Soch sells sarees, kurta sets and dress material from a Bengaluru company, on its own site and on four shopping sites besides. The question here is the plain one a shopper should be able to answer before paying: is there a company behind the name, and can you see it on the listing?
On 7 September 2026 the answer was on every listing. Across the whole Myntra catalogue — 7,662 listings — Soch Apparels Private Limited is the seller of record on 7,649. On the 208 records read in full, the same company is the declared manufacturer on all 208.
There is a company behind this brand and a shopper can check it on the listing itself. Soch Apparels Private Limited answers for 99.8% of the Myntra catalogue and is the declared manufacturer on every record read in full.
Who owns that company is a different matter. No shareholding pattern, annual return or allotment return was readable, so this page names four directors and no shareholders — not even the family whose members sit on the board.
Price: 7,662 Myntra listings, 69.2% reduced, aggregate 71.6% of MRP, median charged ₹2,089, read 7 September 2026. Ajio charged fourteen points less that day.

Who is answerable for a Soch garment
The Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011 require a retail package to name the manufacturer or packer with an address, along with the net quantity and the sale price. That block names who is legally answerable for the goods, not who sewed the garment, and naming a set of entities rather than one is lawful.
Most ethnic-wear names on a marketplace give a long answer. Across 208 Myntra records read one at a time there are four distinct manufacturer strings, and every one is Soch Apparels Private Limited — spelling and address variants of a single company. On the brand’s own shop it is one string, identical on all thirty product pages read.
| Brand | Distinct manufacturer strings on Myntra | Records read in full |
|---|---|---|
| Aurelia | 64 | 120 |
| W for Woman | 33 | 60 |
| Biba | 16, under three corporate names | 120 |
| Global Desi | 9 | 120 |
| Libas | 6, under two names | 207 |
| Soch | 4, all one company | 208 |
All six read on 6 or 7 September 2026.
One detail belongs on the record with no conclusion attached. Of the 208 declarations, 207 give the Cox Town address as PIN 560005 and one gives 560 026, as do five of the 21 readable declarations on Tata CLiQ. Biba’s showed the same thing that week: two PIN codes for one office.
What the marketplace’s own classification says
Myntra’s product records carry a system attribute marking a brand as one of the site’s own house of brands. On all 7,662 Soch listings it is off — 0 of 7,662. A control run in the same session on Anouk read 489 of 500 with the mark on, and Sangria read on for 16,378 of 16,716 listings.
That mark is the marketplace’s own classification of its own catalogue. It is not a trade-mark record and proves nothing about ownership. It earns its place by sorting cleanly against evidence gathered elsewhere: Anouk’s 450 listings named 207 manufacturers and 167 sellers, no Myntra company among them, while Soch’s 7,662 name one company throughout.
The company, and a ten-year gap in front of it
Soch Apparels Private Limited was incorporated on 7 July 2015 at Bangalore, with the Cox Town address that also appears on the goods. Manohar Dayaram Chatlani, Sandeep Manohar Chatlani and Vinay Manohar Chatlani have been directors from incorporation, and Ramesh Vashdev Makhija from 29 April 2021. There is no nominee directorship on the register, which on this rail is unusual enough to say.
The brand is older than the company. Vinay Chatlani, co-founder and chief executive, gave the founding year as 2005 in an interview published on 24 October 2025; soch.com gives no year. Nothing published explains how a business trading from 2005 came to sit inside a company incorporated in 2015 — no scheme, business transfer or predecessor company appears on anything read. The two dates sit side by side here, joined by nothing.
An aggregator’s copy of the trade-mark register, cited as a copy, carries application 2817061 — “Soch (label in black and white)”, class 3, filed 24 September 2014, shown as registered and renewed to 24 September 2034, proprietor Soch Apparels Private Limited at the Bachammal Road address. That filing date sits ten months before the company’s incorporation. The register itself was not reached, so nothing here is reported as absent from it.
Who owns the company
No shareholding of Soch Apparels Private Limited was readable anywhere — no shareholding pattern, no annual return, no allotment return — so this page names no shareholder at all. Three directors share a surname; that is a fact about a board, and turning it into a statement about ownership would be an invention.
What the record carries is the company’s own account of itself. Images Business of Fashion, reporting on 11 May 2026 that the business had crossed ₹500 crore, described it as “bootstrapped and EBITDA positive”, and no funding round, investor or stake appears in any trade coverage read. Against that sit paid-up capital of ₹1.12 crore to ₹1.14 crore — two mirrors differ and both are printed — and registered charges of ₹89.11 crore: a business funded by borrowing and retained earnings rather than by selling equity.
Eighty-two prices carry seven and a half thousand garments.
What Soch costs in India
The Myntra catalogue was walked category by category on 7 September 2026, giving all 7,662 listings with their MRP and the price charged. Of those, 5,299 were reduced and 2,363 — 30.8% — sat at MRP, none above it. That is the largest at-MRP share of any brand read on this rail that week: on almost every neighbouring label the reduced price is the ordinary one, and here a third of the shelf does not move.
Median MRP ₹3,498, median charged ₹2,089, median discount among the reduced 45%, deepest 70%. In aggregate ₹3.10 crore of MRP was being charged as ₹2.22 crore — 71.6% of MRP. A coupon sat on 86.4% of listings and bank offers on all of them that day, so every figure here is a ceiling rather than a floor.
Counting the distinct values answers what a median cannot: whether this is a price for this garment or a slot on a grid. There are 82 distinct MRPs across 7,662 listings, and 6,260 of them end in 98. There are 60 distinct whole-number discount percentages, and the ladder has holes in it — unbroken from 15% to 47% and again from 50% to 65%, with 48, 49, 66, 68 and 69 absent, and 67 and 70 sitting alone at the top.
The rail splits on that shape. Libas ran 79 rungs the same week, every integer from 13% to 84%, and W for Woman and Aurelia 69 and 67 unbroken; Biba, Global Desi and Soch all have gapped ladders. And 82 prices for a catalogue this size is the tight grid found on H&M, which priced 11,685 listings off 47 MRPs, and Uniqlo, which priced 1,307 off 23.
The countdown, and the coupon underneath it
Of the 208 listings read one at a time, 143 carried a live timed offer, all reading “OFFER ENDS IN”, and the start value is zero on every one — the offer has no beginning. The end values fall overnight, between 02:43 and 03:22 on 8 September 2026: a 38.9-minute window, 8.8 to 9.4 hours after the reading, across 116 distinct timestamps.
Six other ethnic-wear names, under six owners, showed the same shape that week: Anouk across 360 end times, and Biba, W for Woman, Aurelia, Global Desi and Libas each inside windows of 31 to 75 minutes. Uniqlo’s sale flags, read the day before, were the mirror image — a start value and no end date. Both describe a price that does not really change.
Underneath the countdown sits a coupon with a far longer life. On 6,622 of the 7,662 listings — 86.4% — a coupon block carries an end date of 10 or 11 October 2026, a month out, while the timer on the same listing expires that night. It is worth a median 10.0% of MRP under four codes, and it distinguishes nothing: read across the first hundred listings of each brand in one session, the same dated coupon sat on 100 of W for Woman’s, 99 of Aurelia’s, 98 of Soch’s, 96 of Biba’s, 95 of Global Desi’s, 93 of Libas’s and 86 of Anouk’s.
Where else it sells, and what it costs there
Four shopping channels were read on 7 September 2026 and they do not agree. The order belongs to this brand alone — Aurelia’s own shop came out cheaper than the marketplace that week, Biba’s dearer.
| Channel | Charged as a share of MRP | What that rests on |
|---|---|---|
| Ajio | 57.5% | 6,161 listings — the whole brand page |
| Myntra | 71.6% | 7,662 listings — the whole catalogue |
| soch.com | 72.2% | 7,571 products |
| Tata CLiQ | 74.9% | 36 product records — a sounding, not a catalogue |
Read 7 September 2026. The Tata CLiQ figure rests on 36 records and should be read as an indication only.
The gap at the top of that table is the finding. Ajio charged 57.5% of MRP against the brand’s own shop at 72.2% — fourteen points, on a book of six thousand listings, on one day. Ajio is a third party here, not the brand’s own group, so this is not a house selling to itself cheap. A shopper who bought on the brand’s own site that day, because it feels like the source, paid more.
That store prints the word MRP beside the price — “₹6,599.00 MRP ₹9,998.00 34% off (Inclusive of all taxes)” — so a percentage off MRP is an honest phrase there. Its numbers land within a point of the marketplace throughout: 68.3% reduced against 69.2%, 86 regular prices against 82, 62 discount rungs against 60.
One caution about counting. Tata CLiQ’s brand page carried 4,478 products while the same site’s search answered 13,291 for the same word, both on 7 September 2026. The brand page is the figure used above, because it is the shop’s own list and a search is only a ranking function.
What the label does tell you, and what it leaves out
Here Soch does something no other Indian brand’s own shop on this site has done. Net quantity — the “1N” or “3N” telling you how many pieces are in the pack — is printed on 30 of 30 soch.com product pages read, beside a style code on all thirty matching the shop’s own catalogue number. On Myntra it appears on 178 of 208 listings, on Tata CLiQ on 1 of 30.
The declaration is identical on all thirty of those pages: “Manufactured and Marketed By SOCH APPARELS PRIVATE LIMITED, No 14, Bachammal Road, CoxTown, Bengaluru (Bangalore) Urban, Karnataka, 560005. Country of Origin India”, with a support address and phone number beside it. Origin is India on all 259 declarations read.
After that it thins out. A percentage fibre composition — the 60% cotton, 40% viscose line a buyer can use — appears on none of the three channels; what you get is a fabric family word such as Art Silk or Cotton Blend. GSM, grams per square metre, which tells you how heavy a cloth is, appears nowhere either. Eighteen apparel brands into this site’s work, not one has published a GSM figure a shopper can read.
Stores, and how big the business is
Three published readings of the store count sit within ten months of each other and none agrees on the geography. The company’s own pages said “over 175 exclusive brand outlets across 68 cities” on 7 September 2026; the October 2025 interview said over 175 across more than 65 Indian cities plus Canada and Malaysia; the May 2026 trade report said 175-plus across 70-plus cities in the three countries. No full list of addresses is published, so the figure is the company’s own.
Revenue comes in four readings on three bases, none of them an audited figure taken from a filing. A register mirror carries ₹428.57 crore for FY2025, up 8.00%; a second puts the year to 31 March 2023 in a ₹100–500 crore band; trade coverage from September 2023 records FY23 passing ₹400 crore; and the May 2026 report gives ₹500 crore for FY26, of which ₹88 crore — 18% — came from selling online. Those readings are eleven months and three bases apart, so nothing here computes a growth rate across them.
The advertising record
The Advertising Standards Council of India’s complaints file carries nothing under this brand’s name or its company’s. Two terms were put through it on 6 September 2026 — Soch and Soch Apparels — and nothing else: no director, no earlier trading name. A known-positive check in the same session came back with its full set of 61 rows.
An empty file is a finding about the market rather than a certificate for the brand. That council’s work is built around objective claims — efficacy, “number one”, percentages — and ethnic wear makes almost none, so nearly every women’s ethnic label read that week comes back empty. It is not a clean bill of health.
A name on the same shelf that is not this brand
Myntra carries a separate brand facet called Urban Soch with 55 listings. Three read in full on 7 September 2026 declare Avidra Lifestyle of Jodhpur as manufacturer and give the same firm as seller of record. It is a different company, and a plain search for “soch” returns 7,717 listings — the brand’s 7,662 plus those 55, exactly. Search by the brand page, not by the word, or you will price one company’s goods as another’s.
Who Soch is actually for
A median of ₹2,089 buys a saree or a kurta set from a company you can name, at an address matching the register, with a style code and a net quantity on the brand’s own page. For a shopper who wants to know who answers if a garment goes wrong, that beats most of the rail.
Judge the price you pay
A third of this catalogue sits at MRP, and the reduced two-thirds run on 60 percentages off 82 prices. Judge the saree at ₹2,089, not at the drop from ₹3,498.
Compare the other sites first
On 7 September 2026 Ajio charged 57.5% of MRP against soch.com’s 72.2%. That order belongs to this brand, so check it again on the day you buy.
Common questions
Who owns Soch?
The company answerable for the goods is Soch Apparels Private Limited, CIN U52599KA2015PTC081440, incorporated on 7 July 2015 and registered at Bangalore. Its four directors are on the register. No shareholding of that company was readable on any annual return, allotment return or shareholding pattern, so this page names no shareholder, and the trade coverage describes the business as bootstrapped.
Is Soch a marketplace’s in-house label?
No. Myntra’s own house-of-brands classification is off on all 7,662 Soch listings read on 7 September 2026, against 489 of 500 for Anouk read the same day. More usefully, the declarations point the same way: one company is the seller of record on 99.8% of the catalogue and the declared manufacturer on every record read in full.
When was Soch founded?
The company’s co-founder gave 2005 in an interview published on 24 October 2025, and the brand’s own pages give no year. The company that sells the clothes was incorporated on 7 July 2015. Nothing published explains how a business trading from 2005 came to sit inside a 2015 company, so both dates are printed here and neither is presented as the other.
Where is Soch cheapest?
On 7 September 2026, Ajio: 57.5% of MRP in aggregate across 6,161 listings, against Myntra at 71.6% of 7,662, soch.com at 72.2% of 7,571 products and Tata CLiQ at 74.9% on a sample of 36. That is a fourteen-point spread between a third-party site and the brand’s own shop on one day, and it is worth re-checking on the day you buy.
Is Urban Soch the same brand?
No. Urban Soch is a separate Myntra facet of 55 listings whose declarations name Avidra Lifestyle of Jodhpur as both manufacturer and seller. A plain search for “soch” returns both brands together, which is why the count on a search page and the count on a brand page are different numbers.
Does Soch publish fabric weight or composition?
No. Across 259 declarations read on three shopping sites on 7 September 2026, none carried a percentage fibre composition and none carried a GSM figure. The listings give a fabric family word such as Art Silk or Cotton Blend, which tells you the material and nothing about the weight.

On the question this site keeps putting to marketplace ethnic wear — is there a company behind the name — Soch gives the cleanest answer on the rail. One company sells 99.8% of the catalogue and is declared on every record read in full, the address on the goods matches the register, and the brand’s own shop prints a net quantity and a style code on every product page read.
The pricing is more ordinary than the disclosure. Eighty-two MRPs and sixty discount rungs across 7,662 garments describe a grid, the timer that ends tonight has no beginning, and a shopper loyal to the brand’s own site paid fourteen points more than one shopping on Ajio the same day. Two things stay open: how a business dated to 2005 came to sit inside a 2015 company, and who owns that company.
Buy it for the clarity on the label and the ₹2,089 you actually pay — then check the other sites before you check out.
