you are not buying from the brand’s company.

Check 02

Turn the box over

The declaration on the box should name KFC Shoemaker and India, as all 40 records read did. Look there, not at the name, for where the shoe comes from.

Check 03

Check the price twice on the brand’s site

One shoe showed ₹4,599 on its own page and ₹6,525 on the listing page on the same day. Confirm the figure at checkout.

The court record

A search of Indian Kanoon on 22 September 2026 for “Tresmode” found no reported case. One decided order names the company.

In Digidart Marketing Pvt Ltd v. KFC Shoemaker Pvt Ltd, a petition to appoint an arbitrator over a 2025 service agreement was “dismissed as withdrawn” on 15 May 2026 after the parties settled. It concerned a service agreement, not a product.

Who Tresmode is actually for

Tresmode suits a buyer who wants an Indian-made heel, flat or leather formal shoe from a company that sells under its own name and holds its prices. On Myntra 55 of 100 listings read sold at full MRP, so what is printed is close to what is paid.

It suits less well a buyer paying for European design or for a particular leather: the current site makes no European-design claim, and the leather pages name no tannery, tannage or auditor. Anyone weighing it against Bata or Red Chief is comparing a small unlisted company with one set of mirror-carried accounts against larger Indian names with longer public records.

Common questions

Is Tresmode an Indian brand?

Yes. It is owned and run by KFC Shoemaker Private Limited, a private company incorporated in Mumbai on 28 March 2008, and all 40 Myntra listings read on 22 September 2026 declared India as the country of origin.

Is Tresmode Italian or French?

No. The name reads as French and 2012 copy described a design studio in Florence, but the company is Indian, every declaration read says India, and the current site makes no claim of European design.

Does Future Group own Tresmode?

Future Ventures India bought a minority stake of about 33% in KFC Shoemaker in 2013. Whether it still holds that stake is not established, and no filing read shows a change of control.

Who makes Tresmode shoes?

The declarations name KFC Shoemaker itself, at a Marol, Mumbai address, on all 40 records read. The brand names no factory, and in 2013 the company was reported to source from domestic and international suppliers.

What does Tresmode cost in India?

On 100 Myntra listings read on 22 September 2026, the median MRP was ₹4,599 and the median paid ₹3,975. On its own site, men’s leather loafers were priced at ₹6,999 to ₹8,700 and the Silvia flats at ₹2,975.

No. Tresmode Exports Private Limited is an unrelated Kolkata company that shares the word in its name.

The FA take

What is good about Tresmode is how answerable it is. Its own Mumbai company owns the site, was the seller on 40 of 40 Myntra listings read, and is named as manufacturer on every one of them, with India as the origin. It also holds its price: the median pair on Myntra sold for ₹3,975, 86.4% of MRP, where two other Indian footwear brands read the same day were reduced on every listing.

Less is published about the materials and the money. “Imported Leather” and “genuine leather” come with no tannage, source country or auditor, and the public financial record read is one revenue figure of ₹38.56 crore for 2024-25 carried by a register mirror.

An Indian brand with its own company’s name on every box read: fair value for a mid-range heel or formal shoe bought close to MRP, judged on the shoe rather than the French-sounding name.
